This new and used clothing, shoes and accessories store is fairly massive in size and quantity. The new clothing selection is perfectly numbered since there aren’t huge amounts of the same item. The used section is an eclectic mix of the present and decades past. There is a selection of various ethnic wear, as well as mid-​century bridal wear. We found new clothing pieces at a bargain. This store is located in the Hawthorne district. Since we found only 1-​hour parking spots, be sure to check on your vehicle because you will spend a good amount of time in here.

Good true vintage (Pre-​60s) clothing, but you really have to look for it as there’s miles of 80s polyester .
One note — check what you buy really carefully for damage as the lighting isn’t good. Bought a cowboy shirt (checked it) and when I got outside in better light could see it was covered in small moth holes

I hate to say this but we’re officially boycotting this place. I guess we’re just not uncool enough to be treated with some common courtesy. The workers in here are pretentious and just rude. I’m pretty sure we were scoffed at on our entrance instead of greeted. That was the first visit. I was in disbelief. So we gave them a second chance. A few weeks later we were in the neighborhood and thought we’d check out what they had to offer again. Yet again, we were treated poorly right from the get go. The guy behind the counter looked up when we entered, I waved, smiled and said hello. He just looked back down at whatever he was doing. Maybe he was blind and deaf? Could be the case but if not that is just down right rude in my world.
The worst part is this place has some really interesting clothes and my wife really liked their massive selection of unique stuff but we just can’t shop at a place that treats their patrons in such a manor. They won’t be getting any of our hard earned doll hairs and I hope if they treat you the same you follow suit.

Blown away by the selection of vintage clothing, shoes and accessories they have here! The prices are rad… best priced finds include a $ 9 vest and $ 10 velvet skirt. I also saw a pair of $ 40 white gogo stacks that I bought a month ago from someplace else for $ 90. Too bad! They were my size too. I’m sure some lucky shopper will score those bad boys and rock the hell outta them. On top of all the clothes were the exceptional employees. I adore each of their unique styles, especially the lady manning the fitting rooms with the joker/​beetle juice? outfit. They were all so friendly and down to earth. So thanks for the genuine VIP treatment. My best friend and I will be back for more… you can count on that!!!

One of best in Portland when it comes to that money spot where it’s re-​used, vintage… But it’s still not really expensive and actually good deals plus they be rockin quality not junk being resold with occasional but super rare finds for cheep that’s thrift shopping. So I guess like quality focused vintage and thrift store pricing (let’s be real) we all know this is why you go, were to have a baby?

Definitely a fab store. Kind of pricey but it’s retro so I get it. Staff is cool for the most part. I’ve found some treasures and absolutely love the weird selections from all the different decades. Would totally wanna work here, just because of the fashion part of it. Fabulous.

Hipster Paradise with an enormous collection of vintage threads. They have everything from uniforms, jackets, hats, boots, and accessories. You can easily spend an hour here. It’s not a cheap thrift shop but it’s organized and has a lot of interesting things.

Love this place, always find the best funky, vintage, eccentric items that you just can’t find elsewhere (except online, where I do most of my purchases).
Adore the Hawthorne District for its hippie-​ish funky vibe! This place is no exception!

I have been to this store several times and have always been treated with kindness, this store was one of my favorite vintage clothing shops, until this Sunday! I am a mother of 2, 14yr old and 9 month old. And I went to the red light on Sunday around 2pm in hopes to help my 14yr old find some great vintage pieces and upon entering the store with my stroller I was told by a tall male «our store is to busy for you to be pushing that thing around» I was completely appalled! I couldn’t believe I was being Discriminated against because I am a mother! I will never give my business to this establishment again. You would think they would be welcoming of people of all shapes, sizes, ethnicity, gender!

My go to place to look for something unique for Halloween. for you asshats that say it smells, hello most of the items are vintage not to mention the building is old. Get the hell over it. Best old velvet paintings I have seen ever.

I shopped in this store for about an hour. Always found something on another shelf that kept me looking.
Walked out with a few new outfits with a slight dent in my wallet.
The clothes here were a bit more pricey than I expected them to be for a thrift store like this, but then again, it is Portland.
The clothes here are definitely fun. There is no way you can walk out of here empty handed!

