When I witnessed my first tony starlight show performance I admit I was even keel to the fact that there are so many cool spots in Portland that aim for a professional & exciting live performance. However, having explored several recommended spots of incarnation to a dinner theatre experience, I have to say: This place is T to the O to the P notch in set up & follow thru. It’s a place that encourages a special ambiance. When Tony acknowledged the couple that were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary to take a bow or the birthday folks in the crowd to enjoy the spotlight, I was amazed. Everyone thoroughly has a moment to live vicariously in the spotlight. How cool! Now I need to convince my friends to take me here on MY birthday! I have enjoyed the shows & food here many times since & feel it’s a great spot to check out a future gem. It has a romantic aspect or if you’re looking for convivial family style dining experience it holds the deck on that. Also, I like to spend my money wisely & have found the Tony Starlight Showroom worth my duckets . Can’t wait for the next awesome show!

My wife and I and another couple attended the dinner show Why Can’t You Stay Dead on Saturday May 21st at the Tony Starlight Showroom. The show was great but overpriced, especially considering how terrible the food was. The dinner was catered by Spin catering and the only thing edible was the antipasto. They should appear on Channel 12 Dirty Dining. The pasta was served luke warm with a tomato sauce that was obviously straight out of a jar. Does anyone know how to report a catering business to the Multnomah County Food Inspectors? And most of the meatballs were almost raw, red through the center, and couldn’t be eaten! I think that was the reason I spent part of the night on the toilet. If this is any indication of this venue’s service, it is the first and last time we will attend. If it was possible to give a lower rating, I would give it a negative 5 stars!

The old location had such better vibe. We’ve been pleased with a number of shows throughout the years, unfortunately, last night’s «Why Can’t You Stay Dead?» was a big miss. It was over-the-top yelling, bad timing on jokes, and the whole Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding schtick just didn’t do it for me. I didn’t conduct a formal poll, but the crowd atmosphere somewhat confirmed this. The 12 songs were wonderful, a few spectacular. Guess I’m more partial to a musical review. The food was meh, bread was nice and hot. Servers were super, very kind. The actors tried to make sure you were having a good time. A few us commented on the tall ‘40s looking hostess, she had just a tinge of attitude(and it wasn’t part of the act.) In the end, this is great venue for Portland, and I so hope they provide us more laughs in the future.

Had been to the Christmas show at their old location on Sandy a few years ago and had a really great time so decided to check them out at their newish current location which is a much larger and nicer space. Went on Friday to The Soft Rock Seventies show and had yet another fantastic time. Tony and all the rest put on a really fun and funny show and back it up with some great vocals and band. Everybody young, old and everywhere in between seemed to know all the words to all the songs and were encouraged to sing along. There is even a dance floor which got put to good use. We opted for the dinner tickets and the food was good and filling. Cocktails were very resonantly priced and packed a decent punch. My vodka and soda were only $ 6.00 each which was much less than I was expecting. We had such a great time our cheeks hurt from laughing and smiling so much. I hope to go to another Christmas show this year and maybe even the 80’s show they are putting on in April. I highly recommend a visit to a Tony Starlight show. If you don’t have fun there, you probably don’t know how have fun!

This showroom is perfect for the Tony Starlight show, as well as a fantastic venue to book for wedding receptions & birthday parties. Allow me to discuss both for a moment. First, if you’ve never seen the Tony Starlight Show, treat yourself & your better half to a really fun show & dinner! You will be highly entertained and this is a great way to break the normal dinner cycle and do something different. Tony is an incredible performer! Secondly, this is a magnificent venue to book for smaller to moderate sized wedding receptions & birthday parties, as well as any other event you may want. Steve & Spin catering are the ones who take care of all your needs and they have always been a pleasure to work with! Steve is the kind of guy that will personally take care of whatever it is your heart desires, and make sure everything is executed to perfection. I’m not embellishing this one bit. Talk with this man for 5 minutes and you will see he is extremely passionate about what he does. He really strives to make everyone around him feel comfortable and makes sure all of their needs are accommodated.

Neil Diamond show was amazing. Great music, awesome voice and just a fun evening overall. We will be back again soon.

There should be way more reviews about how fantastic this show is. Tony is a great entertainer: Funny, approachable, and a tremendous singer. He knows how to work the room. Plus he’s got a good band backing him up, with a great piano player as the band leader. We didn’t have food so I can’t speak to that, but the drinks were good. $ 5 a beer could be way worse. All in all, was a great date night out. If only the a-holes next to us would have shut the F up.

Have been to both locations & somehow the show got better! Went to a Rat Pack tribute w/dinner included. Tony was amazing; funny, charismatic and smooth voice. I got beef & salmon dish; good. My fiancé got veggie dish, stuffed red pepper; alright. We miss the garlic fries which were to die for. Drinks are reasonably priced. Only gave it 4 stars b/c they need a dance floor. PLEASE consider a dance floor. Also the seats are what you sit in at a conference/hotel which takes away from the authenticity of a supper club. All in all, it is money well spent. Definitely.

