I really liked this place for gift shopping as there are a variety of goods at reasonable prices and the selection of costume jewelry and brooches is good.
Sadly, on my most recent trip, I noticed that some items had partially removed Goodwill price tags on the bottom. However, most disappointing was what I found upon returning home — price tags had been strategically placed to hide blemishes on items.
While you expect that antique items are likely to have imperfections, you should not have to expect that a seller would be using price tags to mask blemishes or damage. It’s dishonest and misleading to customers.
Buyers beware — check items FULLY before buying, including peeling back sticker price tags to check the condition (s) underneath the tag (s). It’s better to know what you are getting into before arriving home.

I came across Unique Antique when looking for something different than the regular selection in the area. Pat and the adorable Toulouse are certainly the stars of the show! I also inquired about selling jewelry and gold– Pat was really fair, showed me the exact calculations, and where he thought I might get a better return on some estate pieces he actually contacted an expert and brought him in so we could all meet. After several discussions with Pat I found him to be honest, not a pushy salesman, and the one thing I liked the best is his attitude. Most antique shop owners barely acknowledge your existence when you walk in the door. Pat has a true welcome for anyone who steps in and you can hear the smile in his voice– that goes a long way.

I discovered Pat, owner of Unique Antique over the sale of an antique ruby ring I had. Not only did Pat give me more than I asked for on the price of the sale, He showed me how to test the gold for its grade.
Pat also showed me the difference between costume jewelry and taught me how to process the going rate of gold and silver.
This little gem of a store, nestled in Sellwood, has the most eclectic and interesting collection of antique and collectibles.
If you wish to «unload» yourself of broken jewelry that’s lying around, this is the place to go. You really get top dollar and excellent service.
