First time here I ordered three 3 items to go, got home and two were wrong or not what I ordered. that is not a huge deal, mistakes happen but the attitude of the staff when I called back was terrible! they could car less about the issue. Too bad, the one item we did get that we ordered was good.

Mapped wrong! I chose this place because of its proximity to my route as listed on Unilocal and called in my order to save time n a road trip. But it is nowhere near where Unilocal has it at 223rd and Sandy. It is at 50th and Powell. Added probably half an hour to my drive, which was not appreciated on this particular trip. Food was okay but not worth going out of the way for. Pretty average burritos. And menu items are all more expensive now than the prices in the pic on Unilocal. You need an update, fool! ;-)

Amazing Sopas and Tacos. Their burritos aren’t quite as yummy, but their carnitas is great, as are all of their house made salsas. The torta is fantastic, too.

Update October 2015 — what happened? The tacos and burritos just taste overly salty now, not much other flavor. I’ve tried a couple of times now to repeat my blissful experience from years ago. But: they’ve simply changed. :(

Great tacos with large portions! I go there regularly and the food is always good. They also have a very good vegan menu if needed. There is Apex brewing next store so you can grab good beer after.

The best of the plethora of Mexican food trucks. This one used to be located on 50th and Division. Most offerings are a cut above their competitors and price points are low. Do know that the breakfast burritos come with beans and lots of sour cream. One of the stars of the menu is the good-sized $ 3 Quesa tacos. They also have an extensive not often found vegan/vegetarian menu. A couple of people there are very nice.

This is the same truck that used to be at 50th and Division. It is behind the Taco Time, across from the Taco Bell. Instantly recognizable by the big Car Wash sign out front… Same truck, same menus(literally), same food. My personal-experience standard is SF Mission taquerias. I have in 20 years not found anything close in PDX(same with cheap Chinese and Paki-Indian). Los Gorditos is however better than any of the trucks I have tried in the 3rd/2nd& Oak/Stark blocks. Burritos are comfort food and by definition bland(I do not equate hot with flavor), but these are the most satisfying I have yet found. It is true that they are large, also in contrast to the downtown carts.

I drive by this truck almost everyday and finally stopped in. I cannot get enough of the Sally burrito! I love steak but prefer their chicken, it’s so tasty! And the RED sauce, well all there sauces… So good. Great prices. Not a bad idea to pick up a burrito on your way home from work for you and your significant other. This place is super yummy. Would have given 4 stars cause this place only takes cash.

The veg friendly menu here is awesome! This is the best location I’ve been to: quick and never too busy

Great food! Great sauces! However, they are open late a lot of the time and consistently run out of breakfast ingredients.

I USED to like this place… I am a chef in the area of this food truck and normally i make frequent visits but as of late the quality and consistency is not there. I usually get tacos and $ 2 for one taco may not be bad, but i expect to have that same taco every time and as of late that is not the case. Lately when i get my tacos they either have a TON of onions or none at all and piled with cilantro which is not appetizing either. Today I got my tacos and the beef was so dry, there was absolutely no cilantro on them and then maybe a small sprinkle of onions. I am sorry to say but Los Gorditos lost a customer in me.

Oh My God. A good street taco in Portland! So good. Their meat game is Hulkamania on.

As a disclaimer: I’m from Texas and Mexican food Portland lists have deemed oooh so good are simply unimpressive That being said… I was hesitant to try Los Gorditos. The first time in fact, I ordered the tacos. The only one I really liked was the carne desebrada taco. The others seemed to lack seasoning and a little on the dry side. I may have caught them on an off night. I’m so glad I gave them another chance. I was lacking energy, I didn’t feel like making breakfast and just wanted as much meat as I could get for a small price. I decided to give Los Gorditos another go and this time went for the Garbage Burrito: Large flour tortilla stuffed with beans, rice, cheese, sour cream, chicken, beef, and marinated pork, plus a scoop each of salsa verde and salsa roja, onion and cilantro As I watched the guy making it… my eyes were coming out of my head! Is all of that for me?! Sure enough, the guy on the grill managed to get all those ingredients into the soft pillow of a tortilla and into my grateful hands. Let’s just say I’ve found myself«not feeling» like making breakfast lately. Things to know: 1 Burrito can feed 2 people. This is a Cash Only food truck. There is a ATM in front. They have a rather extensive vegan menu NOT open Sundays :-(

