In general, I’m a big fan of Tuesday Morning. I love the ‘hunt’ for various items that they may or may not have in stock at any given time. This location was very difficult to find. Even though I saw the sign on the shopping center’s store list from the street, we almost left after driving all around Target, Home Depot, etc. Then we spotted the little outparcel with Tuesday Morning. Even then, there’s no store until you climb down a flight of stairs or use the elevator. When Dad and I got to the downstairs entrance, there were two employees at the front counter chit-chatting. They never bothered to welcome/greet us or find out of we need any help. They had plenty of opportunity, too, because there was a 90% off table up front and we spent a few moments looking there. We didn’t happen to find anything to purchase today, but that’s the nature of the beast. It’s one of those places where«you never know», so I try to check them out as often as I can. On our way out, the same two gals were hanging out at the front counter and didn’t thank us for coming or invite us back. We won’t be back.

I would say that I am uninterested in over 90% of the store at any given time. But that’s not why you come here. You come here because you seek the 10% of the store you ARE interested in! I found a few items here that my wife and I love for our home, and they were heavily discounted. You sort of have to treat Tuesday Morning the way you would a Goodwill or a Salvation Army. Thankfully, unlike Goodwill and S.A., the items on sale at Tuesday Morning are brand new and do not smell bad. But like Goodwill and S.A. you come to a Tuesday Morning to poke around and see if you find something you like. The merchandise is constantly changing, so if you visit Tuesday Morning in October you may see entirely different stuff if you come here in December. Like I said, even if I’m completely uninterested in over 90% of the merchandise inside this store at any given time, it’s fun to poke around and locate the 10% you are interested in! And the prices are pretty darn good! I’d say I’m a fan.

I really like off price stores and I used to come here from time to time because they carry discontinued Madame Alexander Dolls at very good prices(almost everything else is crap, though) and my daughter collects them. I never found the service particularly good(overall Ross’s is friendlier), but that was okay given the type of store, etc. Unfortunately, today I discovered that they do not honor the ticketed prices on items, in full violation of Oregon state law. Your complaints(another woman was yelling about the same thing as we left) will fall on deaf ears. They will lie and say they don’t have to honor posted prices or advertised sales(not true) and do not care if it means losing your business forever. Or if their customer is a little girl spending her birthday money. But they will imply that YOU, the person spending their money probably put fake tags(even though it’s clearly theirs and untampered with) on the box. I’ve complained to their corporate offices and if they don’t care, I’ll file a consumer affairs complaint. There are other places that appreciate your business. Go there.

Tuesday Morning is kinda like the home departments at Ross and Marshalls(if they were expanded). It’s really quite a crap shoot on what you will find here. Good bets for purchases here: linens-especially items like mattress pads and pillows and pet items oddly enough. I have found other odd items-Nook case, computer sleeve, cleaning supplies and rugs. Know pricing well before going in-some items here aren’t just that good of a deal. Be prepared to spend some time looking around-there’s a lot of odd and ends here and some good sales.
