Excruciating wait. Dumpster at edge of cart smells foul. To go containers, spill in bag and car. Food too hot to eat — physical heat. Still urns my leg just holding after cooling down for 15 min. Kind of Like the old McDonald’s coffee. Decent but unexceptional food. Overall, a pretty poor experience.

Ok, let me start by saying I don’t know much about Thai food. The guys at work have been talking to me about it, explaining tastes and styles and when they told me there was a fantastic cart just up the street from work I knew where I was having lunch. That being said, I had lunch there on a Wednesday, then Thursday then Friday, then the entire following week. I am in love with Thai food and luckily one of the best carts for it(in my opinion) is San Thai. Not having much to compare it with I can just say the food is filling and delicious. So far I have had the yellow, massaman, green and red curries, the pad thai, the yakisoba and the egg rolls and let me tell you nothing disappoints. Ok ok, the egg rolls were a little small,(but very inexpensive) and the yakisoba reminded me of ok chinese food, but everything else was delicious. The curries are complex and spicy and each meal is filling, so much so that it would be easy to make two meals from each serving. And you know what, if you go with chicken or tofu nothing is over $ 7, nothing. However, if you decide to go with beef it is an additional $ 1 and if you go with shrimp another $ 1 on top of that(stick with the chicken or tofu). The folks who work there are very friendly and they take credit cards. Just remember, do to construction in the area they do A LOT of take out, so remember this if you go at noon, there is gonna be a wait. They are open from10am-4pm so hit it just before, or just after the lunch rush. Having gained a bit of experience in this new(to me) cuisine, I told a coworker about it yesterday and we went, he loved it. Guess where we both had lunch today, yup, San Thai.

I have been here numerous times when I am in the neighborhood. I have tried most everything on the menu. The servings are big enough to share with another person. If you ask for the food spiced really really hot, they will hit the mark. The picture is the garlic chicken meal. I order everything as spicy hot as they can make it. Caution, if you order the garlic chicken this hot you will be in for a pleasant surprise, very good!

I work nearby so this place is a go-to out of proximity, but their food is great regardless. Standard fair thai dishes, but they are prepared well and most things are $ 6. Plus everyone who works there is super nice. I recommend the basil stir fry. They’ll make it decently spicy if you ask.

Six dollars for a heaping and tasty serving of pad Thai. All the love of pad Thai at a very Portland Food Cart. Price to quality food rank for me is a 5⁄5. Check it out!

I am so surprised this place has only 2 reviewers! San Thai has the best food for cheap and fast! There have been many times me and my coworkers have come here for lunch and we have never been disappointed! Word to the wise, call ahead and order or there will be a long wait. Also, their spring rolls and peanut sauce are the best in town!

This is my favorite Thai food in the inner south east, specifically the industrial district. I did a pad Thai taste off(unofficial of course) for all the Thai places nearby. This little food cart beat out the competition. I love the red curry and Tom kha soup. You can call ahead to pick up your order when you get there too.

I love this amazing red thai food cart! I have been multiple times and noticed they didn’t have a Unilocal page, so here we go! You can’t miss them as they are a cute red food cart standing by themselves across the street from Le Bistro Montage. I have one of their punch cards so that is how I figured their name, number, and official address. When you buy 10 dishes you get one free. :) The food is amazing. I have tried multiple tom ka soups in the area and they either lack something, or are not coconut –y enough. This place has my favorite in Portland to date! They also have tasty thai iced teas, salad rolls, and chicken pad thai. I haven’t branched out enough yet, but everything smells and looks delicious! The workers are very sweet and friendly. Since I always call in my order, it usually takes about 10 – 15 minutes for it to be ready. When I went today they had new hours posted as 10:30−4 weekdays. Enjoy!
