Terminal Sales Building Office

The Terminal Sales Building is in my opinion probably the most prominent Art Deco building in Portland. It is a white concrete building in a town where most buildings, at the time it was built had been faced with either brick or terra cotta.
I like how the building seems taller because of its long straight lines. of course being in an area of downtown without taller buildings helps to.
It is by the firm of Doyle which was a major firm in Portland. If you walk around downtown many if not most of the buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places were designed by them.
Economic changes have changed the use of the building but it still stands out and is well maintained. If you like learning the history of Portland and architecture as much as I do this studying the history of this buildig is interesting and fun.
The Terminal Sales Building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 17, 1991.
