I have been here couple time. Everything in the past was great. However yesturday I ordered spicy ramen with seafood($ 9.25) with no shrimp because I am allergic. what I got was cheap ramen soup from a package, adding 2 small mussels, 1 egg, and some vegetable. I eat it all because I was so hungry! I hope the restaurant will try to improve the quality of their food.

This is the first time for me here and first time having Ramen in Portland. I had some Ramen before in California and in Eugene. We got the Shoyu Ramen it was delicious! The broth was tasty and making me want more. The noodles and the chicken was very tasty as well. We are sure to come back. Great and fast service! Their Philly rolls were awesome too!

So far I am very impressed with this place. I have eaten a lot of good Asian food in Hawaii and this place meets my high standards for mainland Asian food. They have things available that many restaurants don’t here, such as katsu, bulgogi, and donburi. The sushi is off the chain here! The menu variety and fresh sushi are going to have me addicted to this place. They have a huge saki menu. The edamame was a great way to start my meal and your seafood catch is amazing! Second time in my life I have savagely enjoyed onions, and the mushrooms in there were delicious. Keep it the way it is, don’t Americanize this place because you are perfect the way you are! Now I have a place to eat each time I am in that area that I know is dependably good as well as full of variety. I was full and did not spend a whole lot. Very awesome! I can’t wait to eat here again!

Delicious and fresh. Quickly prepared. The place is nice and cozy. A little old fashioned but it’s still pretty good.

This a solid, mid-range sushi restaurant. Much better than the most affordable places, and still relatively affordable. Their service is wonderful, the fish fresh, and location convenient for us. Yellowtail roll, Illinois roll, spicy tuna, caterpillar are some of our favorites by flavor. I also love the salmon skin salad to start! Give it a try.

I’d like to premise this review with COMPAREDTOALLOTHERSUSHIINCLACKAMAS, this place is 4⁄5 stars. But compared to my experience with sushi, I believe it’s a decent 3-star restaurant. The rolls taste great, especially the baked ones such as the Nevada. A little hard to eat because of the square shape, but it’s so savory! The bento box is probably the best value. I personally love the tonkatsu. The panko crust is so delicious. This restaurant is always in consideration when discussing my lunch plans!

The food was good the state rolls are a favorite though I have found going there that they tend to change around and favor certain ingredients depending on what I am assuming is the season. So read the description. However I must give them a lower review because the service was terrible. I’m not sure what put our server in such a bad mood but she was definitely not happy to be there. Her attitude throughout the meal was grumpy to say the least and she got our bill wrong. I admit the food is good but enough to put up with bad service that I’m less sure about.

Service here is always great. The waitresses and owners remember you. They also have a great mailing list for awesome deals and they use every excuse to celebrate something with prizes. This is one of the few restaurants that serve takoyaki. Absolutely love it here!

We ordered the dinner Bento box. I loved the options and variety! I got the bulgogi(pretty good, not super authentic), gyoza(forgot to specify steamed, NOT fried. So make sure you specify your preference), and spicy tuna roll. My husband got the spicy chicken, yakisoba, and sushi(chef’s choice, which ended up being a GREAT choice). The best items by far were the sushi. Everything else seemed a bit generic, like anything you could get at a chinese take-out. I would totally recommend this place for sushi! It was fresh and delicious. Service was a bit lackluster, but more humorous than maddening.

Consistently great quality especially when you expect to pay more for the quality. I usually try a different state roll each time and have never been disappointed. The baked muscles, creamy scallops, and maguro are a must on every visit.

This place is super cute! The setting was nice and cozy and very welcoming. The servers were friendly and the food was amazingly delucious. It wasn’t that expensive either. We ordered 9⁄10 sushi and spent $ 110. Which is pretty cheap foe us. Lol anywho, I would definitely go here again the next time I crave for sushi and am in this side of town. Definitely worth a try.

My new favorite sushi place in Portland. Sushi & Maki is in a desolate strip mall way south on 82nd. They’ve done a good job with the interior to make it feel less strip mall-ish. Service is awesome, prices are awesome, rolls are awesome. Cute state themed rolls(that have nothing to do with the state they are named after) I highly recommend the following: Massachusetts: ONTOP: Unagi, Avocado. INSIDE: Fried Prawn, Real Crab. SAUCE: Unagi. Missouri: ONTOP: Seared Tuna, Green Onion. INSIDE: Imiation Crab, Cucumber, Avocado. SAUCE: Wasabi. Fireball: Tempura mushrooms stuffed with mixed seafood and all kinds of goodness. So good. Go here.

