Union Barber Co

I had a fantastic shave from Jeramie this morning. I am almost 65 and have been getting barbershop shaves regularly since I was 19, and this was one of the best I’ve ever had. Jeramie was truly gentle, thorough, and skilled, and he explained what he was doing during the process. I even really liked the smell of the aftershave. This was one of the best barber shave experiences of my life and I highly recommend Jeramie to anyone who’s a barber shave fan — or even wants to try it for the first time.

Like Bike Shops and Tattoo Parlors — Portland has a ton of Barber Shops to choose from. BUT WHICH ONE!!! It wasn’t an easy choice for me — as I hadn’t been to see a barber in 2.0 years. I was growing my hair out but about 1.50 months ago — I decided enough was enough. I wanted to go back to short. But I didn’t want any «comb over» or buzz cut! And I wanted someone who could do a GREAT fade on the sides! It was a big decision so I read alot of Unilocal reviews, shopped websites, talked to people and even visited a few shops. Finally, I decided to go with Union Barber Co. I made an appointment with Jeremy. First off — the shop is a great environment. A good mix of Old School and Modern vibes. Authentic is a good word to describe it. Secondly, the 4 guys were all friendly and professional from the get-​go. I immediately felt I made the right decision. I talked a bit with Jeremy about what I thought I wanted — and he started cutting one side. He even stopped and checked-​in to see if it was in the right direction. Bottom line — the haircut is DOPE. The FADE is smooth and well done! I highly recommend this shop for anybody looking for a «standard» cut or one that is more «cool». No matter your age! I am definitely going back — in fact made my follow up appointment before I left.

Wow what can I say, im very glad to see Union Barber Co. Rise from the ashes of another barber shop (that shall not be named). Jeramie has been cutting my hair since I moved to Portland in 2014. I don’t goto anyone else to get my haircut. They are all very well mannered and professional, and take their job very seriously. It’s been an adventure to see the shop grow and i look foward to many more cuts, and experiences, and events. I had to go out of town to a friend’s wedding back home and I trusted Noone else to take care of me. They are top of their class. A+ service, location, feel. Have a drink, take a seat, and walk out looking your best!

Wandered in off the street because I needed a haircut; got a great haircut, a beer, a shave and a massage at a very reasonable price. I think I’ll be going to these guys for all my hair-​cutting needs from now on.

Jeremy aka ‘The Cocoon’ will put Idaho on the map, his talents eclipse those of even the dopest potato. I entered a mere caterpillar and emerged a beautiful butterfly — for this I am eternally grateful.

I had the pleasure of having Christine to cut my hair. She has given me the cut of a life time. She took the time to artistically shape my hair and also nurture it. This place is no joke, they know how to cut. I will absolutely be back. My rating is an absolute 20 out of 10.

I was referred to Jeremy by my barber in Boise, Wendy at Beardsmith and man am I glad I found this shop! I was on vacation and needed a classic razor fade before a night on the town. Jeremy is a master at his craft and used small strokes which eliminated the razor burn or any ingrown hairs I typically get from razor fades. I’m writing this about two weeks after my haircut and it still looks sharp! Thank you Jeremy, this will definitely be my barbershop of choice when I move to Portland! They make you feel at home. Top notch service and style.

Kenny was my barber and I was able to book online the morning of for a, «STANDARD HAIRCUT.» Living Downtown there are a plethora of options to walk to to get a haircut. I have been to 4 others in the area, and this was by far the best experience I have paid for. It’s taken me an hour to write this review cause I keep stopping to look at myself in the mirror.
Like the Terminator and Link from Encino Man, I’ll be back.

Jeramie did a fantastic job and it was my first time in. He was a good listener as I rambled on about Real Estate stuff. I enjoyed the hot towel and the shave along with the mini massage at the end.
I also enjoyed the Guy at the front who got me in on short notice on a Friday.
The smell of the products was amazing and I will return again soon.

I just had a haircut here and I must say it is the best I have ever had. Ask for Kenny he is amazing and extremely talented. I will not be going anywhere else.

Walked by this place many times, decided to give them a try today. I was fairly shaggy so I went with the works. Cut and shave and beard trim. Came out looking really good. Jeremy was awesome and has a great attention to detail. I felt pampered, which to be honest, I don’t get to feel very often.

After reading the reviews of this place, I decided to book an appointment with Bill Collins to help me get ready for a workplace Christmas party that had a «Mad Men» theme to it.
I was warmly welcomed by the staff as soon as I arrived and was offered a drink of whiskey, beer, coffee or water. Bill greeted me and ushered me into the chair.
Not only is Bill a great conversationalist, but he’s an amazing hairstylist. My previous haircut was much more modern, with the sides short and long on top. Bill worked an hour to transform my hair from modern-​day to a 1960’s New York City vintage side part. It looks fantastic. He also used a warm towel and shaving cream for a shave of my neck using a straight-​razor, gave me a choice of three different aftershaves to apply (which all smell fantastic), and gave me a few practical tips for styling my hair.
Overall, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this barber shop. One of the biggest differences I noticed between Union Barber Company and Modern Man is that Union Barber Company is the lighting. Whereas I felt that Modern Man was a little dark, I really enjoyed the contrast that Union Barber Company has created by painting the walls white and installing lots of lighting. In a way, it says that the barbers at Union Barber Company have nothing to hide — the hair speaks for itself.
I highly recommend Bill Collins, and I definitely think that both he and Union Barber Company deserve a five-​star rating. I’ll be visiting again for my next haircut, without a doubt.

Great place!
First haircut that I’ve gotten in Portland that I truly thought was worth it. Kenny was knowledgable about different hair types and how to cut them. He spent a long time focusing on the little details that gave my hair a really polished look to it.
Bonus, was offered a drink upon entering.
I would definitely recommend Union Barber Co to anyone. I would especially recommend asking for Kenny.

My favorite barbershop in Portland with my favorite barber Bill Collins. Thanks to Bill, my beard has never looked better! Combined with an on-​point 1940s-​50s pompadour, I get lots of great compliments. Highly recommended.
