I went in for a quick to-go meal, and for $ 6.99, the E1 special, just teriyaki chicken, rice, and steamed veggies, I was surprised when I got home, with how much food they’d given me! Wow! And, while the food isn’t «gourmet», it’s damn yummy! With them being so close to hime, I will probably be going back soon.

DONOTEATHERE! The Teriyaki Chicken was horrible! The vegetables had an awful taste, and the rice was sticky! The place itself lacked decoration, there were only 6 picture frames with some weird masks in them hanging on the walls. I hated the self service. Also there was to much things on the menu.

My food was cooked in a MICROWAVE. The vegetables and meat were bland and tasteless and the only thing I could eat was the rice. Environment is so-so. It would be fine if their floors weren’t dirty concrete… don’t eat here if you actually have taste buds and… well, taste at all.

I’m born and raised in Portland and this restaurant has to be one of the worst Teriyaki spots in Portland. Teriyaki sauce was gross and I had to kill a MONSTER spider on the wall. Chicken was also questionable.

I like this place, have been going here for years as a go to lunch spot, portions are good size for the value, I enjoy the spicy chicken and pork dishes

Absolutely horrible! I think the meat was out of a can and a microwave was their only appliance. Sorry.

The Tofu Teriyaki is pretty delicious for $ 6! The décor is dated and it has a bare concrete floor but I don’t care. I got my food to go in less than 10 minutes, got it all the way home and it was still nice and warm. I’ll be stopping in more often.

Food is reasonable. We ordered two daily specials: chicken teriyaki, rice, cabbage, choice of egg roll or 2 gyozas, and a small drink, all for 6.99. Not bad for the exception that after charging me for the meal the cashier scurried to the back to help the cook without washing her hands. One of my biggest pet peeves and definitely not sanitary. Just something to watch for before choosing to dine here.

The food has always been just fair here and our stop today after a long absence was no different. This is Asian fast food pure and simple. Nothing is fresh, it’s all in the kitchen just waiting to be put together for your order. I had the pork yakisoba plate and it was, as I’ve said of this place, fair. I’ve always felt that the cost of a rice bowl or in my case, a plate of noodles, pork and some veggies, plus a mini-scoop of rice are over priced. My wife’s teriyaki chicken plate was fine but steamed cabbage and veggies were room temperature. See my tip for the price ranges. I was full but not stuffed full. We had the full accompaniment of extra sauces and I liked the sweet hot chili on my order. Service was friendly and we helped ourselves to water, napkins and forks. While we sat, talked and eat, several singles and couples came in for to-go orders. They must all be in such a hurry, don’t like the odd framed mini masks on the walls, or wanted to drink a beer at home in front of their 200 inch fusion television. Or not. Will we be back again? I think this visit after an absence, will be followed be another absence.

If there’s one thing I can’t stand it’s that their steamed cabbage is always cold. Might seem like a small nit pick but I guess that’s just me. I expect all my food to be piping hot when it gets to me. Cold veggies makes me think it’s been sitting out too long. And it’s not refrigerator cold. It’s laying out in the counter getting bacteria cold. Chicken is ok though.

T.K. has been one of our hangouts whenever we’re in the PDX area for many years. When we lived in Clackamas a few years back this is when we first found it. And it was the first time I had ever eaten a Chicken Bowl. Still love coming back. The food and the service has always been nice. ..

Lunch special was cheap, and gets the job done. But I’ve experienced better. We called ahead for takeouts and still needed to wait 15 mins for the food to be ready. Doubt I will return again but I was full and fed.

Have my taste buds changed? Has Teriyaki King changed? These were the questions going through my head as I ate my entrée. I used to eat here fairly regularly while in high school. For $ 5.50 I could get a filling and well balanced meal from the Chicken Teriyaki. After nearly five years I returned to find that my menu item of choice had gone up one dollar to being $ 6.50. Sign of the times, the portions are still the same and for $ 6.50 you still get a ton of food. However, while good value still remains at Teriyaki King, the flavor unfortunately doesn’t. While this was never a must visit restaurant because the food was so good, it at least was good enough to prompt multiple visits. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. The chicken was rubbery and had a unique(not in a good way taste) and the teriyaki sause was bland. I could not even finish half of my food because the taste was so bleh. Teriyaki Chicken is not hard to do well, Teriyaki King once knew how to do it but unfortunately they have forgotten how or changed how they once prepared the food to cost cutting in a rough economy. Here is to hoping that Teriyaki King can get their flavors back because even at $ 6.50 the Chicken Teriyaki menu item is a good value.

This was once decently priced teriyaki. Try paying with cash because if you give a credit card you might get a dirty look. If you put enough teriyaki sauce on something then you can make anything taste ok. I used to order the hawaiian bowl with brown rice until the mac they served with the hawaiian bowl all of a sudden took on a different texture. Maybe they just switched the brand that they were using. Either way it is now a slimey mushy texture that makes me not like it. Mac should have a little firmness to it and not be mush. If they can get the mac down then it would earn another star from me. They have good chicken which i believe they use only thighs which are high in flavor and are hard to mess up. I like this place for lunch because it is close to my work and filling when im hungry. The prices have gone up over the last few years so if they keep going higher with the same quality I probably will stop going.

Bluck. Dark chicken is nasty sauce with limp cabbage and decent rice. Why do I keep coming back here? Oh, because Deep SE sucks and the only other options are Burger King, Taco Time, Starbucks and a sandwich shop.

This is one of my favorite teriyaki places. My fav dish is the teriyaki chicken. The portions are large and the service is great every time. Deffinetly recommend it.

I can’t say it’s the best place in the world but I’ve been to basically every corner of the earth so my standards are pretty high. If you are a diabetic then this might not be the right place for you since sugar happens to be a primary food group according to King Teri.

more like the«dethroned king who is now a leper locked in the dilapidated prison dungeon» of teriyaki. if you, like i did, find yourself with 27 minutes to grab a bite before a meeting within a mile of this place, opt for starbucks or buger king, in the same mini mall. if you read this and decide not to heed my advice. do not get the spicy teriyaki pork. if you read this too and decide to challenge me and get the spicy teriyaki pork, put lots of cock sauce and soy sauce on it and avoid the ‘steamed’ veggies.

This place makes my very favorite«chicken bowl» in town. And my favorite curry rice(with chicken). I’ve tried quite a few in Portland, and haven’t found better. It’s NOT fancy. Adequate seating, usually low volume, very affordable prices. And if you want to read the paper while you eat, it’s there. I almost didn’t want to review it because it’s kind of a neighborhood secret and I don’t want to ruin it. But all the teachers, cops, and office workers close by know where it is and what they want by memory. You can always tell a new customer because they have to look at the menu and take more than 5 seconds to give their order. Some of us regulars just say«get the chicken bowl!» when we’re behind them in line, or waiting at a nearby table for our food. The five stars are for: Prices(cheap), Reliability(always good and hot), Service(quick and efficient and friendly«Hi Oma!»), Cleanliness(outstanding), and Appeal(something for everyone — even burgers and fries for picky kids like mine).
