Great spot for a beer before a Blazers game but only a beer… Two of us ordered sandwiches. We waited 20 min for the sanwiches to come out and after they call my name they tell us «oh sorry we’re out of the other sandwich». Here’s one of them. «Ok we’ll wait a sec no big deal». My partner orders the replacement sammy, they call her name and some other dude gabs her sammy before she can get to the counter. She waits for 5 min trying to get the attention of the staff and the dude brings back the sandwich saying«we didnt order this». Wtf, wasted food because of their lame system of calling our first names only, and waiting forever for grub. Ended up cancelling the sammy for a refund. Do yourself a favor and sont get food here before the game. Only get beer but then again just head downstairs for much better beer.

Great food, great music. Small bar selection but done right so its okay. I would definitely come back! Would recommend the pastrami Lower East Side sandwich on rye and the Salmon & cheddar on rye!

Best pulled pork sandwich ever. Awesome place with good beer too. Can’t wait to come again and try more of their amazing sandwiches.

Ok, I have been here several times and always mean to write a review but somehow never do. Well, that is being rectified now. This place is a little gem. They always have great food items and their beer selection is great for a small café. The real cache that this place has is that it is across the street from the Moda center. It is the perfect place to have a beer or three before a game. Also, FYI it is a great place to park your car2go.

What can I say? I went here with a Groupon and the server didn’t know how to enter it into the POS system, so we stood up at the register while she tried unsuccessfully to figure it out. She was friendly enough, but she should have just taken the Groupon, given us our beers, and figured out how to enter the Groupon on her own time. After she finally decided to serve us, it took quite a long time(and there were no other customers) to pour two pints and fill a growler. If I would have been working and made a customer wait that long, I would have filled the pints and offered to bring the growler over afterwards. While the beer prices were very low(a dollar or more less per pint than my usual hangouts), the beer selection was really uninspired. Also, my beer didn’t taste fresh, though my friend’s beer tasted better. I’m wondering if the keg was old and whether taps get cleaned regularly. Actually, I’m not really wondering: I’m pretty sure they don’t. It seems as if Stingray Café can’t decide whether it wants to be a espresso joint, a no frills lunch place, or a pub. Judging from the lack of clientele the hour I spent there, it seems like they need to find a focus. Given the other reviews, it doesn’t seem like they are doing anything particularly well. I understand, given their proximity to the Moda Center, they must get a ton of business when there’s a Blazer or Winterhawk game, or a concert. Given what I saw, I’m guessing the staff must get totally overwhelmed by those events. I would never come back here unless I was on the way to the Moda Center and had some time to kill. ..

Not impressed at all. Average sandwich selection, were out of a few things, forgot the avocado on my sandwich, but mostly: staff didn’t give a shit! Their friends were there and in between gossiping they reluctantly served us. Idk my friend dug his sandwich so I give them a few for that, but only near the moda center can you be so substandard in Portland :(

I really want to like this place but they make it impossible. Two days in a row I’ve gone in for lunch and they’ve been completely out of our missing key ingredients to three different items I tried to order. The new guy they hired is great and was apologetic on day two, but the gal who is usually in there makes you feel like you’re inconveniencing her by going there for lunch. Love the food when it’s available, but everything else about this place is unforgettable.

Came here to use a Living Social deal and was impressed with the price points given the location, beers/cider $ 3 – 4 for a pint which is a great deal in the location. Also, the ciabatta roll the pulled pork sandwich came on was delicious. The entire sandwich was delicious! Not a location I’d go to randomly because it’s complicated to find parking at some times of the day, but if I were headed to the Moda Center, definitely a place I’d swing by.

We went there more for the bar environment and enjoyed it. The prices were really reasonable and the service pleasant. They aren’t open late, but this would be a great place to go before an event at the Moda Center. Decent selection of beers/cider on tap and full bar. Cool, clean industrial feel to the venue.

The food was good, but the price was high and service was slow and very poor. I was with my coworkers having lunch and we all were talking shop. 20 minutes later I barely heard my name and found out that they had called me to come get my $ 6 sandwich. 20 minutes to make a sandwich I paid $ 6 for and not being it to me? Not going back.

