Still Moving Yoga

I am sitting in on my 7 year old daughter’s Strength and Courage yoga class as I write this review. I am so impressed that I feel the need to pass along some positive feedback RIGHT AWAY!!! Lynea is amazing. We brought a group of Girl Scouts (Daisies) to earn their red petal. I highly recommend this studio!

Jim rocks my world! He has been my yoga teacher for the past year or so and I just love his classes. The really lucky part is that he comes on-​site to my company twice a week (sometimes it pays to work for the man), so I haven’t been to the yoga studio in Portland.
What I can tell you is that I was completely new to yoga before taking Jim’s class and he puts you wonderfully at ease. He’s been teaching yoga or other sports for over 30 years and he is funny. I wasn’t expecting that.
Trying something new can be a little intimidating and he just has such a warmth about him. The class is filled with people of all shapes, sizes and abilities as well as injuries and he does a nice job of checking in and pushing you forward or pulling you back as needed.
He’ll tell you the real name of the pose, but the nick names he throws out are great. He calls one pose «Hi, Sailor.»
Since I’m a Type A, yoga is a great way to relax and focus at the same time, but I tell you the last five minutes of deep meditation is still hardest part for me. One of these days I’ll find my inner peace.
