Xander is an excellent cat sitter! On two occasions he has watched our cats and I was impressed both times. It’s wonderful that I get a text with a picture of our cats on visits, as I love to see them and it gives me peace of mind they are being well taken care of. He is reliable, reasonable and professional.

Xander recently pet sit for my cat Lucy. He responded to my note initially requesting service very quickly and answered all my questions. He was flexible for a meet and greet to get acquainted with Lucy. While I was traveling and away he checked on Lucy as agreed and texted me pictures of Lucy which I very very much appreciated. I highly recommend Xander for pet sitting and would call him again next time I am traveling. Thank you Xander for checking in on Lucy!

Xander has watched my cat, Zen, multiple times while I’ve traveled and is very reliable. He responds quickly to inquiries and I know I can travel in peace hiring him while I’m away. Not only does he make sure my little guy is well cared for, he waters my plants and brings in my mail, too. It’s such a pleasure having such a reliable & caring person to turn to to make sure my cat is well taken care of while I’m gone.

Xander is the best! He took great care of my little baby cat while I was on vacation. He sent me pictures and updates that made feel like my Leo cat was well cared for. He even helped me with an ant problem that evolved while I was gone. I would HIGHLY recommend Xander for anyone looking for a good pet sitter.

Xander did a great job caring for our cat while we were away. Our cat is 18 years old with a lot of medical issues. She takes several meds and has a really fussy routine. Xander handled all of that very well. We were out of the country and worried about things, but Xander kept us updated and assured us that all was going well. When our cat was refusing some of her pills, he worked out some creative solutions. And getting a photo of our «baby» when we were so far away was a nice touch.
We would definitely recommend Xander’s pet sitting and will call him again when we go out of town. He is a super nice guy and seems to have a ton of experience with animals. Great experience!

Xander just took care of my special needs cats for ~4 days and he was great! He put me at ease by sending me updates on their well-​being and put them at ease by keeping them comfy. I’ve returned to two happy, healthy cats, and a remarkably large pile of mail on my door-​side table. I’ll definitely rely on him again!

Xander’s pet sitting service was great! Xander genuinely seemed to care about our 2 cats. He sent us texts with pictures of our cats every time he visited which was reassuring and fun. He kept everything clean and even brought in the mail for us. His prices are great and he was very friendly. I definitely recommend Xander as a pet sitter if you ever need to use his services when you go out of town.

Xander was so great with my cats. I was super nervous leaving them with someone I didn’t know. I was new to Portland so didn’t have a ton of options. He provided references right away. They had nothing but praise for him. He sent me pics each time he came to check on them so I would feel more at ease. They even started to come out for him! I had a stressful trip home for a family emergency and he made leaving my kitties a little easier. I was so happy I used him again just a few weeks later!

I was so thrilled to find Xander to look after my cat while I was away! Very easy to get in touch with/​super responsive by email or text, professional, easy-​going, and responsible – definitely put my mind at ease while I way away! You can tell Xander has a huge heart and loves all kinds of animals. My kitty was very calm and snuggly upon my return :) I will definitely be asking Xander to look after Nemo again in the future.

Xander kind of rocks. I hired him based on his Unilocal reviews to feed and water my 2 cats for a long weekend. Throughout our initial email contact and our first meeting in person, he was professional and super responsive. There was a slight mix up the first day where he thought he was to start that evening and I thought he was going to start that morning. I texted to check in, we discovered the issue, and within 20 minutes I was getting photos of my 2 happy cats. I highly recommend him and he is now my go-​to pet sitter.

I was referred to Xander by my usual sitter, after her plans changed and I had to find a replacement.
Xander was very kind, communicative, professional, and seemed to identify well with my cats. In fact, my two beasts who are usually very shy of strangers seemed very welcoming to Xander’s presence!
Everything was taken care of when I got home (including a surprise cat mess), and the daily check-​in texts were very much appreciated.

Affordable and reliable pet care. My dog Scooter seemed to be happy with Xander.
While I was away, I did received a few photos of Scooter resting his head and being comfy on Xander’s legs. That was a nice treat! :) I like that Xander won’t let my dog get away with thing like being naughty, even though I was there (at the pick up time). lol

I had never hired a cat sitter before Xander, but having decided not to be a bother to my friends to cat sit for me when I am out of town, I looked around for someone to take care of my two cats. Xander was highly recommended by someone I completely trust and I have not been disappointed.
Xander has been cat sitting for me for almost 2 years now and he is simply amazing. Before hiring Xander, I would do short 2 day trips leaving my cats alone with plenty of food, but I would always return and the cats would completely misbehave. After Xander, the cats are well-​behaved when we return (as if we had never left).
Aside from feeding and playing/​caring for my cats, Xander goes above and beyond by making sure FedEx packages and mail make their way inside the house. A few times I’ve had to travel on trash pickup days and Xander has brought in the trash cans from the street to my driveway.
I would highly recommend Xander… if you loved your pets, do the right thing! =)

We have had Xander cat on our two cats now for multiple trips over the past year or two and are incredibly pleased. Instead of coming home to ornery upset kitties, they always greet up happily because of Xander’s visits. Xander is timely, leaves good notes and always keeps us updated with texts and emails. We’ve had Xander stay in the house and look after our elderly cat on many occasions now. Xander is wonderful with her, understanding her whims and needs, and what’s great for my peace of mind are his regular email updates.
Xander is also a really good housesitter, piling up mail in the right place and watering plants as needed. No matter how long or short the trip, the house looks neat and tidy when we get home. But most important of all, the cat looks relaxed, healthy and somewhat indifferent to our arrival — not clingy at all, which means she got plenty of attention while we were gone.
You’ll be happy with Xander if you hire him. Recommended without hesitation!
