I stayed at the Westerner Motel after discovering that it was across from the Yellow Line Max, Prescott station. The first Room No. 20, I was given that was supposed to be Non-Smoking, smelled of cigarette smoke. So I went back downstairs to get another room. The woman gave me a Double Room, No. 16. It was spacious, and newly painted. Only thing was the main window faced the Street and you could hear traffic and trunks going to I-5. What was missing was a towel rack in the remodeled bathroom. A newer sink and toliet and shower stall was installed. The shower was cramped. Also there was no curtains in the bathroom, but the tree in front served as a barrier. The window was newer too. The other furniture in the room was really old like from the 60’s. The sheets and bedspread were pretty old and thin too. But You get what you pay for. The rate was only $ 69 and convenient to the entrance of I-5 and to Downtown by Lightrail. Within a block, there was Plaid Pantry store, Taco Bell, a Chinese Restaurant, Greek Food, wine bar, Wings and the Alibi Room(for Karaōke and Tiki Lounge) is two blocks away. There was a Hobby store next door too. There are no shampoo provided or Coffee Machine. No Free breakfast or coffee at the manager’s desk. So you have to bring your own instant coffee, tea and hair dryer. There were no hangers either. I could of asked for them but I didn’t feel like going to the office again for the 3rd time. Check out time is 11am. I asked for extended Check out until Noon. In the Morning the manager tried to unlock my door with his key. Then he knocked afterwards since I had the deadbolt on. It was 11:15 am and I said I was given extended Check out time until Noon. When I returned the key I gave him a list of items needed to be done to the Room like installing the towel rack and curtain in the bathroom. He never said Thank You for Coming. If you stay here, it’s close to Lloyd Mall, Convention Center and the airport. I needed a place where I could hop on the Max to go Downtown to catch my Bolt bus. This place is better than the hostels, at least.
