Nice place, plays good music hip hop and underground. Small but still. Its not for people who love generic type of music

Madeleine C’s reivew below is spot on. I used to really enjoy this place, but it’s pathetic the level of service you get now. Especially from the bouncers. Y’all need to learn what JOGGERS are and catch up with the rest of civilization. Hint: they are not sweatpants, they cost $ 200 more than your bargain-bin slacks, do yourself a favor and research streetwear before you step to your clientele with such ignorance BYE

Super disappointing. Tube became one of my regular spots recently, but each and every time there has been just one more thing that added towards the negativity I have for them. There’s too many details to list but the reader’s digest version is this: The staff believes that they are literally just too good for absolutely anyone and everyone around them. It starting getting comical around the time that the girl bartender there seemed more interested in dancing and flirting with her coworker, than taking one or two measly little drinks orders. Also, the security is a joke. They are rude to both male and females alike. It’s like they don’t want anyone to come back. So I guess you can expect to have a good time if you can look past the zero f**** that the staff gives about you being a paying customer.

After three nights in a row of playing video games in my cave, I decided to come out of hiding. My friends were going to Tube and at the last minute I threw on some«normal» people clothes and went out. At first, the name«Tube» just seemed odd. Silly. Why was it called Tube? Was it some reference to YouTube? Was it a space themed club with sci-fi or futuristic décor? The answer to all of that was no. It was literally just a long room with a bar and some tables with booths attached to the walls. I guess it was sort of a tube-shape? I still have no idea why it is called Tube. Anyway, the drinks were averagely priced for being downtown/Chinatown in Portland at a lounge or club. The lights were bright but the place was dim. If that makes sense. Music was decent. The DJ played some old school rap/hip hop, pop, and newer dance EDM/radio music type stuff. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. Most people were dancing and it was a diverse group. Definitely enjoyed myself as I brought back my jr. high dances move for Nsync and then found my groove to Mac Dre. Good times.

We were one of two couples here, on a Wednesday night but when there’s good music and great company and perfect drinks, that’s all you really need. We had an awesome time! The bartenders, and Dj were funny and chill and by the end of the night we made friends with the other couple.

The best Tube ever! Keep in mind that I am a veteran bartender, and jaded by the scene… I’ve been to Tube through their many incarnations. I’m talking sweaty hipster-group party in the bathroom days. The Da Club days and everything in between the last ten years. By far the newest makeover and product is the best ever. All the good parts of a big club(which are few, but Tube has them) combined with the intimacy of a lounge. Best place to dance in China Town… by leaps and bounds. Great DJ program. Agreeable, simple and efficient bar program, done very well. Solid staff(bar and security), remember Respect gets Respect. Tube is definite must any night of the week if you have a pulse and are in PDX and want to dance in a fun and safe atmosphere all while avoiding the stereotypical pseudo-thugs, hipster d-bags and traditional bro d-bags.

Tube isn’t your average nightlife spot. Tube is a place were you come to have a great night out with your best friends. Looking for a place to watch some of the best DJs in PNW? Come out to Tube. Yeah sure you can go across the street to Dirty and wait in line for a sausage fest but why deal with that when going in to Tube meaning leaving with a smile on your face cause you rocked the night away with great soundtrack. The drinks are stiff, the music is on point and the people… the people are great. So next time you’re heading downtown and you want to know where you should start your night or end your night… make your way toward Tube, you won’t regret it!

The tube can be a fun once every once In a while bar. It used to be hipster city and seems to have evolved into something much more main stream hip. It’s very small and the drinks are strong. There is always a line out the door to get in on the weekend. It’s very small but definitely an experience that is worth a try.

It’s not what it used to be, that’s for sure… I have been coming here for 10 years. It’s now a garbage dance club like the rest of this city has been slowly turning into.

Security sucks. The bartenders are cool but Tyler and Tyrone are ass holes. These two are the security. Its 11:30 and they almost dodnt let me in. I was the DD. I dodnt deink and they were racial profiling probably. Its a bunch of crap. This place sucks. $ 5.00 cover, ass hole security, and ghetto clients.

Really nice music/drinks. I went here over the Thanksgiving Holiday, staying at The Nines downtown. While barhopping, I checked out the Tube(oh yeah, the cab ride was an f’n ripoff, Portland needs Über and Lyft). I grew up in Portland and I remember Tube being a little dirty/ghetto/etc, but was pleasantly surprised by the upgrades in everything. Walked in a bit early so it was more chill, a few cougars that were already drunk dancing. Had a few drinks, pretty cheap, don’t remember how much exactly but I’m used to LA prices so it wasn’t too bad. DJ played some really nice tracks, even dropped some Legend of Zelda mix if I recall correctly with some hip hop I bumped in high school and college. Got more crowded throughout the night, but it was a weekday so it didn’t get too insane. If I lived downtown, it’d probably be one of my jump off spots.

Pros: Convenient location, Stiff drinks, Females, live– DJ, really casual dress code. Cons: This place is entirely too small for anyone over the height 5’10. There’s nowhere to dance, there is nowhere to move really. When it’s crowded people bump into you spilling your drink. No pool table, Prices aren’t worth it just pre-funk before going.

This is a great place to go if you want to kick back and hear some good music. They have very reasonably priced drinks and great customer service. The crowd was very chill and diverse. We definitely had some fun and look fwd to going back.

I have been going to the tube since 2009. It has always been a good spot to visit in downtown. Tuesdays are good here along w weekends. I can really do without the asian bartender chicks attitude though. Don’t get into the service industry if you don’t want to provide customer service. First time I noticed was a few months back. Then I go in recently and things haven’t changed. Still giving off attitude towards customers. I purposely avoided her and gladly ordered from a young African American gentleman who was very nice to me. I don’t get it. It’s not hard to take a drink order without giving attitude. I will continue to come to the tube and avoid this chick if she’s working. Btw, I always tip nicely, so don’t stick up for her and try to justify her attitude.

The new owner is a class act who knows his shit, from the drinks to the music to the recently reintroduced interior. Great place to go when you want to avoid the typical Portland crowd and just want to hear some good music and get very reasonably priced drinks. With that being said, don’t try to walk in wearing flip flops. Idiot.

Now that this spot is under new ownership and renovated it can fully grow as a prime time spot to be at when venturing dt. Its not too small where you are invading another dude’s cologne bubble and not too huge to be a douchey mega lounge. Its juuuuuuust riiiiight. The music is always on point, progressive and still manages to sneak in classic booty shaking jams that make you stop and say oh shit I’m dancing to that?! You sneaky s.o.b. All ‘n all Tube has Dope djs, solid staff and decently priced libations. No cover(please keep it that way unless Ztrip etc… is playing) and a short line before usual turn up time. Go here party here and shake your ass here. Booyah.
