A very nice little vegan café with very friendly service at the counter. The curry bowl with brown rice and veggies was delicious. Wish they’d expand to be just a restaurant with more comfortable seating rather than sharing space with a yoga center.

They really go above and beyond! Not only is there food delicious i can really taste the love. They’re customer service is outstanding, i tried to branch out from my usual favorite and ended up really disliking the taste of the pumpkin waffle(but thats my weird taste buds, im sure a normal human would LOVE it). I was gunna order something else but they offered to cover it and i was pleasantly surprised, I didn’t expect that at all! I don’t get to come here often but im happily impressed every time! I love the peaceful environment thats joint with Yoga Pearl(side note, cleanest restrooms ever– which is great for a germaphobe such as myself haha) Prasad is wonderful and I sincerely recommend it!

When I’m visiting my friend from New York, he knows the first place we need to eat is here. I love the rice bowls, juices, wellness shots and protein spheres. The staff is always friendly and I can count on feeling full, healthy and happy every time I come here. Huge fan.

As a proud card carrying meat eater it hurts me a little bit to say this but this place is awesome. We had family visiting, who are vegetarian, so we explored for good vegetarian options around and found this place. We were so glad that we did. As other reviews have pointed out, the word Prasad means an offering to the Gods. It is usually given to worshippers after it has been offered to the Gods as a sign of their blessing. Food: we had the Chipotle Chili Bowl, Yogi bowl and BBQ plate. All the three were yummy and tasted a lot like Indian food if you ask me. They had lentils and chick peas and greens. So the flavor profiles were very similar to veg Indian food. I will especially mention that I enjoyed the flavor of the BBQ Chickpeas in the BBQ plate a lot. Drink: I had the Walnut Milk Hot chocolate and enjoyed it. I think it was the first time I had walnut milk. Sweets: we tried the raw macaroons and I loved the matcha one. Will go back to this place to enjoy some wonderful veg food.

Excellent service. I found this place by accident! As a foreigner, of course I ended up getting lost in the Portland bus system. It was 3pm and I was famished. Because of a dietary condition, I can’t stop at any old pizza joint. I was so grateful to see a healthy option pop up on Unilocal! Got the Mighty Bowl and a glass of juice. Everything was fresh, clean, and tasty. I can’t stop thinking about that juice! Prasad is connected to Yogapearl, which offers drop in yoga classes for a STEAL. I actually returned that very night for yoga AND dinner. I will so be coming back.

This place made me smile today. The staff was great and so helpful as I pondered what to order & they’re recommendations were spot on. The food was so delicious and fresh. The flavors were all just delightful! Oh, let me tell you what I ordered… Pasta Fresca, OMG that was just so good! I mean, it sounds simple on the menu, but when you take that first bite, it’s amazing! The flavors, especially that cashew cheese is ridicilous!!! Just a heads up those, this dish is cool, it’s not a hot dish, but you’ll be happy, trust me! I also had a cup of their chipotle chili, which was yummy, but it didn’t have the same WOW effect on me as the pasta fresca. For my beverage, it was a little chilly, so I ordered the turmeric toddy and it was divine… I mean, if you like turmeric drinks, you’ll love this one. I’ve only been here once, but when I’m back in Portland I really want to come back and try some more things from the menu & maybe try some yoga next door.

I love that Prasad shares its space with a yoga studio, it feels very fitting considering their healthful menu. Last time I was in, I had the Mighty Bowl, which was good but needed a lot more sauce or seasoning. I really wish they had at least one sauce with a bit of kick! I also had the salad rolls, which were a bit strange. The texture of the rice paper was very soft, with no chew to it. I also thought the peanut sauce tasted more like curry than anything else. However, I will still be back here as often as I can, if only for a Stumblebee smoothie. Had one a month ago and have been dreaming about one ever since. Thankfully, I’m back in school on the 5th and will just have to get one on the way home! One other thing I love about this place is the sliding scale for the Mighty Bowl. I am fortunate enough that I can pay full price for my meals, but knowing they offer the same bowl to someone less fortunate at a lower price really warms my heart. I don’t know if they do this, but I’d really love to pay it forward and buy the meal for the next person who comes in and cannot afford a healthy meal. This place is one of the reasons I love living in this city.

Yay Portland restaurant of choice number 3!!! This organic food was amazing. Not the biggest place so if you’re in a big group you may want to order to go. But it’s totally worth it. Their to go cups are plastic looking but made from plants(one more step in the right direction) And they have a wide variety of simple organic food, smoothies, and juices. Organic food… At a restaurant… I knew it was possible!

It’s healthy. There are a lot of options. And service is always good. It’s just not really my taste. I like to think that healthy eating doesn’t always have to involve fancy or complicated ingredients. Prasad has a cool concept: bowls, salads, smoothies, etc. with lots of variations & sauces. Buuuuutttt… the flavors seem to be lacking in umami(that savory quality to food). I’m not sure how else to put it except to say it’s not hearty and I don’t usually finish the whole thing. In contrast, other places like Whole Bowl use an incredibly basic palette of ingredients to deliver a simple, straightforward dish that’s also healthy and less expensive. My recommendation: try Prasad(either this or its Hawthorne location) at least once, and see if it’s your thing. It wasn’t for me.

