Best Thai food in the city! Rich, flavorful, and great portions. I especially love the Pineapple Fried Rice, Phad Thai, and Pumpkin Curry. If it were closer to me, I’d go there all the time!

Nice location and parking. Excellent service. Basil Thai Fried Rice was way too oily. I base most of my rating on the food quality. Don’t know why so much oil is required.

4 star quality, 3 star portions. We’ve gotten take-out from here since the day they opened, probably 2x/month. The food is excellent, but the portions have shrunk while the price has gone up — not a good combination. There’s either less of the the food in the containers or lots of sauce and very little protein and veggies. Bummer.

I live close so this is my go-to for Thai food when I don’t want to go far. I usually pick up take out. It’s good food for a decent price.

I love Tom Yum! The food and service has been consistently great, always awesome and pretty big portions. I love the drunken noodles and tom-kha(tom-kha is fun because they serve it flaming). They were slammin busy when we went in and a little short staffed but that didn’t stop our waitresses from kicking butt and being a superstar!

Our go to Thai spot. Consistently good food and consistently good service. Always delicious!

We’ve been coming here for years and were big fans of their food. However, on our most recent visit to pick up take out, our opinion changed greatly. We had called in our order and then had to wait 20 minutes after the time we were told for the food to be ready. They had issues with a credit card machine, were unapologetic, and unhelpful. Despite the good food, the really poor service is making it so we will not be visiting again. Hopefully they will make some effort to improve in the future. In the meantime, they’ve lost a regular customer.

The food here is fine, nothing special, but what really gets my one star review is that if you have a card with a chip in it you can’t use it here. I attempted to use two different cards to pay for my meal and both times they said there was either something wrong with the card or I didn’t have enough money to pay for the transaction. I called my bank and they said the issue was that the merchant needed to have me enter my PIN to complete the transaction. I attempted to explain this to them, but they refused to try the cards again and I had to call my wife to get her to pay over the phone. The whole process took more than 25 minutes of me standing around while they dithered. They made me feel like I was a criminal trying to pull one over on them, but it was really their incompetence that was the issue. I will never, ever patronize this establishment again after the shabby way I was treated here.

The worst service ever. Didn’t even try the food. Came across the street to Bai Mint instead and had a great meal. You would think that with at least 2 other Thai places less then a block away Tom Yum Thai Cuisine would have been a little more thoughtful. Never going back.

You only need to know one thing: Hot basil fried rice with chicken.(you can get it mild, medium, or hot) Nothing else matters, but if you must know everything else is good too. Used to get it once a week when I was in the neighborhood, now I’ve cut back a bit but nobody does it like Tom Yum!

I went here on a rainy day after having pretty much tried to eat myself out of house and home. Nothing in the cupboard would satisfy, so my roommate headed out into the night to see what we could find. The roommate had been here before and wanted to have it again so I tagged along, stomach growling for something. The interior looks like it hasn’t been updated since about ’79. It has a very kitschy, cool, retro vibe going on. Wood paneling and carving as far as the eye can wander. The noise level was high, but not so high as to be unbearable. And even for a late weeknight, the place was packed, but we didn’t wait long for a table though. Which was excellent, because the smell was making me lightheaded. The menu, while extensive and sounding like nirvana(small«n»), didn’t hold my interest, I raised my head to look at the chalkboard with the specials and found it: Chicken with Green Curry(you actually have a choice of curries, but I picked green). It was light and brothy. The spice was at a good heat level, strong enough to warm you but not so hot as to make you feel like you were in a sauna. With some of the sauce condiments that they offer, it was mind bending food. The food was amazing. Truely. It was a bit of a wait to get it, but OMG it was so worth it. This place is wonderful for just a quick bite of Pad Thai or something a little more adventurous. I’ll be going back soon.

This is simply some of the best, most flavorful Thai food Portland has to offer. If you truly love Thai food, you will not be disappointed.

Reliably good Thai food. I often get take out because they’re quit and reliable.

I’m not a huge Thai fan(I hate spicy food) but my friend was craving it so we tried Tom Yum. It was great! Fast and friendly service and the pork noodle was so tasty I think I finished it without taking a breath! He had spicy drunken noodles, which were insanely spicy, but he enjoyed it. Definitely will be back!

27Nov15 @ around 11:30am. Red curry with shrimp and beef with vegetables. red curry was tasty and had just the right heat. beef with vegetables was average. nice décor. good service. got very busy right after we ordered. good prices especially compared to most places these days where everything is $ 12.

Not incredible, but it’s good food and they give well-sized portions. Very consistent & service is pretty good too.

Visiting from Texas. Wanted to get an idea of what the Thai food was like compared to back home. Not super impressed. The Tom Ka was decent but spicer than expected, which masked the coconut flavor. The drunken noodles were really greasy and lacked veggies and the flavorful taste of basil. Overall mediocre, there is a noddle place across the street called Nudi, maybe a better choice?

I would give them 5 stars but the only thing that keeps me from that is the fact that it seems like the only vegetable they have in the kitchen is onions. It doesn’t matter what dish you order, it comes loaded with one or two sliced onions to make up for the lack of vegetables and meat. So far the food is salty and condensed in flavor which prevents you from enjoying it.

Very friendly family run establishment.(Depending on what you get) it is well worth the 12 $ you will pay. I personally got the flaming beef($ 11.95) and i thought it was worth the time and money. The rice comes in a separate bowl so that you can put whatever sauces you want on it. The beef comes hot and well done(literally). I think it had enough meet to justify the high price unlike most asian, Mexican food chains. Definitely will consider coming agin.

Service is often shoddy, but this food is the best Thai in the Woodstock area. Bai Mint is better for take out, but dammit if Tom-Yum doesn’t win the Yum contest. They have some dishes you can’t get elsewhere, involving seasonal fruits, ie. mango, papaya(not papaya salad), coconut, etc. But above all, their sticky rice is #1. Ever. In Portland, Oregon, the US, the world, the universe. I said it. Did I mention that I have Thai family? Probably. Probably 100 times. I still throw that card out there. Few people can beat my aunt’s thai dishes. Seriously. It’s the stuff dreams are made of. You won’t know until you try it. And then you’ll be in rice rehab. Despite the shitty service I’ve had here and the sweet & sour pork with NO pork in it, the sticky rice has bumped them up to 4 stars.