My experience here was pretty bad. I do not feel like we were given good service, the waitress did not come across as friendly(maybe it was an off day) and I remember looking at my friend once we were seated that conveyed, ‘are you kidding me?’ I ordered the lunch bento with spicy tuna and teriyaki salmon… the salad on the side was overdressed and incredibly salty, the salmon tasted frozen, the tuna tasted more like siracha than anything but the potstickers(which were deep fried) were good. My friend got the salmon sashimi and spicy salmon roll and echoed my sentiments about the roll, he ended up feeling pretty sick afterwards(he thinks it was the sashimi). My girlfriend ordered the ginger tofu and said it had a lot of ginger(which she liked) but that the overall dish was just okay. We all do not foresee ourselves coming back which is unfortunate given their high rating.

Just got done with dinner here. It was aightttt. The sashimi was for sure the highlight. Super fresh fish! I’m an avid seaweed salad-er and this was blAh mostly because there was barely any seaweed in there! They filled the bowl with a cucumber like vegetable. The state rolls were yummy too but pretty over priced and I personally like more simple rolls, which were not available there other then the Cali roll. Service was terrible. The lady who was our server did not even try to be friendly. Like literally I think she said five words to us the whole time. Overall, seaweed salad and service were two thumbs down.

Hopefully I can update my review with a four star version next time, but I was not impressed. My son had picked up the sushi as a thank-you dinner, so we were looking forward to a special treat, especially when we saw the number of four stars they were awarded. But if this is worth four stars, then I am starting my own sushi restaurant. Another pointer: They had not marked our rolls on the outside of the boxes, but we have eaten enough sushi to figure out which is which. It would have added that four star touch. The good part: the fresh ginger and wasabi. The not so good part: I ordered the Washington state roll which was supposed to have whole crab, which it did not, the crab was mushed to a salad type that I was expressly trying to avoid. The different fishes layered on top were fine, but not amazingly fresh or well cut – even the presentation was not out of the ordinary and gave me a feeling it had been laying in the fridge for a while, pre-made to when it was ordered. My wakame salad missed that extra tanginess for my preferences. I did like the fact that they put the dressing separately. And neither my son nir daughter-in-law were impressed with their spicy rolls: the fact that there was no version of their favorite, the dynamite roll, had them ordering rolls that they are less fond of. And I must admit, the state roll with the mushy tuna is strange to experience – the nice crunch and solid taste of tuna which normally greets you when you eat a tuna roll, ends up disappearing in your mouth. On the whole, I was disappointed for the price. By the time you only like the sushi when it is a form of tempura, something is wrong.

Realistically I can’t justify giving them 5 stars when there are places like Saburo out there. What this place does however they do well. This is my regular sushi place. It’s light years better than Marinepolis in every way(quality, service and ambiance) while still being reasonably priced. It’s also notable that nearly everyone that works here is Japanese and it’s comforting to walk into a sushi place and see several old Japanese fellows preparing sushi behind the counter. The food is always fresh and the service is fast. Don’t let the fact that it is located in a strip mall on 82nd(next to a mattress world and social services facility) deter you. When you walk in the door you could be at any«working mans» bar in Japan. The windows are fully covered for a reason and you will soon forget you’re eating on 82nd. They also give the traditional farewell as you walk out the front door. Good solid option for sushi.

Some mighty fine sushi! We came here for a heavy meal; we were both starving. We ordered three rolls, the Texas which was tempura fried and cheesy, and two others, with salmon. One was Oregon and other, I don’t recall. They were ALL tasty. Beverages are served in the bottle with a cup and ice. I liked that. Service was pretty quick and we were the only people in there when we left. I’d go back! YUM! I also think this pocket on 82nd has good food; Andale and Phở Huy are within a quarter mile of this gem.

I never would have known this place was there its so tucked in the corner. The boyfriend found it on the internet and since we were gonna be in the area and all the good reviews we had to stop. We tried a bunch of stuff: Texas and Colorado rolls, unagi, salmon, eel & avocado, asparagus rolls, and cucumber rolls plus gyoza and the assorted tempura appetizers. All of it was delicious. The state rolls are cool and we got a stamp card so after 10 the 11th is free. I want to try all of them! The waitstaff was friendly. Everything came out quick and we weren’t overly checked in in. We will definitely be going back.
