Rose City Dental Care

Rose City Dental has been my dental provider for over a decade and I will never switch, as long as they are in business. First off, the clinic has amaizingly talented doctors. They take time to listen to whatever dental issues either I or the rest of my family members have and figure out the best treatment plan. They worked with all insurances that I switched over the years. The staff members are very professional, warm and welcoming — it feels like family at this point. I love this clinic for their high degree of professionalism and skills, warm atmosphere, and the fact that they can always find availability — even on weekends. Thank you, Rose City Dental.

I have had too many bad dentist experiences in my lifetime; last one right here in our fair city. My husband found Rose City Dental through Unilocal and I hesitantly made an appointment… Enter Dr. Tae Lee. I LOVE HIM. Dr Lee is the best, he’s awesome: he listens to me, he tells me what he’s doing, he doesn’t sugar coat things, he explains what’s going on, he is super amazing and I hope that he’ll be my dentist forever and ever. Everyone at Rose City Dental is nice, professional and caring. I have had a root canal and various other services done and I would recommend their practice anytime.

I would recommend Rose City Dental to anyone! Dr. Lee is so good. He is very precise and really wants his patients to have the best care and the best teeth! Everyone in the office is fabulous! The front office ladies, dental assistants, hygienists etc… are all so friendly and helpful. You can tell that all of them love their jobs and they are great at what they do.
Before doing work they find out what insurance will pay and let you know ahead of time how much the procedure will cost. You will not be disappointed —

I had an amazing childhood dentist, whom I saw frequently due to bad teeth/​gums. Now as an adult, I have very high expectations of what a dentist is capable of. Even still, Dr. Lee & his team blew me away with their attention to detail, caring attitude, and dedication to me as a patient. I was incredibly surprised with this rare and special find!
When I first walked in the door, the receptionists said hello to me by name (incredible how great that can make you feel) and asked how my new nephew was and if I was right about his name. During my previous appointment he had been born and they had remembered EVERYTHING! During the root canal, Dr. Lee discovered it was going to be a more complex procedure than he first thought. He took care of it quicker and less painfully than previous root canals I’ve had, and when we were done, explained the process to me. Obviously the more complex one was more expensive, and I was willing to pay, after all, sometimes there’s no way to know until you’re in there, but he assured me the price would be the same. WHAT?! Yes, he told me, he never asks a patient to pay more than the original quote. I have never heard of such a thing in all my 40 years, but it was true. He also did the procedure in three segments so I could pay in three stages with no penalty.
They knew my name, they remembered my nephew & his potential name, the procedure was less painful and faster (despite being worse off to begin with), and it all cost me less than it could have. In fact, it actually cost me less than my last root canal when I had insurance! Thank you Dr. Lee!!!

I can’t believe how easy getting my wisdom teeth pulled was. That dentist is a rock star. He was done quickly and my recovery was so easy. I trusted his advice and knew he was not recommending an unnecessary procedure just for my money. And the price was fair, probably less than anywhere else. Also during another visit a dental hygienist taught me how to floss properly. I’ve been doing it wrong for years. The whole staff is great. I will keep coming back.

Extremely pleased with their service, knowledge and office. I took my son in for a cleaning and exam. They definitely go the extra mile to make it a good experience for people who live in terror of dentists. My son left feeling educated about dental hygiene and motivated to take care of his teeth. Everyone I interacted with, including the dentist, was friendly and genuine. Highly recommended.

I am very unhappy with this place. The front desk staff and dental assistants are nice but my experience with the dentist was one of the worst so far (although Dr Tae is way better than his brother). I was told my crown will be 100% porcelain white crown. After several visits and fitting in the crown I ended up with the porcelain fusion metal crown (supposedly it was the best option but the most importantly IT WAS NOT COMMUNICATED TO ME). In addition, my good crown underneath was polished so much that the dark brown metal is now showing. I wanted to get the reimburesement for this crown (that they broke!) but they would not even offer a tiny discount! The dentist was not very sorry about it and did not even mention it to me.
I also mentioned the free teeth whitening deal for new patients when I first came in (found it on their website) but nobody had any idea what deal I was talking about. Overall, I felt very rushed all the time, I often did not even had a chance to ask the dentist a question before he was gone from the room. If people are happy with this place, it is only because they have never had a truly good dentist.

