Morning hours vary from those posted, but it’s a great early evening and late night spot for munchies or the urgent, must-​have lotto ticket. You’ll always find either the owner or his wife behind the counter. He’s tersely welcoming. She’s all smiles. Occasionally they have some world-​class shouting matches when they’re working at the same time, but it’s all in Korean so it’s possible that I’m reading too much in, and they’re just discussing the weather.
The place carries everything from Pop Tarts to heat-​lamped jojo’s, slushies to beer and wine to grits (of the cook your own variety). This market is a throwback to an earlier, less gentrified era of the neighborhood, and I like it.