Great staff. These eccentric and fashionable people are kind and full of love. for people and the past fashion. Small minded peple need not open the door. Fabsheik retro style is always in and this place knows its spot in the Genre… A MUST GO! support small business and support the love of the past. step into time and be who you wanted to be once upon a time. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

The man behind the counter was wearing black lace panties, an unbelted calf length mother of pearl lingerie jacket and a black lace bra. That’s all.
He had Apple red nail polish, blue eyeshadow and a short men’s hair cut.
It was all nonchalant in a way that I hadn’t witnessed since maybe Austin in the 80’s.
A room brimming with musty second hand shirts coats and boots, offered most items from $ 10 – 45. It’s funky hipster central here
in a refreshing new wave flashback kind of way, similiar to a certain strange basement vintage store I used to shop at on Union Square in 1980’s NYC.
The women’s section is the other large room to the right, with an even better selection than the men’s.
If your on Hawthorne, I’d pop in if you wanna thrift shop. Just be aware that it kind of smells, and keep an open mind.

The staff here is ridiculous; from the Gandalf wannabe to the angry little person in the ass-​less outfit. You are not counter-​culture, you are not unique, you are not subversive and you are certainly not making a statement. Everyone in Portland LOOKS JUST LIKE YOU. Not a good look, in the scheme of things. While trying to convey an «ooohh, look at how different I am» persona you end up looking like children playing dress-​up. Grow up and learn how to be truly counter-​culture. An ugly beard and ass-​less chaps does not a unique snowflake make. As for the clothing and store itself– the buyer should be canned and the place smells like Vishnu took a dump.

I’ve found some okay clothing here and its fun to browse the racks. But the employees are the worst.

I just want to write a follow up review to my review from earlier this year.
The staff at Redlight has obviously had a serious attitude adjustment. I’ve been there twice in the past two months and everyone was much nicer, helpful and friendly.
They’re not warm and fuzzy but that would just be weird.
We have a choice where we spend our money and I totally appreciate the friendlier experience.

In my wanderings of South East, I have found so many types of places to go in and out of that sometimes you lose track of where to go and sometimes shops pop up and you are like… hmmm can I find something in here.
I ended up in Red Light actually looking for an outer coat. Didn’t find one, or at least one that I’d put on. But I did ended up with a really nice blue and green knit scarf. I am very much lacking in the scarf department since I didn’t quite need them in Texas. Apparently they are kind of a necessity in this area. So score one point for me.
Heck, it’s a used clothes store, you know what you will find when you come in here. You can sell clothing here and for the holiday season you can get your wonderful Ugly Sweater for all the Christmas parties coming up! It’s not my norm, but I could see finding the occasional odds or ends that I might need.

Hawthorne provides so many things to the people of Portland, places to eat, a place to laugh, a place to people watch and a place to shop at like this. The staff is as colorful as the clothing. We strolled in here looking to see if we could find something off the wall. I can say I saw miles and miles of flannel and t shirts, and every color robe imaginable.
We were not once greeted by anyone, is this Hawthorne snobbery at its best? Possibly, because even as we walked up to the counter to look at some old school magazines, the guy behind the counter with his giant walrus mustache and pin striped skinny hipster pants could not bring himself to even acknowledge the customers less than a foot from him.
The place is covered in black velvet art work and there was a velvet Elvis painting a friend has been wanting, so I called back later to ask if it were for sale. Okay, I expected walrus guy to answer but it was a high pitched giggling girl, and she said, «no we sell clothes and clothing accessories, NOT paintings, all our paintings are for decoration, you see we sell clothes not art, right?»
Sniff paint much from that art work? My word, the chick was talking like she was drinking Red Bull meets Quad espresso shots. I am glad she said it nicely and sort of Hawthorne Blvd style, so I didn’t become instantly pissed for an innocent question.
At least go check them out and the Boutique Goodwill across the street, they pretty much go hand in hand.
