I am not a fan of Starbucks but due to my weekly travel out of PDX concourse A in Jan 2016, the Starbucks at concourse A became my Thursday morning routine at 4:30am. When I traveled on Feb 04, I ordered my usual spinach wrap, water and skipped my usual chai. When I went up to pay, the cheery cashier said, «Good morning [my name]!» I was surprised! The cashier remembered my name and she went on to ask :“no hot drink for you today?” I replied,“the chai is a little sweet for me.” She replied,“we can always make it less sweet.” Even though I didn’t order the chai, the cashier definitely left an impression for her personalized service! She definitely started my early morning on a great note! Thank you cashier gal at PDX concourse A Starbucks!

I decided to skip the SB right near security off Concourse A/C, etc because the lines are lengthy and hoped I could do better closer to my gate. I did. It was great. My coffees were made right and the prices were reasonable. The staff weren’t overtly friendly — more utilitarian but I don’t mind that. Most of the time I welcome that but I kind of expect more from Portland. It’s good to know there are other choices other than the one by the security gate.

First Starbucks to ever get my name right which is surprising since I don’t exactly have a hard or exotic name, so thank you for that one! The staff was super friendly and helpful. I bought a sandwich that I wanted to share so they helped me get a plastic knife so I could cut it. We got the ham and cheese sandwich the bread was a little dry but the sandwich overall was pretty good. I ordered the Smores frappacino with no coffee and the marshmallow whipped cream. The drink tasted amazing! So glad Starbucks added it to the menu and I really hope they keep it on there permanently! Unfortunately, this location did not have the Graham cracker crumbles that goes on top of the drink which made me a little sad because what’s a Smores without the Graham cracker? They were also giving out samples of the peach tea lemonade. That was cool and refreshing. Overall though, I would come back to this location

It’s your run of the mill airport Starbucks. The barista was rather snotty, letting us know they don’t open until 4am, in a rude, snarky tone. I can see your gates are still down, yes… But it’s 3:55am, the concourse just opened, and I feel like being first in line for some coffee. My flight doesn’t board until 6am… So don’t worry, I don’t have anywhere to go.

One of the nicest starbucks staff I’ve come across. I mean starbucks all over portland corners. I love how clean their board is to read and they even explain to guests the different type of coffees. Genuine crowd for an airport staff.

Very friendly and polite staff. Quick service in a busy location. Clean area all around. I’d visit again.

The one at A gate. Convenient but not friendly at all. Would rather buy my coffee somewhere else from now on. Too bad.

This was one of the worst coffee experiences I’ve ever had at a Starbucks. I just ordered a regular large coffee and after adding cream and sugar and sweeteners and more sugar and more sweetener, it still tasted terrible. So I took it back and instead of them offering me my money back they wanted to give me another cup. 2 more times returning the coffee and it still tasted the same. Absolutely terrible. I would not recommend this Starbucks.

The mocha frappuccinos seem a little less sweet than usual. If you like a stronger mocha frappuccino, then this is the location for you. If you like yours sweeter, try a different location(I’m at the one by gate A6). The four star rating is because of the lack of consistency with the frappuccino.

It’s a starbucks, it’s a starbucks in an airport. The lines are long, there are people that don’t understand how lines work nor starbucks. Staff is friendly, coffee comes out in order, it’s dependable!

Decent service at this location. Using a gift card here can be a pain especially using the app that’s they can scan. Mostly because they have no scanner. Their coffee cake was dry so the clerk gave me a new piece and a free drink voucher I can use later. Only thing is I tried to reject the voucher I just wanted the slice. But I died appreciate the gesture and tipped the change from this transaction.

Very poor customer service and rude staff. Got my drink wrong. Charged me wrong amount. I was surprised as Starbucks usually does a great job on all counts.

I’m not usually a big go-to fan of Starbucks, but since we took such an early flight out, we were in desperate need of some caffeine. Starbucks was staring at us, so we caved in and went for the chain. To my surprise, the coffee was a lot warmer and stronger than the ones I usually order(which is rare) in San Francisco. We ordered two coffees, with a scone, which turned out to be warm. :) I was pleasantly satisfied with my morning ritual thanks to nonetheless, Starbucks. Just totally forgot to buy some souviner mugs for friends.

It’s a Starbucks! I don’t drink coffee, but I do like their muffins and I’m a sucker for iced tea anywhere I go.

They didn’t have a scanner. So it took forever to ring up. Also one of my biggest pet peeves. No stopper…

Lots of seating so you can spread out. I left on a Sunday at 2pm and there was no one there. typical coffee, strong, but I’m giving it 4 stars for all the seating there!

You wanna know a secret? I like telling secrets. Especially sexy secrets. But this isn’t a sexy secret at all. It’s just kind of cool and practical and handy, but definitely not sexy. Starbucks has a company policy to fill anyone’s water bottle with their filtered water on request. At no charge. All the way up. No purchase required. So when you remember to bring your refillable water bottle(pollutin’ plastic bottles are for suckers!) through TSA(empty of course) and into the airport, you can go to this S’bux(or any other), wait in line, and have them fill up your bottle. And they’re happy, or at least obliging, to do so. Don’t be a dick tho, it’s nice to tip them at least something for this service. Starbucks doesn’t need the dough but those baristas sure do! Oh, and you can take this tip on the road with you. So when you’re in Mexico or Asia or Los Angeles or some other place where the tap water is not safe to drink you can just find a Starbux and fill up on fresh cold filtered agua. Whether or not you should buy their coffee is really a different matter altogether.

This is the Starbucks in the A(Alaska/Horizon) Concourse. They make Starbucks coffee. They didn’t fuck it up(why so many f-bombs, Sam, you ask? I think traveling brings out the worst in me). They offer honest opinions on specific baked goods(«the chocolate chunk muffin is dry»), which is refreshingly great. It’s a Starbucks, no more, no less – you know what you’re getting, good, bad or indifferent.
