The owner, Chet, seems really nice and helpful. I bought some lovely mid-century folding chairs that are great quality. I only gave him a reduced rating because I’ve been here when they’re supposed to be open, but weren’t. That said, he has texted me fairly quickly when I’ve asked about items.

I bought a Marantz Stereo receiver from Storeroom Vintage a week or so ago. The employee, who I believe was the owner, plugged it into the wall to show that the lights worked and then proceeded to say that he knew that the radio definitely worked but that he’s not sure about the rest of it and that the unit was sold as is. I purchased the receiver, took it home and hooked it up to speakers and the unit immediately began to smoke and then blow both of my speakers. Everything is now toast. If you’re going to sell products, you should test them to make sure they are in working order. If you feel on the fence about a product maybe you shouldn’t sell it. Not only did I waste my money on buying your receiver but now I have to spend hundreds on replacing the speakers I’ve had for over 10 years. You make small business owners look bad. Have some accountability and set higher standards and your business would probably do better. If you burn enough customers word will get out.

After perusing Et-cet-era, I saw there were some other stores just around the corner and this is how I found Storeroom Vintage. I think because of the name of the store I was expecting something a little funkier(like kitchen items from the 1950s), but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Storeroom Vintage is quite a sleek small store, a little like a cocktail lounge from the 1950s or 1960s, and full of very high quality items. The store is also very, very clean. As much as I love vintage stores or even a good thrift store, if the stuff is dusty, I will stay as long as I can before the sneezing and wheezing start. I did neither today. I was greeted by the knowledgeable and friendly young woman in the store and was asked if there was anything in particular I was looking for. Smart, smart, smart! This prompted a 20-minute or so conversation about many of the items in the store as I moved around from piece to piece. I may not have bought something today, but this will also be the first place I come back to look for unique items for the vintage lovers in my life. Another thing her laid-back and non-pushy friendliness is very important because of their location — a small corner store a block off the main drag. It’s not a place people will automatically just walk into as they depart the weekend Farmer’s Market, but will have to search for. If you have a friendly and knowledgeable person in charge of the store, customers will come back to visit and will search you out gladly when they hear good feedback from other customers. OK, so now you’ve heard the good feedback from me, so go find this store and check out their well-curated collection of items. I think you’ll tell your friends about it too.

I LOVE this store. The furniture is high quality and always interesting. You can always find something different and something to fit anywhere. It’s a great place to browse and even a better place to find that special unique piece. Chet constantly rotates his merchandise and he really knows his stuff. And there’s a giant upstairs with all sorts of pieces. Oh, and there is free delivery!

The space is small, and there’s a variety of things — jewelry, knick kacks, furniture. The owner often posts items online and he has really lovely taste. But there just isnt too much on the premises to see. There’s lots of unsed space in the space. It only takes a couple minutes to see it all. Things are too spendy for me here — definitely an «antiques» kind of vintage store(although not technically antiques). Chet is the one who posts online and he seems like a nice enough fella. He had a bunch of vintage sewing machines that he didnt end up using so was giving them away. I thought that was super nice. Sadly, the old girl wouldnt fit in my car(with her table attached and all). The guy at the store may well have been one and the same, but he looked different and didnt say much so I really couldn’t tell. He was so kind to offer to even carry the thing, but didnt really say a word to me while I was browsing. Didn’t much seem like a people person to me. So for his kindness and his good taste, I will give this place 3 stars for A-OK. But I doubt I would go back, unless he lists something online I simply HAVE to have!
