The Wood Doctor

We are very happy with quality of work done with this company. My new cabinets look wonderful. Loren and Brandon professional and quality work. After the work is done they always clean before they leave, making sure that the house stays clean. I would highly recommend them to anyone because their prices are reasonable and the quality is exceptional.

Just got my kitchen and bathroom cabinets restored from 17 years of use. The results are excellent and was very happy how well the color matching was done on the cabinets. The two guys, Loren and Brandon, made quick work of the issue for a reasonable price. Would recommend.

I’m giving The Wood Doctor three stars due to poor communication and lack of personal attention to the job. Overall, the price was good and the floors look great, with the exception of a few knot holes which I’m not sure are workmanship issues or not because I haven’t been able to get a clear answer from Stephen about them and he hasn’t been to the house since he gave us the initial quote.
Some of the workmen who did the floors did not speak English, which wouldn’t have been any problem at all except for when we had questions. If Stephen had stopped by to supervise the work or even called to ask how things were going the language barrier would have been no big deal. A phone conversation prior to the start of the job, periodic job supervision or customer contact, and an inspection by Stephen to ensure the quality of work after the completion of the project would have gone far to improve our experience with The Wood Doctor.
The bottom line: Price was good, floors look great (with a couple minor issues that remain unresolved), customer service and personal attention were not good.

Beware the Wood Doctor. He sent a crew of non-​English speakers to refinish our floors and left the house a complete mess; the house was filled with sawdust, they didn’t put back together any of the cabinets and grills, and broke a molding on the downstairs stairwell. He refused to apologize or offer any discount. The work is average at best, and they did not complete the job on time. These guys don’t know how to do business and have utter contempt for their clients needs.

Stephan and his crew saved me a bundle by sanding down our manufacted (and scratched) wood floors, revealing a layer of beautiful cherry underneath the dark brown «chinese plastic». We are thrilled with the outcome and the can-​do attitude. These are good guys.

I have a loft in the Pearl District that I had used as an art studio for ten years and it had paint, resin, glue, scuffs, etc. built up on the wood. It was so bad I was assuming I would need to just replace the floor. Stephen cam over for a quick free estimate and then in two days these guys got the floor back to how it looked when I moved in. Amazing. Quick, clean, and professional. Highly recommended.

The Wood Doctor recently refinished our hardwood floors. Stephen impressed me from the beginning with his prompt return of phone calls (throughout the process) and professionalism. The quote also happened to be the lowest among the three companies I contacted. We were out of town for most of the process but were back in time for the finish to be applied. I was most impressed with how little residual odor the Bona Product left. We are very happy with our floors — they look beautiful. We would recommend The Wood Doctor to our friends.

I have to give The Wood Doctor five stars for their professional, high-​quality work. They did an excellent job and our cabinets look great. My wife and I couldn’t be happier. When it comes time to have our hardwood floors refinished, I will be giving them a call.

Obviously these guys know what they’re doing. In two days they turned our dingy cabinets into their glowing birch original sheen and repaired the damage incurred over the years. They were particularly careful to cover everything and mask off anything that might be affected. A fast, professional job. Thanks, guys.
