Thai Mango

Very good food with average wait time for Cartlandia. I always get the Clear Noodle dish (great with beef and their fresh green onions) and their tea is also really good if you want something not-​too-​sweet. One of the carts I would 100% recommend if you’re heading to Cartlandia.

Good portions for a good price. Easy to eat out of the box. Flavorful Thai cuisine. A bit sweet, the curry.

Omg… the food was gross… fried rice was soggy. Mongolian beef tasted like rubber. Ask for spicy and food came with no spice at all. Ordered pad Thai and she forgot to make it. Smh.

Thai Iced Tea is large size and is yummy! Service is a little slow but its ok with me when the end product is good. Salad rolls are yummy here too! Peanut sauce is a little bit different than any other I’ve had. Service is very friendly.

Really good food. The one place that was consistently open throughout my visit to Portland, even on the rainiest of evenings. For sure I’ll be stopping by next time!

I love Thai Mango! My family has been eating here for many years and always have great experiences. We love the food, especially the curry dishes. Most meals cost $ 6.50, I always request extra vegetables such as carrot and broccoli for an additional 50 cents. The meat and vegetables are fresh and delicious. I highly recommend Thai Mango!

Ordered the wonton soup from here. It was a bit salty, maybe too much soy sauce. It was also served in a plastic to-​go container so made it a bit difficult to eat.

I’ve had good Thai food in Portland and bad. This is definitely not in the good list.
We ordered chicken yellow curry and it came in a paper box… Yeah… By the time we got it home the curry was absorbed by the rice so there was no curry left. The potatoes were hard. The onions were far too large and rubbery.
Overall this was a very poor Thai experience. I know a cart can produce good Thai food (Thai Garden on 102^nd and Stark) so that is not an excuse.

Came for Anything Else? thai cart but they were closed so I ended up getting my thai food here. The food tasted good. Just everything else was not right. The prices are high for a food cart. $ 7.75 for a panang curry with mostly carrots and string beans. Also, why would anyone put the curry inside with the rice? My left-​over tasted soggy with the two mixed together and left over night. Lastly, they didn’t bother providing a bag of some sort. I almost dropped my to-​go curry several times trying to switch hands while walking back to work. SUPER inconvient! Defintely not coming back.

Here in Portland we are blessed with what I consider some of the best food trucks in the nation. Just head downtown or Cartlandia and you’ll find rows of them and in many cases, the food is everything as good (or better) as you’d get in a classic brick-​and-​mortar eatery.
My ongoing search for the west coast’s best Pad See Ew (noodle dish with vegetables and meat) landed me and my work buddy at Cartlandia to try «Thai Mango».
We each ordered the Pad See Ew. Me, because that was the goal. He, because he’s not familiar with Thai food and went with the «I’ll have what he’s having» approach.
I ordered mine spicy; buddy stuck with mild.
The food arrived at the window in the expected to-​go-​boxes and we found a seat in the little covered pavilion. I opened up the box and… well, yeah okay that’s a Pad See Ew, loosely. In my opinion (I don’t know, are there written Pad See Ew rules?) the ideal dish should contain about 50% noodles, and 25% each of veggies and meat.
Mine was 85% noodles, 10% veggies, and three meager decrepit strips of meat that I will quite generously say was 5%.
The noodles were incredibly greasy, I mean see-​your-​reflection-​in-​them-​shiny. Way too much oil, to the point where my mind immediately jumped to counting how many extra miles I was going to have to run on the elliptical tonight to compensate for the extra fat in the dish. Spicing: meh. I tasted work buddy’s, and found the sauce was identical, except they sprinkled some extra red pepper bits in mine. It had «heat» but no flavor.
It was not rancid nor sickening, so I can’t honestly rate it a 1. However, they deserve a solid 2 here. With all of the choices we have in P-​town for cart-​style eating, this is one you can skip without looking back.

Great food cart experience on a summer day. I had the special: spicy asparagus – it was steadfastly, satisfyingly hot. The veggies were crisp, fresh and of high quality. My daughter ordered peanut sauce chicken – the sauce was a balanced blend of sweet with savory – the chicken and veggies were well cooked and tender. We topped lunch off with Thai coffee with coconut milk. It was too big and a bit too sweet for me to finish, but we both enjoyed sipping it.
We’ll be back – they were out if chicken satay, do I’ll try that next time. We both had enough left over for another meal. Definitely a good deal.

My wife and I ordered the Pad Thai and the gal taking our order asked if we wanted it spicy and my wife said mild. Her tolerance for spicy is quite a bit different then mine so I just went with it! I was surprised because the flavor was still really good despite the lack of heat. I’d put it up against some of the sit down Thai places around Clackamas/​Happy Valley.

What you expect.

I don’t know about their other stuff, but that sticky rice with mango was the most comforting dessert ever.

I fully blame a recent Unilocal Talk thread for jinxing me into being sick, after making me crave soup. After getting my Phở fix, I searched Unilocal for soup places near my office-​leading me to the food carts.
My Tom Yum soup was delicious. I did have to pay $ 1.50 for rice, making my cart lunch $ 9-​but it was some of the better Tom Yum I’ve tasted lately. Savory, with lots of flavor and tang, and a decent amount of ingredients. Good portions, and the spices really helped to clean out the sinuses.
I can’t wait to try other items from this cart!