What a wonderful, genuine, staff. They are very caring and understanding, not judgmental like every other dentist I have ever been to. I have been going for 2 years and have had the same experience every time. Unfortunately, I can usually only go when I have an emergency due to low funds, and I am blown away by how fast they are able to get me in. Thanks Dr. Lee/​staff!

Wonderful staff, and the dentist is so kind and skilled. I came here after a series of hellish experiences with the staff at Mountainside Dental, and I’m so glad I switched. I’m in the process of getting a root canal and empathic care is of the utmost importance. I have super sensitive teeth and require more than the usual amount of novocaine to get numb, and I felt like I was listened to in that regard. Plus, I was always told what was happening at every step of the procedure. No one likes going to the dentist, but this place makes it as painless as possible.

I have been coming to Rose City Dental for 20 years and Dr. Lee and staff are great! I feel like I’m part of the family there. Dr. Lee is very caring and gentle to make sure you are comfortable. My hygienist Carol is the best! I was very lucky for myself and my husband to come across this place 20 years ago. I will not go anywhere else! Simply Outstanding! I highly recommend them for any of your dental needs!

I first found interest in this dentist office because of the extremely helpful reviews on Unilocal.I called the office, they were super friendly and understanding of our situation. My husband had a very bad infection and a root canal needed to be done as soon as possible. I was so shocked that they were able to get us in the very next day (made me feel like they were understanding of the situation and it really put me at ease). They have a strong community of teamwork where everyone is on the same track and knows how to work together to give the best care possible. On his second appointment, he was scheduled to finish the root canal. A week prior we thought it would be a good idea to try to get a cleaning done in the same day, so i called them, spoke to someone very nice and understanding again. She said there werent any openings that day but sometimes there are cancellations so she would call me if there were. Lucky us because they were able to fit it in, again with all their support and understandings. So the appointment time came, barely spent anytime waiting & they finished up his root canal. I wont forget to mention that Dr. Lee and his assistant were continuously checking in on him & making sure he wasnt in any pain or discomfort. Its the support like this that makes me want to come back & its also the idea that makes me want to spread the word about this company as well. His root canal went well, rechecking with xrays about the location & filling/​infection areas. We had about 30 minutes to spare in between appointments, and we asked if we could use that time to do a filling in another tooth. Without question Dr. Lee was happy to do this proceedure without advanced request; again in awe about their commitment in their patients. I wont forget to mention the atmosphere of their office; nice wall décor, very clean, flat screen tv for guests, coffee hot choc. Tea, skylights and big windows. Overall i am EXTREEMLY impressed with this office and they had the best scheduling available to us (open on saturdays is a plus for the work schedule), the friendliness of staff, their commitment, their response times (responding to phone calls) is all fantastic. I could go on and on, the good news is that my husband got his teeth fixed and rose city dental is the one to thank.

Everyone from reception, to the assistants, and of course the dentist put you at ease. I am always nervous and uncomfortable at the dentist, even if it’s just a cleaning. Everyone here have always been patient and comforting. No one judges you, they’re just here to help. I will continue seeing Dr. Lee and will refer him to anyone that will listen.

Even though their location is not the greatest with public transportation and I was 10 minutes late, I was not heckled. In fact, the hygienist mentioned I could have even been later, if I wanted ;)
But not only was I able to get my 6 month dental cleaning and Xrays completed, but also a cavity filled at the same appointment without having to go through scheduling another appointment. I was very pleased with their service and genuineness.
Also, this is the first facility where I was able to get a print out of my cavity they took a picture of during the filling!

