This Starbucks is above average for the chain. It is located near the Oregon Convention Center among much else in the way of Portland attractions. This has a small parking lot and a drive-thru. Inside it has plenty of furniture and power outlets. I went through the unfortunate event of a power outage at my home. In order to remedy the situation, and thus fulfill my computing obligations, I went here. Due to my war-chest of stars, I attained a free item, and I also got a paid one. As I plugged in, I noticed outlets under some of the high chairs and near two of their five tables. The couch I managed to sit at was comfortable. Starbucks has a reliable, yet dull menu. Such is not the best that I have seen from them, but it was up on the rung. This is a location great for office duties in a chain that often forgets their own ability to forge greatness in that walk.

They gave me a grande ice coffee without room instead of a venti with room. When I told the barista(Kim, male/white) he shrugged and said, ‘that’s the cup I was given.’ He made no attempt to fix or correct the order, simply walked away without even an apology.

So apparently not putting whip cream on a cup clearly marked by them no whip cream is the absolute hardest request to comply with. This tends to happen often at Starbucks, ¾ of my last visits they’ve put whip when I clearly ask for no whip and they mark the cup themselves with no whip in the custom box. Then since I’m so fed up with this constant«honest mistake» as he called it, I asked for my next drink to be free which I know is possible because my local Starbucks so kindly and generously offered me a 4 $ courtesy gift card even though I never asked for it. When I said«no worries I’ll still drink it, I don’t want coffee to be wasted poured down the drain» they offered me the gift card as a sorry for an actual honest mistake. Yet at this Starbucks when I asked the man for the courtesy gift card he looked at me like I was stupid and offered to take the whip cream off, I’m not disabled dude if I wanted to whip off that bad I would do it myself. What I want is for you guys to take some form of training that teaches you how to communicate with your fellow coworkers, how to read your acronyms that you guys yourself write on the cups. I don’t even work for Starbucks and I can read myself, that the cup said WC with a line crossed through it to signify that it was a drink with NOWHIPCREAM. Seems simple, yet these people have the hardest of time following their own acronyms. Not only that but the place is a mess, they have employees standing around, yet the stand that has creamers, sugars, and utensils had obviously not been attended to in a while. Used mixing sticks, creamer and coffee dried to the surface, napkins on the ground, creamer empty, and chairs not pushed in or tables not wiped down. If you guys need a manager who can get things done, please let me know. Not only have I got a ton of experience managing in customer service, but I’m assertive. I can get the employees loyalty and trust, while also making sure that the store is spotless and organized and customers leave happy. It’s really not difficult. I could even teach them to read and communicate with each other. Anyways, it would be nice to get my next drink for free. Being a manager myself, and having a second job that serves smoothies for the most part, I would have handled the situation very differently. I would have asked if the customer wanted a refund and to keep his drink, ask what would make him leave happiest. Like really? You’re gonna let your establishment get a negative review over ONEDRINK?! Makes no sense. If you’re the owner, GM, or manager, please consider training your employees on customer service. Cause that service was sub par at best. Also I am posting a picture so you guys can see yourself that I am not making this up. My complaint my seem pointless. Except for the fact that If that team of employees makes such a small mistake and doesn’t care to make it right, imagine how many other customers leave dissatisfied just as I have? Repeat business is key in an establishment such as Starbucks, handling situations in the form that specific team did is gonna send customers elsewhere. I work 2 blocks away and would constantly get my Coffee here but unfortunately that’s not the case anymore and I’ll just go to Cup and Bar instead. Have a great day, hope this is read by someone cause like this country, you guys need change.

Unfortunately, this location is on my way to work so I frequent it. EVERYSINGLE F***KING time, foam takes up about ¼ of the drink. This morning, I asked for light foam and got the same result. I count the milk into my breakfast/protein intake and I’M PAYINGFORIT. They probably owe me a half dozen drinks for all they’ve shorted me. GAH.

Very poor service. My partner ordered a simple grande brew and was not informed that they had ran out of brewed coffee. He has to wait a considerable amount of time to get his coffee, all the while the following customers were informed of this fact and offered free beverages for their inconvenience. He was offered nothing and when he asked why he wasn’t told this, the barista sinply shrugged her shoulders and muttered, «I’m sorry». Also, two other baristas touched his cup during this transmission, yet made no effort to inform him of what was happening. I understand that it is a holiday. However, the location was not busy and the experience should have been seamless. We are both extremely disappointed. As a former Starbucks employee, he was appalled by the lack of knowledge of the entire staff, as well as their ineptitude. When he asked who the current district manager is, no one had an answer. I don’t think it’s asking too much to arrive at a Starbucks location and have coffee ready to be served. We will not be visiting your location again. Happy Thanksgiving.

Here’s my order, Starbucks, it’s odd, but not that hard. A 16 ounce tea, two teabags, no room, with a side of skim milk. Here’s my rationale for that order: 12 ounces is two small 1 teabag isn’t strong enough(and the norm for Starbucks is two, so please don’t short me) I hate cream, whole, and 2% and love skim milk(besides, cream is too heavy for tea; skim a much better mix). And you no longer offer skim at the self-serve prep bar. I have to ask for it. There’s a reason I want no room in my tea. By the time you take two soaked teabags out of your cup, there’s plenty of room. If you leave me with room, I end up w/less than 12 ounces of tea after the teabags are removed. I wanted 16, remember? It takes a while to steep tea, once you pour milk in it, the steeping is over. When I place an order please listen to me. Please don’t get lazy and short me with teabags, water, and PLEASE don’t assume you can mix milk, water, and the teabag and assume it’s good. Now to the snarky barista w/attitude who was insulted when I asked her to make me a new tea when she handed it to me with milk already in it… And then she hands me a half a cup of tea with one teabag. And then I got a side of 2%(which I’m pretty sure was on purpose). I asked her for more water, and a second teabag, but kept the 2%. And left after a bad interpersonal experience. Yes, it’s a first-world problem. But I just wanted a cup of tea, and it’s not that hard.

