I don’t go anywhere else! I used to go to Dosha for my needs but once I was able to get in short notice with Lanie at the Devision location I was forever an Urban Waxx believer! The atmosphere was entirely different (to me), seemed less cold and more about the clients comfort. I can actually say I look forward to my appointments because of how great the vibes are there. I always feel taken care of to the max. Never feel like I’m being rushed out or that I got a poor service. I typically leave with a red forehead (eye brow wax) and a huge smile on my face. All other services I have received have also been great.

Wren is delightful. She always makes the visit so pleasant and entertaining. The whole team at Urban Waxx is professional and welcoming. I highly recommend them for all waxing needs. The app makes it very easy to schedule appointments and I never have a problem finding an opening that works with my schedule. Best choice in Portland for waxing!!!

I am always impressed by the service here. I’m always coming in randomly and they’re always squeezing me in. Maybe I’m just lucky like that. Also, every single one of the girls I’ve had give me a Brazilian has not only been really nice, but also really fast, which I love! That’s the key to a good Brazilian, get it over quickly!
The only weird thing about this place that may be strange for some people, is you’re supposed to drop trou in front of the staff and then jump on the table, instead of undressing in privacy and then waiting on the table with a sheet over you which they will later remove. Personally I have no problem with their method. It saves my time, and who are we kidding, they are going to see everything any way, but I can see how some more shy folks might feel a little awkward. That being said I’m totally happy with the way you guys do things, and I am going to keep coming back every 5 weeks religiously.

Lanie was amazing! Urbanwaxx uses hard wax which is ALOT less painful than the soft wax other salons use. I couldn’t believe how quick and easy my Brazilian was! My appointment was started on time and I was offered a mimosa and some time to sit and relax. The receptionist was helpful and friendly. Lanie was experienced and knowledgable and made me feel super comfortable. She really took all my nervousness away. I rebooked with Lanie and also bought an after care kit on her recommendation because I could tell she was being genuine and not trying to up sell me. I will be a regular now and definitely recommend Urbanwaxx

I have been coming to this one since May 2014 and seeing Rebecca each time. I got my first Brazilian here with her. I did a bit of research to figure out who I should go to via Unilocal,which I’m glad I did! First time wasn’t too bad and with proper care between visits, it hasn’t been too bad.
Since my first visit, I’ve got to the Hillsboro location and some other people at this location, but for some reason I just REALLY like Rebecca. I always feel my best when I leave her and will try to have no one else at this place if I can help it! She’s good at distracting you and listening/​asking questions. Won’t go to anyone else if I can help it!

If you’re getting a Brazilian, I don’t know where else you would go in the the PDX area. They use the right wax, right method, and are quick and efficient.
Yes, you need to get there on time because the appointment windows are really small!
I didn’t realize I was used to very high end waxes before I moved here.
I tried a few sketchy places when I first arrived to the PDX area. Holy schamole, I didn’t realize how pampered I was previously until I experienced those questionable waxes, eeeeek!!!

I’ve been here twice now and have not been disappointed. Rather I have been pleasantly surprised. Urban Waxx offers a relaxing, and spa like environment and of course waxing of all kinds. It’s not the most fun activity but this place makes it much more enjoyable. I think offering a mimosa before getting your hair ripped off your face or body is a brilliant idea! And the staff are knowledgeable and skilled and simply put, get the job done !!
I love the SE location and I feel like anyone you see here is going to be great!

I’m not a schedule in advance kinda girl so I really appreciate that I can almost always find a same-​day appointment here. I’ve had other great waxes in portland, but this place is winning all the things for the little details – like mimosas (or wine or beer or tea or…) and candies, a good magazine selection and a wall full of delicious smelling products to peruse.
The estheticians are pretty chatty, but totally respectful when I once had to do a working wax (It’s totally a thing. Don’t worry about it.) Since I never book in advance I’ve probably had 4 different estheticians and I’ve enjoyed them all, but my fav so far was Sadie, who was so cheerful it was like sunshine. Or crack.
I do agree with some of the other commenters – if this place could do anything to improve, a dark pair of sunglasses would be super helpful.

I had wanted to get sugared but the place down the street was booked. Urban Waxx was able to do a wait of about 30 mins. The prices were definitely more than I have paid in the past. The experience made up for it. I was offered a mimosa while I waited and they have snacks to the side of the lobby as well. A relaxing atmosphere is what I was looking for. I can’t remember my gal, Danielle? Not sure. Pretty brunette. Either way she was awesome. Talkative in a natural way that I ALMOST forgot she was ripping hair out of my body. I don’t live in Portland, but the next time I need an emergency waxing I’m heading here.

Came here for my first full leg wax and bikini wax EVER. I was terrified! Immediately when I walked in, I felt better. Every receptionist there is so friendly and nice, there’s candy in the lobby and even a mimosa to enjoy before you go in! Lanie is amazing! She chatted with me the whole time, made me feel SO comfortable and it was so much better than what I was picturing it to be! I felt so confident walking out! My second time back Lanie remembered me AND my stories we talked about-​so awesome. Had just as wonderful of an experience! I’m a customer for life! Thanks Urban Waxx for all that you do! Tip-​head next door to Sunshine Tavern to get a slushy margarita as a reward after your wax :)

I went in to get my eyebrows waxed and for a thong/​crack wax with Ginger. I was early for my appointment and taken in early. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and made sure I was comfortable and offered me drinks more than once. Ginger was equally as kind and talked with me throughout the process, which was fairly painless. And, both of my waxes look great.

