Toddler House PDX

Montessori schools are plentiful in Portland, but we had a tough time finding one to care for our young son. Toddler House PDX takes kids as soon as they can walk, up through preschool age, and cares for the children in a home environment divided into two age groups. The older kids do more straight up Montessori works and the younger children do Montessori-​style play with a bit of structure (circle time, shared meals and snacks, etc). The directress Cam is a wonderful educator, and her staff members are loving and kind to the children. The families who enrolled in this program were amazing, and became friends! I didn’t expect that. And our kids seemed to thrive in the Toddler House program.
While there is generally a waiting list to get into this program (with good reason), Cam worked with our schedule and my son’s needs when he dropped a nap, needed some time off, etc. I really appreciated the accommodation, as I got a very different institutional vibe from some of the larger programs nearby (Growing Seeds, for one).
A wonderful care program with a bit of an educational twist, Toddler House is a great place in Woodlawn to entrust your walker-​toddler-​preschooler in a program that will grow with him/​her.
