The prices are as expected. One of those single sleeves of cookies sells for over 3 bucks. The interior of the store is less than desirable and there’s usually only one clerk working, so sometimes the line gets to be a tad bit long and awkward as, after about three people, the line backs into an isle of candy and what not. But hey, which convenience store isn’t like that??? The couple that works/owns this joint, are hard workers, friendly, knowledgable about the neighborhood and polite with anyone. They’re not originally from America, you can tell from the accent which makes me appreciate even more that they treat all their customers well. As in, they’re cool with everyone that walks in. Which brings me to my next point, the shoppers here are from all walks of life with many different backgrounds. I’m Native American, there’s a strong black history in this area, there’s hipsters gentrifying as usual and mamas/papas coming in to buy detergent for their laundry(the market is like a block away from the neighborhood laundromat, Kenton laundry). This store has beer, wine, snacks, cigarettes, e cigs, those bob Marley iced teas and other little things you might need in a pinch if you’re living in the neighborhood like toilet paper or toothpaste. Good store, five star friendliness, five star fun neighborhood and 4.5 star prices.

This is not your average convenience store. The family who own and operate the Triple Crown are so friendly. They have basic convenience store items and more. We are fortunate to have this store in our neighborhood.

I love this place and the family that owns it. They make Kenton feel like a nice and safe small town. They know who I am and always make a point to ask me how work was or how I am in general. The wine selection is decent for a corner market, and they have individual ciders too. I use to think it was over priced but compared to the 7 – 11 down the street they are doing just fine.

Brian R. said it perfectly. Nice little convenience store run by very sweet people. I wouldn’t drive across town to go here, but if you’re in Kenton and need beer or snacks, stop in!

Nice privately owned mini mart. Always greeted with smiles. The couple running the place has a nice report with their local customers.

Understand something, this is a local neighborhood grocery store. Your not going to find Quinoa and shitake mushrooms here; its the sort of store one runs into to pick up minor items; batteries, milk, snacks, phone cards if you calling overseas, things like that. If you heading home or to a friends nearby, it does have a good selection of beer and decent price. Two frequent bus lines, #4& #6, stop outside the shop and you can see the Kenton MAX train from the store entrance 2 short blocks up. The family behind the counter are the sweetest people; friendly, always a smile and never seen them pop off at a customer,(I’ve been in here enough times to know that). If you read the one negative review of this place, you can see the chip on the shoulder so clear ya own computer screen mighta cracked. If anything, the people in the store are too nice to be that mean-spirited. Last note, theres a Damn good bunch a restaurants within a 2 block radius.

I used to go here regularly, and the owners were always very friendly. Much nicer to deal with than the apathetic teenagers staffing 7 – 11. The only downside is an extra charge for using credit cards for purchases under $ 10. I can understand why they do it, though.

just had to write to counter that one star review. dude, get off your high horse, this is a beer store, you don’t come here for groceries, go to New Seasons for that! it’s a perfect fit next to the Up In Smoke head shop and the liquor store. some of us like to enjoy ourselves. :-) and it’s not dirty or disorganized at all, don’t know where you’re getting that… anyway, the beer selection is really pretty good here, and covers the whole spectrum from quality microbrews to malt liquor you’ve never heard of. the couple who run this store are so friendly, making the place a community hub. i’ll always go here before Plaid Pantry(unless it’s really late at night, because Triple Crown closes at 10pm).

This place is a miserable excuse for a business. The owner takes no pride in his establishment. The inside is in complete disarray and the outside looks like no one has cared for it in years. Everything is dirty and it makes me question the sanitary conditions inside their coolers where they store the milk and eggs. The locals only seem to come in for beer, cigarettes, and blunts. This place is a holdover from old Kenton(without a better way to express it) pre-gentrification.
