Agree that this place has gone downhill. Ordered for takeout the very expensive Greek Burger $ 12.99 that has been terrific in the past. The lamb was like a hockey puck. Completely inedible. Sweet potato fries were under seasoned. Threw it all out.

This place is going downhill. I remember when they opened I was very impressed. The last time I came in, I wasn’t impressed. This time, the quality of my experience was terrible. Details below. I ordered a Wellington and Fries w/seasoning. They told me they don’t carry the rosemary and parmesan on their website anymore, so I got the fries with garlic. I ordered for pickup. When I arrived, I was told I had to wait behind the other 12 customers in line, simply because BGR didn’t offer a payment over the phone. I was visibly irritated by this, and the girl at the register noticed and let me cut in line. No problem so far. Unfortunately the food did not deliver. If you love garlic, these fries are for you. They’re not fries with garlic, they are garlic with fries– to the point they saturate the fries, which end up being half crispy and half soggy garlic. I ate 4 and stopped. Not worth it. I had fond memories of their flagship Wellington burger with its bountiful mushrooms and blue cheese, barely able to hold together long enough to be eaten. It was so good and heavy I would eat half on the spot and save half for later. They changed this. I don’t know why, but the problem mushrooms didn’t even cover my burger, and I didn’t taste the blue cheese until my 3rd bite. Half of my burger experience(the outer part) was just chewing dry bun and a patty. I ate half and stopped. Again, not worth it. I’d take it back to them tomorrow except they’re probably going to be closed for Thanksgiving. I’d rate the fries a 1⁄10 and the burger at 4⁄10 simply because I like toppings on my burgers instead of meat on a bun. At $ 14, this is easily 90th percentile pricing for a burger and fries. The enjoyment to cost ratio is abysmal. One star. I would rather have donated the money to charity.

Love this place! I ordered a make your own burger with grilled pineapple, cheese, and smoked bacon. It was slow(because it is very fresh, NOT slow service) but I still love it! Will come back!

Burger there was only ok. toppings arranged in illogical order causing pretty much everything to fall out. A little expensive for what I got. Fries and onion rings were good tho

This place deserves more than 3 stars. The burgers are delicious and they have a unique flavor compared to other burger restaurants in the area. I also give the toppings thumbs up. I’m a burger aficionado and I take burgers seriously :)

Terrible service! I ordered a Wellington Burger, a Salad, And Onion Rings. My sister had the burger and I was having the salad and onion rings(I’m a vegetarian). The burger was served with the onion rings. They were dripping with Wellington burger juice. I explained the situation to the manager David and he said I would have to buy a fresh order if that’s what I wanted. I think the Onion Rings should have been free since they were put on the plate with the burger. They never apologized for their error. They told me next time to order the onion rings separately.

Very disappointing! Waited an eternity for 2 burt burgers that were ordered medium. Fries can’t compare to Five Guys or onion rings to Cheeburger Cheeburger. This will be our first and last trip to BGR!

The place was empty at 7:45 on a Saturday night. The guy who took our order(2 standard burgers) was the one who did the cooking, until he left it to another worker to put the 2 burgers onto the counter. At that point she had no clue which was medium rare and which was well done. The original staffer was called over and declared which was which. In fact, both were well done. Not willing to wait another 15 minutes for a replacement I just ate the burger. Too expensive, too slow, not actually cooked to order, and the act of arbitrarily declaring a distinction between the two burgers — I can easily do without this restaurant. So this is my first and last visit there.

Great burgers and amazing fries. It was a little expensive for what it was. We also had grilled asparagus which was great. That’s a great idea for a side dish. The menu is very limited. There was one vegetarian burger option, but it said«bbqq» which I assume mean quorn, which is gross, so that’s too bad. They will serve burgers in lettuce wraps.

Everyone knows the burgers are very good but the reason that IT’S ALWAYSEMPTY is that the workers aren’t very nice & the prices are very high! They need more promotions… like a Monday night half-price night. Might as well, IT’S EMPTYOFCUSTOMERSANYWAY!

This time around, the food quality was way better than the other location I went to. I called ahead to order and the guy who took my order was very polite. The Burger Box special, M-F, is $ 9.99 plus fries and a fountain drink. Very good deal and the portion of the fries was enormous for me. Great value! I would come here again, the burger was delicious. I wish they would season the fries a little bit more, or had some type of special seasoning.

I ate here with my family a couple days ago and really enjoyed it! The burgers are well-cooked and delicious. The sweet potato fries(one of my favorite delicacies!) are a must. The atmosphere – spacious and decked out in old album covers – is really chill, too. If you’re looking for a nice, open space to sit down and have a quality burger, this is it.

I have given this place a second go around. The burgers are very good, but the lobster roll that they feature for the summer is amazing. It is sooooooo much better than the one at Lobster ME. The lobster is tender and the roll is super fresh(fresher than me…). Here is my foodie tip… ask for the sauce on the side, then drizzle it over your lobstah roll! It is sweet like a cole slaw dressing, but too much is too much. I skip the fries, only because I am being good, but they are delicious. Check out the specials, too. There is always a kick@ss milkshake. Never mind my first review, I was young and restless.

Took one star off for the rude customers walking around coughing with mouths uncovered, and a bunch of noisy kids totally out of control under the loving gaze of their parents. The burgers are 1st rate.

It was a quick run a few options to choose from in the plaza, BGR made the cut. Not a fan of burgers, the Korean was fantastic, others had the slider meal, reg cheeseburger, and Triple D. We all enjoyed our food. Nice tasting, only 3 stars because fries and drink are separate. Gets a bit expensive. However, I would go back, great staff, needs a little maintenance in the restrooms!

From all the burger places around, BGR is one of my favorites, again. I discovered the Cuban burger a few years ago here at BGR. However, it was removed from the menu. I was so upset I never came back. last year they brought back the Cuban and I’m back, once or twice a month. The Cuban is bar none my favorite burger anywhere. I think it’s better than an actual Cuban sandwich. The fries and onion rings are also very good.

Ahem… I’m updating my review here since having had some poor service here lately. I ordered a shake with our take-out and long story short, it didn’t get included with the order when it was handed off to my husband. I called when he got home(sans shake) and was told we could 1) come pick it up then(not an option) or 2) come in another time, and mention«her» name and get the shake then. Well, apparently I should have done better due diligence, because today the GM refused to make up for their mistake since the employee didn’t document the mistake/situation… So, word to the wise: check your order against your receipt when you pick it up! Original review: We get take out here a couple times a month, and everyone in the family likes their burgers. We used to be Five Guys fans — and we still go there — but the Burger Joint is a bit more unique in their variety of burgers, which is nice.

I’ve been to the Bethesda location a few times, but this was my first time at the Potomac one. The burgers are just as good here– very juicy and not too greasy. I usually stick to the same thing– a regular cheeseburger with the works, and aside of onion rings. The onion rings are definitely worth getting– a good size portion and very tasty. Its a good option in the area.

I bought a deal for the lobster burger didnt know what to expect. We patiently waited for the order I was shocked at the serving of the lobster burger — two entire claws lightly seasoned with no other fillers the lobster was spread over three burger buns! And the good fries! What a lobster burger.

Not real happy for the quality of door for the money I spent here. Ask for Medium burger they burnt it like Charcoal! The forget to add Feta to the burger. It was not busy and it definitely is the first and last Time I come here. Yes the décor is cool. But the quality if food is terrible. 12.00 bucks for just a sandwich! And it’s burned so no flavor or juice left.