I’ve never had a bad experience here. So professional and they make me feel very comfortable. I love the atmosphere and the estheticians are so classy. I recommend them to everyone I know.

Beautiful facility and top notch service. Unlike some facilities that it is «Get in Get waxed Get out… Urban Waxx has more of a spa feel. I am always greeted by a friendly receptionist and promptly checked in. They offer you water, tea, mimosa or more. My appointments have always started on time if not a minute or two early. I have been seeing Alix for a number of years now and she is absolutely the best esthetician I have ever seen. She has a hilarious personality and makes what can be an «uncomfortable» waxing seem like it is not even happening.
Booking an appointment online is simple and streamlined and when booking about 5 weeks in advance I never run into an issue with availability. When I have had to rebook appointments a week or less out it has also been easy for me to reschedule. The results are also great. After trying other facilities before with less than stellar results/​ingrown Urban Waxx knows what they are doing. I have been a client for 4.5 years and will continue to be.
I appreciate the service that Urban Waxx provides and highly recommend them to anyone!

Today was my first time at UrbanWaxx, I usually go to the WaxShack, the ladies there are wonderful and have always been quick and kind. I could not make it to their neck of the woods so I settled for a place in my neighborhood. Little did I know, this would be the worst waxing experience ive ever had.
My wariness was piqued when I called to schedule the appointment, I was required to give them my credit card info incase I didnt show up and I would be charged 50% of my service. Though this may be a normal thing with waxing businesses, it didnt sit well with me. It made me anxious.
My annoyance was piqued when when I laid down underneath a horribly bright led light. So you can offer me alcohol but not sunglasses? Thanks.
So the waxing starts, so does some horrible radio music that was a bit too loud. I wasnt comfortable at all! Usually my waxing experience is quick and painless but this was much different. It took her ELEVEN strips/​pieces to get my upperlip done, when at my usual salon it only takes two! By the middle of my appointment, which lasted close to 15 minutes, my lip was pulsing and stinging, something I am not used to! When I asked her for relief from a cold rag she said they had no sink (???) and that I had to wait until she was done to put crème on. At this time my eyes were hurting from the light, im very annoyed and I feel very stuck in my situation. I did not feel comfortable telling this girl off but I did express my displeasure.
So im done getting waxed, finally. I go to pay and ask the clerk to please remove my credit information from the system, for I had no intention of returning. She was clearly unprepared to fufill this request and took several minutes to «figure out» how to find the delete button. Talk about awkward! I left very unsatisfied with strained eyes and a very irrititated lip. I will never return to this establishment no matter how hairy I am!

I had Sadie today. Can’t say enough good things. It was so fast and painless! I have been waxed and/​or sugared for years (and years). This is the best experience I’ve had.
Upon coming in I was offered tea, water or a mimosa. Uh, yes please! Then they took me a little early, which was nice.
Sadie got right to work. Great conversation the whole time. If I was somebody who was nervous this type of treatment, it was over before you had time to think about it.
She used hard wax. Never had before. I liked it. Less painful then regular waxing with the strips!
Will I come again? Yes!

Wow, if you’re a man in this city and need to be waxed… These ladies know there stuff. Lindsey Monroe was super efficient, and made getting my back waxed as painless and swift as possible. (Normally a tall order for me because of my sensitive skin)
She also offered to do some sort of high frequency treatment afterwards to help reduce the chances of getting ingrown hairs. Thanks guys!

I went last night to get my eyebrows waxed for the second time in my life after they were nearly waxed off several years ago at a cheapo salon. My mistake, but I was pretty damn scared to get my eyebrows waxed by a stranger.
First off, you are offered mimosas, beer, wine, etc if you want upon your arrival. There are snacks while you wait and magazines to read. The zen of the place is just nice. It’s very relaxing with big windows and tall ceilings.
My appointment started on time with Diane who was absolutely amazing at what she does, and super friendly. I stressed my concern to her and she actually asked what I was looking for. I was surprised to see that they don’t use wax strips here, but rather the wax that peels off after it cools off. It was NOT painful at all. I winced but only cause your eyebrow skin is sensitive, of course. The best part is that she told me exactly what she was doing while she was doing it. You wouldn’t think for something as simple as eyebrows it would matter, but it does to me.
The only downside is that it’s $ 22 dollars to get your eyebrows waxed. But, I re-​booked with Diane because I like having eyebrows, so it’s worth it to me. I also received a discount because I signed up on Unilocal — and since my friend came with me and was technically a referral, we both received 15% off our next appointments. So with tip, I still ended up paying about $ 23. Not bad! Can’t wait until my next wax. Isn’t that crazy?

Something about Portland finally reaching 90 degrees made me want to schedule an appointment to wax all of my body hair off. It was more than anything a split second choice to book and appointment online and just go for it. I’ve had a bikini wax done before and if anything I remember it being semi painful, but more than anything very awkward. So, I figured why the hell not, let’s just go big or go home.
More than anything I was anxious, but I seriously felt like I was at a spa and not about to make my lady parts incredibly angry at me. Alix is a waxing wizard. On a scale from 1 – 10, the pain was barely a 2. She did a great job of keeping me distracted and relaxed, and holy moly I have seen the light.
Urban Waxx is fantastic.
