Just go to the gas station across the street.
This place is deserted for a reason. They charge an additional fee PER gallon for services they don’t actually provide — checking air/​oil.

This was the gas station I have been going to since moving to Portland. The last several times I have been there and told them to fill up the tank, it shuts off after 3 dollars worth of gas has been pumped. I have told them that I know the tank was not full as it was almost empty. They basically just looked at me and said «sorry».
I won’t go back.

Stopped here for gas and read this review while we were filling. I got out to investigate and discovered this is in case still the fact.
The full service island was only conservatively identified and the fuel was indeed 30 cents more per gallon.

The Rene T Neri 76(named as listed on 76 website) at NE 82^nd Ave & NE Fremont is the shadiest I gas station I have ever seen in my opinion. It’s common to see gas stations advertising different prices for cash and credit, but get this. this place has a separate island marked with a pillar marked «full service» charging 30 cents above the street sign price.
For those not familiar with the pump law in Oregon:
We can’t pump our own gas, so state law basically mandates the traditional definition of «full service».
At this station, If you just pull up to the «full service» island what you will get is the legally required attendant-​pumping and an opportunity to ask to have your oil checked for an additional 30cents/​gallon.
I felt this was very UNETHICAL. The attendant neither mentioned the additional services nor the higher price.
I fell for it. I asked for regular gas and had an attendant pump it, as required by law. When I got the receipt, I realized I was charged 30 cents/​gallon more than the street sign. When I complained, the attendant said it’s «full service». So I asked what that meant. His answer was that they’ll check your oil and tire pressure upon request.
While this drama was unfolding, another guy pulled up and pumped gas. I asked him if he realized he was being charged 30 cents more than the sign. He said no. I’m not surprised.
Just see the pictures to see what I mean. Unless you’re looking VERY closely, you could fall for this scam. If you’re an Oregonian, then it’s probably not part of your culture to look for normal vs full-​service islands.
The only thing they show is «full service» on pillars and definition of full service is shown as far as I can tell. The only way you know the actual price is by looking at the tiny screen above each type of fuel or your receipt after you fall for it.
I understand that «full service» of attendant pumping costing more in states where self-​pump is the norm,(i.e. everywhere, but OR and NJ) but in Oregon, there’s really no distinction between «full service» vs «normal service». In fact, I have never seen any other station in Oregon that covertly charge higher prices for «full service».
