I’m always nervous about trying out new(for me) establishments, but I’m certainly glad I decided to try out Walt’s. First of all, it’s the best haircut I’ve had in Portland bar none. Secondly, it’s a five minute walk from my house. And third, Walt is fast and consistent with his haircuts. I always walk out of there looking like a million bucks even though it only cost $ 12.

Started going here a few months ago as it’s only a few blocks from my office. Always nervous to go to someone new, but Walt does a great job, is very fast, and is an interesting guy to talk to. Always has something old and interesting on the television as he’s a bit of a history buff. Great price too. 12 bucks!

Walt Rocks! He is super professional, and did a great job on my hair and beard trim. Definitely my go to barber in the area because his hours are great for me(8am — 2pm Tuesday — Saturday), the shop is clean, he is entertaining, and does great work and fast! I am very excited especially since it is walking distance from my new house, but I would have driven from further away in SE because I really like Walt and his shop. If you are looking for convenient parking, I recommend Round Table right across Foster. Easy cross walk right to Walt, and have never been hassled or towed for parking there since 2013 when I started going to NWIPA up the street, and didn’t want to deal with parallel parking on Foster!

Walt’s is a classic little barber shop, and Walt is a nice guy who’s been cutting hair forever. If you live nearby, it’s a great spot to get a trim.

Walt is a neat, congenial guy who’s been cutting hair longer than I’ve been alive. This shop is a tiny little one-room studio that looks a little run-down and tired, but clean, just off Laurelwood Park at the intersection of SE Foster Rd and Holgate Blvd. It still has the sign up from the previous salon, June’s. My hair is curly and therefore a little complex to cut. His first pass was pretty good, but it wasn’t just right. I encouraged him to trim a few trouble spots I found ruffling my hands through. I’m guessing most of the cuts he does are pretty straightforward and he appreciate the opportunity to «be an artist»(his words). He charged me $ 15 but it’s less for Seniors. I don’t know if he does kids’ cuts. If you live in the area and are looking for an affordable, professional barber, Walt’s your guy.
