There’s a handful of places in Portland open after 2AM, and while I’ve never seen it busy enough to consider this«a place to go,» the Tik Tok shouldn’t be counted out — especially since it has a full bar. The full menu is served late into the very early morning, so you and your friends can get a table full of breakfast, lunch and dinner — and literally, you will get a table full of food. Nearly all of the entrees come with salad/soup and a dinner roll, it’s a proper meal that you get. They have pies and other specials that vary by day of week and time of year, too. The last night my friends and I were in, one of the cooks handed out ribs to everyone to taste test for the next day’s dinner special. The service is always pleasant and reasonably quick, too. If you’re really lucky, a visitor from the no-tell motel across the parking lot will pay a visit — seriously, one time a guy walked in wearing nothing but his underwear! A Portland evening at its finest.

This place knows how to serve breakfast. I only mention breakfast because that’s the only meal I have eaten there. The portions are enormous and the price is great. Coffee is better than your average diner coffee and they never let ur cup get empty. Courtney has been our waitress every Sunday my wife and I go in and she’s super. We have had the tik tok scramble the short stack of pancakes omelettes and other things and nothing has been a disappointment. I would skip the toast and go straight for the biscuit it is the size of Andre the Giants hand I’m not kidding. If u want grt food grt service and a fun place Tik Tok is the place to be.

Might have been the waitress’s first day. I don’t know. As I waited for my new friend, the waitress hovered nervously. I ordered coffee as I waited, trying to calm my mind before eating. Paying attention to my breathe. The silhouette of the waitress bouncing around. Diner coffee and the comfort of the booth both hit the mark. Belgian waffle combo with homefries. Poached egg bacon Belgian waffle tacos with aardvark hot sauce. Delightful. P. s. Please refill my water. «What are you ready for?»(The waitress asks) We’re just trying to have breakfast I say.

I’ve been to the Tik Tok twice and I’ve enjoyed it both times. My food was delicious and filling. The staff was friendly both times. I truly enjoy going and look forward to going again. PRO-TIP: when ordering the Teriyaki Chicken Burger, ask for the teriyaki in a side cup, they were very… …generous on my sandwich. I love me some teriyaki, but even I have a limit. If you like diner food then this is the place for you.

A solid 3 stars — For its location(clears throat) The food is really good. Its bar food by any way you slice it but its good home-y food. It was hot and the drinks were cold. Bathrooms could use some work but hey… its open 24 hours and the prices are very reasonable. I would eat there again for sure.

great beer fries, very good service, good value. For a diner with a bar I dig it.

Although this place may have many negative reviews, i can say our experience was different. This is our first time eating here since a buddy of mine suggested we go eat here since he thought the food was good, so we did. I got the combo breakfast and i can say it was pretty good. I loved their hash brown! The only complaint that i have is that my sausages and bacon was super burnt and they still served it to me and i thought for real? But other than that, our sever was good and food was too!

The hash browns are good. But late night service is below par as expected. My French toast was bland, my eggs that were over easy, resembled the spec version of runny eggs. I’ve never been afraid to eat eggs but these were so undercooked I couldn’t do it. I’d give this place another shot but only if I was desperate or drunk or both.

Awesome breakfast, fast service and I second the huge portions. Try the country fried steak!

This place is awfull. We sat ourselves, with only two other customers in the entire place. Waitress walked past our table, saying«it’ll be a while». We sat there for another 5 minutes watching her screw around behind the counter. We overheard the cook tossing some mildly distasteful sexual harassment around in the background, asking her if shes being a naughty girl and whatnot. After about 5 minutes, receiving what seemed like dirty looks at our table and no service at all, we had to leave. Avoid this place at all costs. Its the absolute worst.

Day 4 and I’m at the hospital because of eating at Tik Tok. Apparently the food poisoning killed my immune system and made me very susceptible to the flu. Eating at Tik Tok has cost me 4 days of my life, pain, misery and made me have to cancel our 26th anniversary plans last Monday. AVOIDTHISPLACEUNLESSYOUWANNABEPOISONED!

This is a good place to come for basic, diner breakfast or brunch. I come here from time to time with my wife or alone around brunch o’clock usually on a weekend. The staff have always been friendly and attentive and the food is consistent. The area is a bit sketchy but I’ve never felt threatened and the place is fairly clean inside. There have even been times that a crew of us popped in at the wee hours after a night of drinking and all seemed well with the service, food and clientele. Again I stress that this is a diner. If you stray from breakfast or sandwich items, you may not enjoy your meal no matter what time of the day it is. And if you take tri-met, be aware that once you leave the restaurant, you’re gonna be waiting at a rough bus stop due to the motels near by, so be aware of your surroundings.