For $ 30(price of a general admission ticket) I’d say there’s nary a better entertainment deal in town. Tony Starlight puts on a fully entertaining, fun, funny lounge act highlighting some of the legendary greats in lounge acts. I happened to go on a very special night, the one year anniversary of their move to this new location. Side note, I never went to the old location so I can’t compare. But on this night, he did a little bit of every tribute show he does, so we got everything from Dean Martin to 80’s. And it was all great. They go heavy on the theme here, and the audience, at least during this special show, trended toward the age of folks who were around for the original versions of which this show is tribute. That said, it didn’t at all detract from the time we had. Drinks are plenty(and not so spendy for a show-type situation). Service is on point. And Tony himself works the crowd before and after the show. It’s impossible to describe this show, suffice to say that if you like entertainment and have an open mind, you may find your mind blown. Come ready to have fun. I can’t speak to the food. For my money, the $ 30GA style is much more my speed. I’ll definitely be back!

I was invited to come for the 1-year anniversary and the show is fantastic! So is the food, but the show is not to be missed.

I just want to say that this was the best show I’ve been to in a long time. Tony Starlight is an exceptional singer as well as a hilarious comedian. I enjoyed the entire show. Not a dull moment. Dance moves and costumes on point. The band is amazing. People don’t realize how much work it is to put on an amazing show like this. Often people only see the front man, but each and every member of the band was terrific. Making the songs smooth and entertaining. The venue it’s self is pretty cool. I like the old Hollywood Décor and the arrangement of seating and stage are well thought out. The catering I thought was great. Everything that we had was delicious. The drinks were nice and strong. I preferred the Portland Ice Tea. My friend enjoyed the whiskey selection. All the way around awesome show. I can’t wait to go again.

The Good: Tony always puts on an amazing show; always fun and delightfully entertaining. Tony recently moved and the new seating arrangement is much more spacious granting everyone a good view of the stage now. The new communal-style round tables w/8 chairs, make it easy to chat with other guests and since Tony draws the best crowds, it’s a pleasure to talk with other guests on our visits. There is sufficient lot parking(off-street) available which is nice, but beware of Mad Dogs(see«the bad» below). The bathrooms are clean and decorated in Hollywood regalia. YES — They have Gluten Free options listed on the snack menu, including gluten free crackers for dips, and some items can be made gluten free upon request. Catering staff is helpful in accommodating gluten free/customized meal requests. Favorite Food: Spinach Artichoke Dip w/Gluten free crackers Delicious Drink: Portland Tea(a spin on the Long-Island iced tea) — Advice: Try it with club soda/lemon juice instead of coca cola. Favorite Tony Shows/Impressions: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. The Bad: Tony shares a parking lot with Mad Dogs, and signs warn of Mad Dogs towing your car if you park on their side. Tony’s new admission and meal prices increased significantly. Because Tony now utilizes a catering company, the new menu is limited, so you only have your choice of 3 dinners and some appetizers. Tony’s signage is hard to see. The lit-up sandwich signs are only out on show nights and are barely visible from the street. Special Notes: 1) Be prepared — If you’re celebrating a birthday on your visit, be sure to bring a list of your favorite songs so Tony can sing one/part of one for you. 2) If you can’t find a good outing in Portland on the events calendar, be sure to take a look at Tony’s website as his shows don’t appear on the Portland event lists.

So I quaver on this review. Tony the actual Neil Diamond impersonator rocks! He does a great job with the songs and the humour is there. This is about the dinner experience by «Spin Catering.» It is $ 60 for the dinner show. The choices were a chicken pasta dish, stuffed squash and«steak.» Our steak came gray, unchewable, my birthday guest spit it out in her napkin as refuse. The vegetables were out of a bag and over-cooked to a greyish pulp. The waitress took a lot of time to know us individually asking our names and chalking us up. She one, mistook pinot noir as a «blush» chilled wine. My friend had to correct her before said lady received a dark red. There are drink specials on the table for $ 9. My manhattan was well done. My friend ordered a splt of champagne, upon wanting another she asked the price. Fine so we are cost concious and switched to vodka. That being said, my friend also was celebrating a bday and asked for a 2nd piece of very good cheese cake. The bill came, there was a $ 7 charge for the cheesecake… the waitress didn’t mention this??? My friend asked, the gal said she had no control of the kitchen and the drinks and food are from separate catering biz’. Well Tony thanked the food and drink to «Spin Catering.» Step up the food and educate your service a bit for their own benefit of the tip.

Best Night ever, in a long time. For the last couple of years every time I remembered we wanted to go here, the Christmas show was sold out. Somehow the Christmas miracles everyone speaks of this time of year, found its way to me. We made the list, ironically, the night before the tickets went on sale. The down side, is when they called me the next day, every single night we wanted(Saturday) were gone and we took the first Friday opening they had. December 12th. We had front row center tables. The dinner choice was salmon, steak or a vegan meal. I had the steak, it was okay. There was gravy over sliced steak, not a fan of gravy in the first place, so I wasn’t really impressed with that. The veggies were overcooked. But honestly, we were here for the show, and the dinner seemed like an a bonus. However, at $ 75 a ticket you want to be happy. We had salad and dessert included in that meal. However, we ordered refills of iced tea, not knowing that there are no refills. So, in the end we got hit with a $ 24 drink bill. Tony Starlight is funny and the show was entertaining. Every my son and his wife had a good time, proving that even 20 somethings and up can enjoy the show. He has plenty of other show to pict from during the year, so we may be going back. Remember book early for the holiday season!

Address is 1125SEMADISON, not 125. Across from Jolly Roger and next to Madison Grill. Could use more lights in the parking lot. Great entertainment, good food. What’s not to love!
