The average person going into this shop is not treated friendly. The sales associate was very distant and snobby. Will not be going back.

Uptowne Papers was recommended by a guy at FedEx. Having just arrived from Indianapolis, I needed to get my friends’ wedding gift boxed and wrapped. I didn’t want to travel with it wrapped in case it would be damaged. I am also not great at wrapping, so I’d need to find a place for it to be wrapped. I had no idea where to go if I wasn’t buying the gift at the place to be wrapped. I found a flower shop, and they didn’t offer that service. Luckily, there was a FedEx across the street, so I could find a box(now a parking spot was another matter). The FedEx guy boxed the gift for me, and when I inquired about gift wrapping somwhere, he had only great things to say about UpTowne Papers. It was right around the block. When I walked in, I didn’t see much paper. I expected a shop full of different papers, stationary, wrapping paper, etc. Nope. It was like a little gift shop with some pretty gifts– glass stuff and *some* wrapping paper. I had just a few options for wrapping paper, and none of them were very wedding-ish. I chose a blue paper with a white print and gold ribbon. The associate told me it would cost $ 3 for the wrapping, but the actual paper and ribbon(which I had to buy– let me add that I did tell the woman I was visiting and had to fly– Why she sent me home with the rest of the wrapping paper, whatever.) — Everything all together was over $ 20. I kept the ribbon and actually wrapped some presents at home last night. But I left the wrapping paper at my hotel hoping that *someone* could make use of it because I sure as hell couldn’t bring it on the plane with me. The gift was beautifully wrapped, but the paper selection was so poor– And EXPENSIVE for what it was. Eh. While the associate wasn’t rude, she wasn’t terribly friendly. She kinda made me feel out of place.