I had a really nice time. I despise parking options, but it’s the location. It’s very tricky to park and you must be on your toes or you’ll miss it. I enjoyed a breakfast bagel and a cup of joe. $ 6 Batdorff and Bronson — winner! The bagel was well prepared. Egg, Bacon in a tight little package. Bagel was something of an Everything Bagel — it had great texture. The space is nice. Large, garage door type windows. The counter staff was friendly, efficient. Taps of cider and beer. TV screens. The counter/bar top can be a bit confused and it doesn’t exactly flow.

Absolutely a great pre-blazer game watering hole. The fans are friendly and the staff is fine. Downstairs is Upright Brewing’s taproom. I stop here for pre game drink before almost every home game.

I love this building, not least because there’s a great brewery downstairs. The Stingray manages to make most of the ground floor feel like a cool, open hangout where you can have a beer or a cup of coffee. There’s a bar tucked back in the corner with a few taps, and a coffee shop more in the center of the room with full-on lineups of all your caffeine needs. You can grab a table and read, indoors or out. Very pleasant setting to be sure. The service, prices, and coffee here were all right on. Seeing all the old bikes hanging from the ceiling didn’t really move me one way or another, but it’s clear where the place got its name. I like this spot and would definitely not come back.

A friend asked me to meet her here. I was a little hesitant, given the bad reviews, but I also know that the bar is set pretty high in Portland, especially for food, coffee and ambiance. The parking in this area is paid and limited to 90 – 120 minutes. I easily outlived my 90 minute limit and we stood talking next to one car while my friend watched nervously as a car next to her was towed. Inside, it’s not really a café so much as a food stand in a lobby. Kind of like the airport with hustle and bustle going on all around. Without the really annoying announcements. In the afternoon, there was sun coming in through the large windows, though, and I really enjoyed that. I got a sandwich for $ 6 and a coffee, bringing the total to $ 8. Which is not bad. The sandwich was a tuna melt on rye. The coffee was self-serve and while not outstanding, was hot and fine. My sandwich came up and was never announced. I happened to look up and see something sitting there on the counter. I got up to investigate, noticed it was a tuna melt and inquired. Yes, your sandwich is ready, the gal announced. I got napkins and headed back to my seat. The tuna had way too much mayo and wasn’t especially hot but then I don’t know how long it was sitting on the counter. I later saw someone else approach their food and ask if it belonged to them. They got the same cheery response I did — as if they did their job by answering the question correctly! The wet tuna made the bread moist so that upon grilling it became kind of sticky in my teeth. But it was tasty and the cheese was good and I ate the whole thing. I was hungry and then I wasn’t. Mission accomplished. Nothing to write home about but I got some work done, had a meeting and got food and drink. A solid three star experience.

Update for visit on 8⁄23 Gave Stingray another try since I was doing work in the building. Ordered a veggie burger… asked what was on it. Cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato, pesto, etc. When I got it… no cheese. I was too hungry to complain. I also felt it was weird that it was called the«Garden Burger» so I was looking for an actual veggie burger patty… made of what else… veggies right?! What I got was more of a rice patty. Literally a patty made of rice. Had I known this I wouldn’t had ordered. I’ve never seen a rice patty on a burger before. At least not one that had all rice. It was weird. And too many carbs. Sad day. Also… AGAIN… food takes FOREVER to come out. 20 minutes to get a sandwich? Really? Do yourself a favor and only get something that’s pre-made. Not worth it.

Found this place by accident! Well, not really!!! We were going to the Blazers’ game and seriously didn’t want to pay for chitty over priced food at the Rose Garden Center. I LOVETHEFOOD, LOVETHESERVICE, VERYPORTLAND so if you ain’t cool like that, you might mistaken the wait crew as horrible and rude but they ain’t!!! THEYARECOOLLIKETHAT!!! We ordered Tuna Melt and Reuben sandwiches. Mmmmmmmmmmm all good, beer for only $ 3(the Rose Garden is $ 7). Win win situation! :)
