Wild Boar Saloon

Well! I go away from Portland for a month or two and the whole dang place changed! The Banfield is paved, Glisan is paved, and there’s a new bar where the old Mexican place used to be!
Strolled on in here while waiting for some Thai across the street and was pleasantly surprised.
It’s pretty much just like every bar where I’m from, a beer and shot joint, but with the ghosts of Old El Dorado still haunting around. I.E. it looks like the old Mexican place still. Sort of.
Just had a beer. One simple pour of Ninkasi IPA. Was good and fresh. Not surprising since the place is apparently only a month or so new.
But what really set the place apart from being a «just another beer and shot joint» were the people. The bartender/​slash owner is SUPER friendly and on top of things. The other gal hanging out there was off work, but was also very friendly as well. Ended up chatting with Ray, the gal who owns the place, and found out she’s from Ohio as well. That was pretty cool! Was really nice transforming a simple glass of beer while waiting for food into a pleasant experience.
Can’t wait to give their happy hour a try!