Horrible Very Berry Hibiscus Starbucks Refreshers!!! I ordered a very berry hibiscus with 2 extra scoops of blackberries and 4 pumps of peppermint syrup and, unlike the picture on my mobile phone, it came out practically clear as water with«TWO» berries and a hint of peppermint flavor, which I was charged 50 cents extra for this substitute syrup. I have had this drink many many time at other starbucks, however, when I questioned the barista about the odd color of my drink, she just told me that’s what I ordered. WHATKINDOF A RESPONDISTHAT. Never again… not this starbucks, 525NE Grand Ave — Portland, OR, especially in the PM people if you don’t want to be treated like a moron.

Really annoying 20 year old guy who wants everyone on the planet to hear all his stories from that wicked party last night … The they have me a chai instead of the caramel macchiato I ordered … And they barely put any water in the oatmeal. Pretty sure it’s not hard to put water in the cup? I don’t know. Maybe I’m complaining but it wasn’t great.

By far the most inconsistent Starbucks I’ve ever visited. They screwed my order 50% of the time, and it’s always something simple like sweetened iced tea. They just happen to be the only one on the way to work with the drive-through that’s convenient however I’m going to have to rethink my strategy. Several super super nice people that work there, a few not so nice and of course several but just can’t seem to get an order right. I’ve had the blueberry oatmeal but they never put the blueberries in with just plain, unsweetened iced tea at the time I go through and sometimes there’s just a long wait for apparently no reason. You can’t talk to the manager and they say come back to replace your food but that really doesn’t work for me I just want you to get my order right.

This is quite possibly the worlds slowest Starbucks… They even messed up my order after a 15 minute wait; maybe that’s why they are so slow? Hmmm???

Place was super busy, but they got my drink out fast and was perfect! I saw the manager handle many customers and dealt with some pretty rude people. She was very kind and compassionate.

Nothing special — a pretty small space. Small parking lot, but in this neighborhood, it’s a welcome parking lot! Service is friendly. Coffee is standard Starbucks.

One star for being a Starbucks(convenience). Two more stars for employing a really nice, hilarious dude on the drive thru. What else do you want from me? It’s a Starbucks. If you don’t know what Starbucks tastes like or what they serve, go back to the rock you’ve been hiding under for the past 20 years.

So here’s the kicker. I’ve gone here about 3 times a week for the last few years, ever since they ran Coffee People out of town… barista-stards. I like nothing about them other than I’m literally addicted to the syrup that’s in the white chocolate mochas. It’s not the kind you can buy yourself and they won’t sell me any. Believe, I’ve tried. They ALWAYS get my order wrong. It ALWAYS takes too long. I pass, literally, six other Starbucks on my way to work, but any month with an «R» in it, I’m staying in that car, Baby. There was this amazing transgendered manager who worked the drive through when it was Coffee People. She was, hands down, the best customer service person I’ve ever had the pleasure of buying something from. Not to create a big political coup here(I wonder if Starbucks is like the Scientologists and can disappear people who slam them on line), but I really wish she could have been offered a role there. My morning started out well and I felt liked when she was there. Now I just have all this self-loathing and remorse that I keep going back for more. By the way — $ 5×52 weeks x 3 times per week = $ 780 year. Shoot me now.

Ok, so I have been to this Starbuck’s a few times, and have always just brushed it off as a unique experience, but I’ve had enough. This location is in an old sandwich shop location, across from a Starbuck’s drive through, and four blocks away from two other Starbuck’s. I stopped at this location because I wanted something to eat, and it’s hard to pick your snack in the drive thru line. Mistake number one. I attempt to get into the one(of a dozen or so) parking spot, squeezing in barely. Out front of the store are a group of unemployable taxi drivers smoking and whooping it up.(Parking dilemma solved… all the taxi’s are taking up the spots. And note, this was a problem on every visit I’ve made to this store.) I get through the cloud of smoke to a line of four people randomly standing around looking annoyed. Two cash registers, two employees. One barista, and someone that looks like a manager with a clip board looking clueless. Five minutes to get my order taken, then an additional 5 minutes to get my coffee. By the time I got my coffee, there was a line of 9 people waiting to get their orders taken.(They were not busy, they need a little of their own coffee and need to get with it.) Lame… Becoming more of the standard for Starbuck’s, the mindless workers and mediocre coffee.

I know what you’re saying, «She gave Starbucks 5 stars? Is she smoking crack?!» Why, no, actually I’m not; and its *my* review, I’ll give as many stars as I want! Hrumph. It isn’t that the coffee is the best(it’s not — that would be Stumptown) or that I don’t sorely miss the Coffee People that used to inhabit this spot. Its because this morning, when I forgot my wallet, they gave poor starving me a free latte and breakfast sandwich. Without skipping a beat. Yes, you heard it here, corporate coffee really does have a heart.