For some odd reason I feel the urge to start this review by making a claim of «Best Burrito in ______!» However, I know how making a claim like that has consequences, and I’m fully aware of that. So I’m going to just say that I have been consistently impressed with every burrito I have ever eaten here. For those that are looking for a reason to try this open air fixed base of operations taco truck passing itself off as a taqueria I will say this, «Eat here, you will not be disappointed.» Details? I’m sitting here in the unusual Sunshine of beautiful warm January day. I just finished devouring a «Garbage Burrito» and I am completely satisfied, but also wondering if I could eat one more. So Good. There is no secret to the garbage burrito. They spell it out in black & white right on the menu board exactly what’s contained in this wrapped tortilla. What makes it so special is how they pull it off and make it work so perfectly. Bonus for their salsa bar! Really hot sauces, pickled jalopeknows with carrots, and juicy lime wedges. Perfect! Eat This! Enjoy.

As a downtown technician driving everywhere for lunch, I have eaten at over 25 mexican food carts. This one seriously takes the cake. For $ 5.00, you get a monster burrito challenging the size of a Chipotle burrito but loaded with more meat than anything. The lengua is my favorite, very well marinated, cooked to a slight crispy edge and topped with all of the goods. It looks dinky because it’s just a food cart with a permanent patio built around it but don’t let it fool you, this place is busy for a reason!

Hands down the best burrito cart in Portland! For five bucks you get a massive burrito filled with yummy ingredients. I always add avocado for 50 cents extra. They probably put close to half an avocado! Me and my gf have a tradition where we go to Gorditos and get 2 chicken burritos with avocado and hike up to Mount Tabor and Sit on the grass in the sun and enjoy the view of Portland while taking down a delicious burrito. There salsa bar is pretty good too. Just wish they had larger togo containers as you have to fill up like 4 or 5 plastic containers to get enough.

This was the first place in Portland that I was pleased with. I find the veggie burrito here in my Top 5. Easily. First off, it contains avocado. That is always a bonus. The other good: the salsa bar is one of the best I have experienced so far in Portland. It even contains an orange sauce like people salivated in my home town of San Jose CA at a popular joint I hit. This cart gave me hope, when I thought there was not any. Thanks for a good veggie burrito!

This is the closest to authentic Latin American cooking I’ve had since living in California. Gordito’s is a Portland staple, with burritos the size of your face and loaded with crazy flavor. If you have room, get the garbage burrito. It’s got everything you’ve ever dreamed of wrapped up in a sexy tortilla and handed to you earnestly. Fuck yeah, Gorditos. Fuck yeah.

Could possibly be The BEST Carne Asada Tacos in Portland ! Best RED homemade salsa too The food truck location is much better. And to think I almost went to Por que no. *Update this food truck is gone. Read my review of Mi Pueblo. It’s now my top Taco spot.

Four stars but could have been three: — Soy curl tacos. They are simple but very tasty and all the flavors are in tact. Throw some hot sauce on it and you’re doing alright. — Encebellados tacos. I don’t know why you’d eat carne asada when you can eat encebellados(carne asada + grilled onions). Really. It’s silly why the other is even an option barring people who are allergic/don’t like onions and they could just ask for no onions(there are fresh onions on all the tacos). Eat this. It’s good. — Not a fan of the pollo or the al pastor — if looking for meat tacos I’d definitely go the encebellados route. — At $ 2/taco I’d say you can do slightly better but not by much. — Salsa/hot sauce are ok. Very watery but have flavor. For these reasons Los Gorditos makes my Best Mexican in PDX list.
