This place made mistake after mistake after mistake. For no good reasons they changed name, menu, staff, and décor — all of which had been working quite well. Who knows what drives people to make disastrous marketing and management decisions like those made at this restaurant. The location is good. Parking is good. And Sal’s, the restaurant that thrived previously, was altered to something called Sorellina. And now it’s closed. Hope the old Sal’s returns, but that’s probably wishful thinking. Gossip is that this place might be a bakery next. Really? Maybe good to check out the neighborhood first: Zupan’s, Ken’s, Elephants, Fred Meyer, St. Honoré, Papa Haydn’s, and more. The above disaster is what happens when marketing is omitted and the customers are overlooked.

Well, I tried the restaurant again tonight, Monday 1⁄11. They seem to be trying, but really don’t get it. I would think their business expertise from their Pizzacato chain and their Lovejoy bakery restaurant would be of help, but apparently not. Our waitress tonight was very cheesy. My wife and I were called«Honey» all night long. I definitely was not her honey. I finally asked her where she had come from, since I knew I hadn’t seen her before. «Oh, I came from the Pizzacato Pizza chain»… makes sense. After the main courses, I ordered a second order of muscles with French fries. Mind you it’s 7:30 pm., prime restaurant time. Honestly, a full 15 minutes later, the waitress arrives and says, «Honey, I’m sorry but the kitchen just told me we are out of muscles.» Are you kidding me? It took 15 minutes to realize there were no more muscles? It’s Monday and prime restaurant dinner time. If this restaurant ever gets out of the ditch they keep digging, it will be a miracle.

I want to thank the crew at Sorellina’s for being such a great host for our engagement dinner. Jen was amazing and so was the food/drinks! I have worked in the restaurant industry for nearly 8 years and I was throughly impressed with everything! Our party was booked nearly 2 months in advance and fluctuated between 20 – 26 people until the day of the event. The restaurant was more then willing to accommodate our party without the spendy minimum that most places downtown required. We wanted a quiet intimate dinner for our closest friends to dine to celebrate our engagement and this was definitely the right choice. Jen, our server, provided our entire party of 22 a complimentary glass of rose upon arrival and was able to help everyone get their drinks quickly while offering to take a bottle of wine off my bill if I didn’t enjoy it. Food was fired quickly and served just as quickly. Water was kept fresh and cold with the service attentive but not disruptive. There is a fine line between being attentive and being overly crowded and the staff had great awareness to our needs before we realized we needed it. I had ravioli which was amazing and I had a bite of the wagyu burger which was top notch! Wine selection was great and there was never any hard sell on anything. The bill came quietly as I had requested during the initial phone reservation and didn’t even have the auto gratuity on it, which was fine because they deserved much more then the standard 18% for their hard work. Thanks Jen and the staff at Sorellina for making our engagement dinner memorable and we’ll see you again soon!

Food was above average, but portions are petite, and the pasta bowl was garnished with a ring of ground black pepper which ruined the flavor of an otherwise good dish. If a customer wants salt or pepper in their dish they can add it according to their own taste rather than have their meal surrounded by it. I would go back, but request the chef not throw in unwanted seasoning.

This replaced the old Italian restaurant that used to rent the very same space, but great news… The food is just as great and I don’t know if the bartender is new or only the drink menu, but their cocktails are on point.

I loved this place when it was Sal’s(gave it five stars) so was excited to see what Sorellina was all about. My husband and I stopped in on a recent Thursday night around 7:30; the place was fairly busy, but we were seated promptly with drink orders taken and bread arriving shortly thereafter. We didn’t sample much of the menu — just shared the Brussels sprouts appetizer and a pizza — but both were hot and tasty. Portion sizes seemed generous(we took a few pieces of the pizza home) and the drink lists had plenty of beer, wine and cocktail choices. The re-model has brightened up the interior and service was pleasant and attentive, so overall it was an enjoyable Thursday night out. We’ll definitely return to try some of the pastas and more of the menu; I hope others will give it a chance and have a good experience so more positive reviews will pull up their rating! I’d really like to see them make it.

The re-open that had great promise hit the wall. We were so excited to eat fresh made pasta dishes with amazing ingredients when this restaurant reopened. It was a delightful meal. So, we couldn’t wait to come back! What the heck happened?! The restaurant fired the new good chef and brought back someone cooking from cans, packages and precessed food. One of the most disgusting meals we’ve ever had. The same dishes we ordered during the reopened were gross. Oh, and they really brought back the same«classic menu»? They had something going. And we’ll be going… far away from this restaurant never to return. Same your money, time and calories. So disappointed. The neighborhood joint that just wasted its money on a failed relaunch.

We enjoyed a lovely birthday dinner for four on a Friday night. We loved the refreshed and modern interior. The place was full– seemed very much like a local favorite. It was our third visit here and it didn’t disappoint. We started with the frittered calamari– nicely battered and light with grapes cauliflower and lemons. I had a little gem salad; perfectly dressed with a light vinaigrette and thinly sliced watermelon radishes. My wife had the scallop special; very good but perhaps a bit overpriced for just 3 scallops($ 27) the rest of us had pasta– carbonara– lightly treated not too heavy. I had a pasta(Cavatelli?) with fennel sausage rapini and with a nice lemony tang. Kids went next door and got a Ben and Jerrys ice cream while my wife and I had an apple tart dessert. Service was outstanding! We will be back.

I really wanted to eat at the place that was here before, we were sad that it was no more. It was an easy choice to check it out and see what it was about. The website looked great and the menu was interesting. We had great service, great bottle of wine and awesome Frito Misto to start. It was not busy since we were early birds that night. The pasta was great, the Swiss Chard too spicy to eat and the sauce on the eggplant tasted great, but I was not into the color of it? The fresh baked Madelines, Panna Cotta and the Olive Oil cake made great desserts with the coffee after dinner. Nice Clean look, great service, price and portions great. I will be back and enjoyed our meal, hope you do too!
