I’ve worked with Linda Vega for years. She is intelligent, caring, and extremely well-​versed in how law firms work. She knows her clients and the work they generate. This allows her to place just the right people at just the right time.
Linda has so much experience that I use her as my HR Business Partner. She helps me be a better manager by providing valuable insight in real world issues. I am a solo office manager and need confidential HR advice.

Initially I had responded to a post for an open position, which brought me to Samuel Newman. It wasn’t a good fit, and I accepted a position elsewhere. Not even one year later, Samuel contacted me with a position that was exactly what I was looking for. I wasn’t actively looking for a new job, but again, Samuel brought me exactly what I was looking for. I interviewed and was selected for the position! A big thank you to Samuel for thinking of me, especially for remembering me almost one year later.

Update: I left the job that I got through Staffing Solutions after three years, and went back to Staffing Solutions to help me find a new one. AGAIN Zeta got me a job within a few days. That was two years ago, and I’m still here, and I love the company I work for.
I will admit that I was a bit scared of Zeta when I first met her, but I will shout it from the rooftops that SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE’S DOING! I am eternally grateful to her and her team.

I applied to Staffing Solutions in late May, letting them know I wouldn’t be in Portland until mid July. As soon as I got back they were calling me, letting me know of assignments they had and whether I wanted to apply for them or further refine the types of jobs I was looking for. Within a week of being in Portland I was placed at a job I ultimately was hired on permanently for.
I interviewed initially with Zeta, who spent a long time talking with me to help me firm up my short term and long term goals career wise and what I wanted to get out of working with a temp agency. Once I got back it was Sam who contacted me to keep me informed of job opportunities and to check in in how I liked my placement. Overall a very attentive, we’ll run company whom I will certainly go back to if I need short term work. I have been recommending them to all my friends.
I particularly liked their attitude towards fresh graduates. It can feel very intimidating going into an office setting from laid back work-​study and they had plenty of time and advice to share without making me feel young and dumb for not knowing. Zeta also gave me advice on where to live in Portland that would be both safe and within a reasonable bus ride to most placements with them.

I am very happy to be working with Staffing Solutions. Sam Newman has been a great help with connecting me to temp work since moving to Portland. From the first meeting I had with Sam I felt like he was in my corner and he really took the time to learn about my skills to ensure I would be a good fit for the company he placed me with.

Through the years, I have needed to use a staffing agency here and there. When I landed in Portland due to life’s twists and turns, I applied for a position they had listed. (I actually did not apply for several positions before this simply because it was with an employment agency. The «dread» factor always overshadowed the positions because the listing was with a temp agency.) Linda and Heather have been nothing but warm, friendly, helpful and actually very enjoyable. I have been extremely comfortable with her gracious concern, her knowledge of the companies in Portland, and her warm professionalism. She has treated me as a «person» and not as a number. She is understanding and encouraging especially when I found a bump in the road. Staffing Solutions is hands-​down the best temp agency in Portland/​Vancouver. Period. I was unemployed for 7 months, signed on with about 8 temp agencies/​staffing companies, and Staffing Solutions was the *only* one that actually got me paid work in that 7 months. And actually it was all through Sam Newman. He is THE guy to know when you’re unemployed. I recommend anyone, whether straight out of high school or mid-​career later in life transition to call Sam. He assists with resumes, is great at follow up, and really makes you feel like you are the only account he has, even though he has dozens. In order to get signed up you will go through a 1 – 1.5 hour intake interview with him, in person, and it’s totally worth it. I could have stayed employed through Staffing Solutions almost full time had I not gotten a job through a friend. Staffing Solutions was a life-​saver for me and my family.

Linda had actually found me on Linked In and had said she had a client that was looking for someone with my experience. When Linda and I met she knew that I would be the perfect fit and she worked hard to get me in the door. I was fairly new in the legal field and she took the time and gave me suggestions on my resume and within a week I had an interview. They got a hold of Linda and within 24 hours I was offered the job. (This fast of a response from an employer has never happened to me before). It was great knowing that Linda was going to bat for me and she truly had my back. As part of the negotiations she asked that I got started so that I didn’t have a lapse in my medical coverage (since I was coming from another employer) which I had never even thought about.

I was deeply dreading signing up to a staffing agency as a temp — tedious and frustrating tests, re-​writing your resume by hand, unsmiling and unsympathetic faces — but saw the great reviews for Staffing Solutions and thought I’d test the waters as I didn’t have much to lose. And the experience was beyond what I could have expected. Once I’d completed my (still tedious and frustrating) tests, Kindra gave me an interview which left me feeling assured that I wasn’t just another chicken on the production line, but a prize-​winning hen at the Portland fair. Okay, so farmyard analogies are pretty weird. But we actually hit it off on a personal level, and she remained in contact with me until I was placed (within weeks, but results may vary). Immediately after my first day on the job, she messaged me to see how it had gone — you honestly cannot ask for much more than that in relation to attentiveness and care in getting placed with a job. She’s kinda amazing.
And to confirm that SS is a bit of an anomaly, I also signed up to another highly rated staffing agency (on Kindra’s advice) and had the complete opposite experience — disinterest, unprofessional, and have not heard a peep from them since.
It’s said a lot, but I honestly cannot recommend both the agency and Kinda (if you’re lucky) enough. She listens, she cares, and she does what’s in her power to get you the job that best matches your needs. Keep in mind that these people aren’t wizards — you might have to take what you can get in this tricky job market — but I genuinely believe that their ultimate goal is happiness and satisfaction on both ends, and due to this they very much deserve both their reputation and 5 star rating on Unilocal
