The Honey Pot

Formerly known as Sugarista (same locale just different ownership), this is my fave sugaring salon in PDX. I see Aja and am always impressed that she can shape my brows exactly the way I like them (i.e. not sparse). I barely say a word, she works her magic and voila– my brows look awesome. I’m fairly sensitive to waxing (acne alert), but have never had a problem with the sugaring at The Honey Pot. Highly recommend!

2)The salon is located on the bottom floor of a large house occupied by many therapists and the like. The first time I went there I walked into the front door, got lost and wandered around quiet hallways with therapy sessions in progress (awkward). The entrance to the Honey Pot from the outside is located in the left back. You go down a flight of stairs and you’re there– no need to interrupt the healing going on elsewhere.
3) There’s an attached small parking lot on the left side of the building. Street parking is also a breeze.

I always look forward to my visits with Tara for face/​brow and bikini sugaring. She shapes my brows beautifully. Also, a brazilian sugaring/​wax has the potential of leaving you feeling vulnerable but she makes you feel so at ease and… normal. She’s skilled, professional, always on time, and such a heart-​warming person to talk with.
The Honey Pot’s location is in a classic victorian in NW and then once you walk inside they’re suite, you feel like you’re in a soothing boutique style spa.
Sugaring, compared to waxing, hurts less (seriously) and doesn’t leave your skin feeling raw. Also, the hair grow back is less dense.
There you have it– I couldn’t think of going anywhere else!

I’ve been seeing Aja for a couple years now for sugaring and in recent months, lash extensions. Why the heck haven’t I written a review before this?! People need to know! My first visit with Aja was professional and quick — it’s always unnerving going to someone new who will soon be seeing you naked, but Aja made me feel super comfortable. Sugaring is such a great alternative to waxing for any of us hippies out there who want something all natural and pain free! I’ll never switch back to traditional waxing as long as Aja stays in town. Now onto the lashes… I’ve resisted looking into lash extensions for years because I knew it was something Id want and the last thing I needed was something to spend more money on. I finally tried them this year as a treat yo self moment when I scored a new job and I’m never looking back. Aja’s prices are very competitive for the Portland area and she does a way better job than anywhere else I’ve stumbled across. She’s truly a perfectionist who loves her job. I always leave her salon feeling pampered and gorgeous and I’m always getting people telling me «your lashes look amazing!» Doesn’t get any better than that! My suggestion? Book now.

I started seeing Aja a couple of years ago. I had heard of lash extensions, but did not know much about them until I too decided to take the plunge! I can’t tell you how natural they look and how many people told me how beautiful my eyes were! They didn’t even know they were extensions! I was so comfortable at my appointments and am so confident in Aja’s knowledge. The lashes are individually attached to your natural lashes, so there are not clumps of glue or clumps of lashes like a lot of other lash jobs I have seen. I can honestly say there is no way on earth I would trust anyone else, especially being that eyes are so sensitive!