My brother and I ate here last week and we were both not impressed. Not with the atmosphere, the waitstaff or the food. His steak came rare when he asked for medium, my alfredo was very watered down with very little cream or cheese. In fact I had to finish making the alfredo at my booth, asking for ingredients to punch it up so that it was edible. At which point the waiter said, «it isn’t Olive Garden, but we do the best we can.» To that I thought… hmmm I didn’t think that the Olive Garden was the way to gauge how to cook noodles and sauce but okay. The next table over the patrons were talking about keeping their«b*tches in line» which Im assuming had to do with the variety of women who kept coming in and giving them money from the streets. Then when we left the establishment on gentleman went into the place brandishing a gun looking for«Brenda». I don’t think we’ll ever be back, in fact most of the time we were there we feared for our lives– SVJ

Great breakfast place with tv with football. Big omelette meat lovers with crispy hash browns that were perfect. Biscuits and gravy are good as well. I recommend for breakfast and Bloody Mary bar– make your own!

Great 24hr diner dive in a semi sketch part of town! What more could you ask for? If you enjoy stiff drinks, eating a shit ton of food for a modest price, and getting free entertainment from the random crazies or hookers then Tik Tok is your new favorite spot. Your welcome.

The waitresses here are rude. Like C U Next Tuesday rude! The food is mediocre. Worst hash browns in Portland. Never coming back.

I grew up in New York, a place known for its generous selection of diners. A rule of thumb I have developed for places with… an ambitious menu containing pages upon pages of food items(such as Tik Tok’s menu) is that you REALLY need to keep it simple. Obviously, they can make whatever is on the menu, but by picking some obscure little shit they threw on there because they could, you can guarantee you won’t be too excited about it. More specifically, I think of diners as breakfast or burgers only despite what their menus may suggest. If you veer too far from those areas, you’ll probably be disappointed. Speaking of those two categories, I can’t say I have ever had a burger here because let’s be real… THEYHAVE24HOURBREAKFAST. Why would I order anything else?! In fact, why would anyone order anything else?! Grab yourself some eggs and hash browns if you want to enjoy yourself, ya goober. Plus, it’s great if you’re hungry since the portions are large! As for the actual establishment/ambiance/environment, it’s fine… because it’s a diner. It’s not trying to impress you or wow you. It’s just trying to feed you(and maybe booze you up a bit too). I’ve taken a car full of drunken fools here, I’ve been here with an ex boyfriend after one of his late night security shifts and I’ve even been here by myself. I’ll take this time to say I think everyone’s being a little bit harsh about the sketchiness factor. I’ve never felt uncomfortable or unsafe or creeped out or grossed out. Sure, it’s not the cleanest place ever and with any late night establishment, you’ll get some interesting folks, but it’s really not that bad. I can’t say I’ve ever had crappy service here either. I wasn’t getting chatted up the waitress or anything, but she did her job politely and effectively every time I’ve been here, so really, what else can I ask for? All in all, eliminate the hipster/edgy factor of The Roxy downtown and you get Tik Tok. It is what it is. Embrace it in all its simplicity. Also, as I stated before, order breakfast food. It’s pretty awesome here.

This place is a 24 hour diner. I went there by myself at 4 am on a weekday. There was only one other person besides me at the bar. I ordered steak and eggs. pretty average, nothing fancy. the host was nice. Cant say what the service is like on weekends…

Tik Tok time is up! Being a Libra I want to think I have some sense of fair-mindedness. Meaning, weighing the high Unilocal ratings for this restaurant against the fact that this place is located on 82nd and has a bunch of neon signs for light beer in its window. I think the weight scale I used was busted and it errantly led us to Tik Tok. We walked in on a Saturday morning and it seemed OK, several people were having coffee or eating breakfast at the booths in the front. A young woman behind the counter with long wavy hair looked at us, then with a haughty flip of her hair, walked away to the bar in the back. We saw another guy moving around behind the counter and he pointedly ignored us too. Another guy carrying a tray of dishes and walking toward us also managed to avoid eye contact. I looked over to the bar and saw wavy-haired Wanda looking back at us with an inscrutable expression. JP and I stood there at the entrance for five minutes. An older guy who was sitting at the counter looked at us with a helpless look and shrugged his shoulders. He was in the same boat as us, hoping he might get service too. We said, «Ah, phooey, let’s get outta here». We headed over to Diane’s on Foster where we knew we could get a good breakfast(and we did too!).

Very similar to Original Hotcake House given its 24-hour status, but minus the felonious employees :-) A classic restaurant with food, drink, music, dancing, wasted washouts and ladies of the night, as you would expect right on 82nd Ave. Huge portions, decent quality, and locally-owned. Beats the pants off of Sherries/Dennies any day! Word of advice: Given the neighborhood, don’t leave any valuables in your car!
