So dissatisfied with my ongoing rite aid experience this week. I’m going on an international trip to a country that requires a typhoid vaccine which most insurances do not cover. This is a time sensitive vaccine that needs to be completed a week prior to my travel. So I went to my local rite aid to fill my prescriptions but they neglected to fill the typhoid just because my insurance doesn’t cover it and they weren’t sure if they should order it because they didn’t know if I would pay… NOSHIT I need it. They said they tried calling me, which is BS I always have my phone close to me especially things like this. So they ended up sending me to the rite aid in pearl which I’m not sure what the lesser of two evils is. Before I arrived they told me the drug was $ 90 and some change but I get there and it magically raised to $ 100. Not only this, but I just discovered about 30 min ago that it needed to be refrigerated the whole time. You think the pharmacist would’ve said something?! Well she didn’t so I’m not even sure if this vaccine is going to work now. To add to it all the technician who checked me out lied to my face. I asked if they had a helium tank to fill up some balloons I brought with and she said no not here. I asked again at the front and what do you know, they do! So long story short, lost about $ 100 bucks, most likely going to contract typhoid fever and lost all trust in rite aid.

The store is fine in most aspects, but the drive thru pharmacy is the slowest customer service in all of Portland.

The Pharmacist here(I think his name is Emanuel) is terrible! Terrible with customer service, and zero empathy for customers. I took my sister here to refill her prescription after her RPAO surgery(Periacetabular Osteotomy) which is pelvic reconstruction. Her pelvis is broken in 3 places, held together by 4″ screws. She has been super nauseous, and in a significant amount of pain, as you can imagine. He looked at her refill and rudely told her she doesn’t need this much, and she shouldn’t need anymore after this, and that he doesn’t have to fill it(in a rude tone, and meaning to be a DICK.) EXCUSEMEASSHOLE!!! Did I hear him right?! Who the hell is he to tell people how much pain they should be experiencing?! I felt like I was imagining what he was saying to my poor sister and even more blown away, that he is telling her how much pain she should be experiencing! To top it off, the other lady at the counter(equally rude) told my sister she needed to call before she came to get her script. My sister said she would have been happy to call but didn’t know she was supposed to, that she got a text saying it was ready which she showed to the lady. The lady said«well you need to call» OMG this place is terrible! Do not come here, go somewhere else and deal with people who are empathetic and have genuine interest in your healing.

They never have my prescriptions ready on time. Their customer service is horrible, they don’t seem to really care about their customers!

I have been frequenting this Rite Aid for several years and cannot think of one bad experience I have had here. I am always greeted at the door and have been able to get questions answered when needed. This is a great place to come for deals on wine and sometimes hard cider. I always get my prescriptions filled at the pharmacy here and the staff back there is friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable.

A few of my neighbors recommended the pharmacy here, so I thought I’d check it out. The staff are very friendly, and the pharmacist did a great job of explaining the protocols around the prescription. Best pharmacy in the area that I’ve found.

This is a very nice and well-stocked Rite Aid that has surprisingly comprehensive security. To be frank, the giant bouncer-esque guy that stands at the entrance to this place half the time is a little unnerving, but he’s always been polite to me, so that’s good. This is one of those Rite Aids that is like a mini superstore in that they’ve got some foodstuffs and hardware and sundries that are a little bit outside of the scope of a normal drugstore. It’s definitely not a supermarket and the foodstuffs are pretty much limited to boxed items, but you can get surprisingly good deals here. For example, they seem to have a reasonably expansive spice selection on hand, and all of the varieties are a dollar a bottle each. It ain’t Penzey’s, but that’s very inexpensive for bottled spices. Outside there is plenty of parking for both cars and bikes alike, and also a Blockbuster movie rental kiosk. They do cash back if you need it. Where this place really knocks it out of the park, though, is with their wine selection. Seriously. It takes up an entire wall. Even better, this place definitely has the best prices on wine that I’ve seen in the area — for a while they were running 2 bottles of reasonably high-quality vino for five bucks, which even blows Plaid Pantry out of the water. Individual bottles run more or less at standard prices, but the deals are amazing. So if you’re a wino like me, you’ll like this place a lot. So, yeah, if you’re concerned about your bottom line, it’s a good idea to come check this place out. If you shop primarily here and at the Fred Meyer’s down the way on Lombard, you’re probably shopping as cheaply as you can get in Portland, barring Grocery Outlet.
