I wandered on this place by accident. What a nice little store and deli on Corbett in the Lair Hill neighborhood. This is the perfect place to stop for a sandwich and beverage on a lazy afternoon. There is lots of outdoor seating. The menu features everything from breakfast sandwiches, hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, wraps, soups and salads. There is also an extensive selection of beer and wine. I’ve tried the Turkey Wrap which is oven roasted turkey, smoked bacon, Swiss cheese, red onion, lettuce, tomato and mayo in a spinach tortilla. I have also had the Grilled Cheese which is Cheddar, Swiss, Gouda, tomatoes and smoked bacon on sourdough bread. Both were absolutely delicious and came with chips too. The customer service was good and if you call in an order they will have it ready in no time. Nice! 2015-119

A solid place to study, with big windows, a cozy vibe, and good coffee. The sandwiches come with tasty potato salad or chips, and they have gluten free bread for $ 1.50. When the weather’s nice the outdoor tables are great – not too close to the street, lots of big trees. I can’t say it’s the cheapest lunch or breakfast option, but the food is tasty, and the people behind the counter always seem happy to see me, no matter how long I hang out.

Food is great, the two older guys behind the counter were not even close to friendly. They were inconvenienced by the fact that I did not want tomatoes on my grilled cheese sandwich. I know substitutes are kind of a pain in the neck in the food service industry, but it’s less work they have to do… so no biggie, right?

This out of the way café is off the beaten path and we’ll worth discovering. I decided to frequent this little gem after stepping inside the first time. Beautiful atmosphere, great down home foods.

nice, kind of hidden family run joint. Get a coffee, buy some wine or bear and have breakfast. This place was surprisingly kid friendly.

My girlfriend and I made our first visit to Portland over 4th of July weekend. The friends we were staying with took us here for breakfast. I got the ham and egg on grilled sourdough and it was delicious! We went back two days later because I had to have another one! The coffee was great too. They also have a nice selection of beers. I wish my neighborhood in Los Angeles had a place like this.

Yum! Everything from vegan fudge to delicious coffee. Lots of fresh, local, allergy-friendly options. The owner is awesome, too — really involved in the local community.

The best place for delicious sandwiches and burgers. Great coffee and the BEST fries in town. Service is quick and prices are low. Stumptown coffee is the grand. Thanks for the wonderful comfy neighborhood hang out!

Every once in a while I have to take time to point out a business that deserves it, and this place definitely does. Their sandwiches and wraps arnt cheap, but they’re worth what they cost if not more. The sides, sodas and BEER selection available is versatile and awesome. So happy I can call in a Sammy, pick it up in 3min and be back in my office in under 10min. Hope he stays open forever.

This inviting little local spot is an oasis of food and drinks. They’ve got a solid no-nonsense American coffee shop/deli-like menu that always satisfies, whether for brunch or dinner. Great burgers, sandwiches, salads, and breakfast items can be paired with coffees, beer, or soft drinks. It’s a perfect everyday stop for locals.

Clutch., it’s so nice to have places like this close to the home and office. A short walk down Corbett, and bomb food and brews await. Turkey wrap is really good, and the staff is always friendly. Just became one of my haunts.

Grass fed beef hamburgers, Stumptown coffee, not crowded, and a nice selection of items on the menu. The guy working the counter had a San Francisco Giants hat on, so he was ok by me. Looks like they have a lot of hot sauces to choose from

Such a cute little place in a cute neighborhood. CUTE! LOL ok I’m not from Portland, and LA is nowhere near as CUTE as it was here… :) but anyway, this little café/grocery shop was incredibly great to have nearby. My friends and I stayed at a nearby house(airbnb) and it was only a couple blocks away from here. We were in Portland for a mini vacation and on a mission to find some good beers… So we hit this place up as soon as we got there, just to have some in the fridge. They have plenty of choices of beers, wine, as well as non-alcoholic beverages like tea or juice. It was extremely convenient! We also came here to get some breakfast a couple times when we didn’t have brunch plans. Got some breakfast sandwiches and burritos — and while they were pretty simple, everything was still absolutely delicious and satisfying.

Ross Island Café is one of a tiny number of eateries and stores in the Lair Hill neighborhood. That area has been cut into so many dead ends, traffic dividers and one direction turn allowed it is not funny. And unbelievably, they are building more barriers. Although it has many unique walking bridges, it has many more seriously dangerous streets to cross on foot. The aim of transportation designers in this area is a complete mystery, maybe it is a secret treasure map in code? Maybe they will declare success when they cut off every residence from every business from every customer? The area has plenty of small offices and NCNM, but a void when Mercy Corps moved downtown. Wonder why? Ross Island Grocery and Café today is part café, part eatery and part convenience store purveyor of wine, beer, milk, soft drinks and eggs to the neighborhood. The weekend breakfast starting at 8 is basic, but no wait. Limited menu. Counter service to order, meal delivered to your table, and bus your own dishes. Stumptown drip coffee well brewed. I would say I hope more people eat breakfast here and that they up it a notch! In particular the ingredients. I want them to thrive! But today you can meet here as an alternative to popular brunch spots and not run into any of your hipster friends if you are not in the mood. Simple inexpensive food and drink in the ‘hood for the ‘hood. That’s A-OK!

We live just a few min walk from here. It’s got that local feel with friendly staff. Service is slow but worth it. Beer selection is epic and micro brews on tap! Owner is around a lot and involved. Staff hang out with one another and even hang out there when they are off. It’s the perfect local joint!

Solid lunchtime choice. I’ve never had to wait very long for a sandwich or wrap, and they’re an easy walk from my office. I’lm personally in love with the turkey wrap, it’s not going to knock your socks off, but it hits the spot every time. They have a nice variety of beverage choices and a pretty good looking menu. I haven’t tried most of it yet.