Rose City Dental is by far the best dentist I have ever been to! Both Dr. Lee’s are professional, knowledgeable, and quick. On my first visit, I had the most thorough cleaning EVER, which was awesome! Unfortunately I needed to get a filling, and with my past experiences, I was nervous because they always turn out to be pretty painful. I expressed my concern with Dr. Lee and he made sure to numb me extra as added insurance. That whole experience was quick and painless, and I would never consider going to another dentist because of it! Thank you Rose City Dental!

Best dentist that i’ve ever gone to. They really know their stuff and dont do anything extra. Everyone in the office has a lot of experience and treats me very well.

Dr. Lee runs a tight shop and he’s a great guy. Admittedly, I am not a dentist, but the work Dr. Lee has done on my mouth seems to be holding up great. The staff at Rose City Dental has always been pleasant and professional. I’ve only had fillings done at Rose City but each time it has been quick and painless.
Exceptional things to note: I chipped one of my teeth/​fillings recently and Dr. Lee fixed it for free. The last time I was in to get some fillings, there was a big snow/​ice storm, and my car was essentially stuck in the parking lot. Not only did Dr. Lee let me park my car at his office until I could come retrieve it, but he personally GAVE ME A RIDE HOME! If that isn’t service, I don’t know what is.

I started coming here about two years ago and have worked with both Dr.‘s — Tae and John and had an excellent experience with both. They are both very patient and knowledgeable and did a great job in making my experience as painless as possible. They also have great dental hygienists for regular cleanings. I would highly recommend this practice.

I’ve been a patient of Rose City Dental for over 5 years now and each time I’ve visited they do their very best to make you feel comfortable and explain why what they are doing.
I have had both Dr. Tae Lee and Dr. John Lee work on me. Dr. Tae Lee done some root canal work and extractions I must say I never felt any pain. They are really good with using the local anesthesia needle. However, I won’t blame anyone but there are times when things just don’t go as expected with your dental health (aging and just bad luck) that I can’t explain why it happens. Dr. Tae and Dr. John Lee both try their best to solve the issue (s). Like I just recently had a chip tooth from eating and Dr. Tae was able to fix it and I couldn’t tell it was chipped.
Dr. John Lee also has another office in Beaverton and he also does his own crowns. He does a really good job to make sure the crowns fit and will re-​order it if it doesn’t. Most places just slaps it on and send you off your way. I have also had a major amount of credit reimbursement ($ 700) due to some mismatched communication/​expectations on some insurance coverage and was credit that towards a crown. I really appreciated that.
Rose city’s staff are friendly and does courtesy calls to make sure you don’t forget your appointment. They also have a handful of dental hygienist that does a great job and tries to make me feel comfortable during the cleaning session. no complaints in this department. The facility is clean and up to date with coffee, tea with TV and magazines while you wait so you’re not bored. Their facility just recently got upgraded with some cool X-​Ray and Photo computer system that outputs the results to the monitor instantly. I use to have to wait 10 – 15 minutes for the X-​Rays to be developed (old method).
They do good dental work because they don’t want to lose face (and that’s important in any Asian community) on their workmanship and reputation. I have had bad experiences in the past with other dentists (not local to PDX). I hope we continue to be patient/​doctor for many more years to come.

I have been here twice. People from my work go here and recommend it. I was told this place is great if your teeth are jacked, they won’t shame you. I can’t speak to that, I have been blessed with good teeth.
First visit, redeemed whitening kit and got a cleaning. No cavities! Dentist was friendly, hygienist talked a lot, kept the process moving.
I’m not overly wowed with this dentist but it’s pretty easy to get to and it accepts my insurance. Maybe I got spoiled having the same dentist from age 10 to 26.
I like that they call to confirm, a missed appt doesn’t cost anything. Private parking lot. I don’t like how much they talk AT me rather than to me. I also feel my time with the dentist is limited. Maybe it’s because my teeth are good and he’s got other mouth wrecks to deal with. :shrug:
Either way, it’s just comme ci, comme ca. I can take or leave it.
