Shortly after moving to PDX, I was looking to have some wood furniture custom-built for both my bedroom and office. After much perusal at the retail level, both locally and online, happened upon Miguel Rivera’s furniture site. A couple of cursory phone conversations later — it was immediately apparent that he not only understood the aesthetic, but he was super-excited to undertake the projects. Once he submitted his design proposal for the bed frame, in which he thoughtfully produced some subtle-yet-awesome variations in addition to our original idea, I made a choice. Within a couple of weeks, he delivered something entirely made by hand, with leaps and bounds more character than anything we could’ve scooped at one of the big-box furniture stores. Now, you may ask — isn’t this supposed to be a review for Radworks Screen Printing? Why yes, it is… So, we now interrupt this regularly scheduled review of Miguel’s furniture-building exploits to discuss his core business focus — Radworks PDX. Of course, already knowing him from the aforementioned, some months back when I needed to print an emergent run of t-shirts and stickers for a very particular client, I immediately phoned Miguel. And, no surprise here, he and his team’s attention to detail and expediency was par excellence. Most importantly, my very particular client(s) were very, very happy with the end result. In addition to his incredible design sense, vast knowledge of printing techniques and environmentally friendly inks(see: gluten-free, vegan), hand-feel of garments/fabrics/materials, blank brands, etc. — one of Miguel’s greatest strengths is his ability to communicate with the client. And as many of you out there know, that’s an invaluable trait. I’m stoked to post the first Radworks PDX review, and, as such, I truly cannot recommend them highly enough.