If you’re looking for a peaceful, yummy spot to try I recommend coming here! The café is in a large open space that’s shared with a yoga studio, while dining they ask to keep low tones to not disrupt meditation. The food was amazing! My husband and I got the chili and the pasta Fresca and both were filling but refreshing. Overall, it’s such a cool ambience and the food is healthy yet filling and tasty! Definitely recommend eating here.

You can feel the coolness you are about to experience as soon as you see this place !!! I just had their tea/juices this time. For sure coming to try their salad bowls and other vegan options very soon. I am amazed by the variety of tea they offer. I had a ginger tea. Looking forward to try Turmeric Toddy tea next time around. ‘PRASAD’ is a Sanskrit word. This is used very widely in India. In Hindi language it means food offered to Gods first and then to the disciples or whoever comes. You can get PRASAD in any temple or gurudwara you visit. I have yet to find out why this place is named PRASAD! This place is all hip and is signature of what Portland is known for. I just loved the vibes and I am going there again very soon!

A few months back while on vacation my family and I completed the 4T trail in 95 degree weather. If you are not familiar with this journey it consists of using four types of transportation to explore a huge area within Portland. You take the train from downtown to Washington Park where you take a trail, to a tramway to a tram. Pretty clever eh? Anyway now I will ‘end rant’ and go into how this relates to Prasad. After this adventure we were exhausted, sticky, sweaty, and in need of electrolytes and nourishment. Somehow we ended up at Prasad which was probably the worst thing to eat after a sweaty day outside. I ordered a bowl with green chile sauce, and though delicious was way too much fiber to wisely ingest after our activities. We were all totally parched and in asking if they had iced tea, which I didn’t think was an outlandish question the girl at the counter scoffed at me and said no. She recommend a ginger tea which I made the mistake of chugging. While I’m sure this has some detoxifying qualities it is not for the faint of heart and not to be chugged, I could not breathe for about 30 seconds after swallowing the tea it was so spicy. In general I normally love places like Prasad, hence the 4 stars. I have eaten at Café Gratitude many times and I dig the similarities, but more down to earth vibe of Prasad. It’s sort of strange you need to be quiet while eating due to its placement in a yoga studio though. So after getting a throughly«Portland-esque» lunch at Prasad we all left with strange things going on in our digestive tracts and hoped for the best. Luckily for dinner we neutralized it out with biscuits at Tin Shed. And I kid you not later that night we coincidentally watched the Portlandia episode where they go to Prasad on the show… I haven’t laughed that hard in years.

Can this place be any more healthy? Uhm, yes, yes it can — by having a yoga center in the same building! I ordered the Buddha bowl, even though the server said that the dragon bowl is more popular. I think the sweet potato got me. This place is a «prefer first, then find a seat.» If you’re ordering in, then you’ll be given a number so that they can bring your food to you! Light, refreshing, and filling are all words that come to mind when I think of this healthy spiritual place. I would come back for the food and if I did yoga, I’d probably be a regular here! Parking can be such a drag though

Wow! Vegan food can be delicious! My sister and I were in town visiting from seattle. We were impressed at the options for vegan food in Portland since my sister eats only vegan. Perfect place for lunch with so many options! The chipotle bowl is so delicious and savory I crave it now. I will most likely return here next time I’m in the area. The lemon hot toddy was very strong but delicious and nutritious. The best part was the rawdelicious blueberry cheesecake. It was the creamiest cheesecake I’ve ever tasted. And it didn’t even have cheese in it. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone looking to try something new.

When I first saw it I thought it was the wrong place but then realized Prasad shares space with Yoga Pearl. There’s a couple small tables to sit down at after you order and they’re very fast and your order comes in about 5min. DRAGONBOWL($ 9.50): Perfect healthy meal! It’s a meal that you can feel good about eating. Mine came with quinoa, steamed kale, sea vegetables, kimchi, beans, sesame seeds, hemp seeds, and sliced avocado with a nice serving of lemon ginger dressing. The flavors together were amazing and I think lemon ginger was the right choice to keep the meal refreshing. I was expecting Korean kimchi which would make the dish a bit spicy but instead it was just picked cabbage. Order this and you won’t regret it! BUDDHABOWL($ 9.50): My friend ordered this which came with quinoa, steamed kale, roasted yukon gold & sweet potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower and kimchi with peanut sauce. I personally preferred mine but this was good too.

The Utopian Dream Pasta was sold out so I got the Shiva Salad instead and Iced Ginger Lemonade. I’m not a big ginger fan but I appreciated that it wasn’t too(artificially) sweet and you really got a kick from that fresh ginger. I loved the salad. I didn’t miss the meat at all. Overall, delicious, guilt –free eats!

This place is an absolute GEM! I went 3xs in 4 days on my trip to Portland. It’s completely vegan + gluten free and completely DELICIOUS! Started with a green juice — they have tons of made to order fresh juices. They serve fantastic veggie bowls with whole grains, beans, fresh vegetables, and plant-based dressing. Had the chili bowl which completely exceeded my expectations. It was delicious and super flavorful with spicy black bean chili, quinoa, sautéed kale, a delicious cashew-based sauce and a generous serving of avocado. It was the perfect lunch. Came back for a smoothie — they have tons of fresh flavored, and optional add-ins to customize your own. The service is great. You order at the bar, then find a seat in their charming and quiet café, which shares space with a great yoga studio. Each time I ordered I got my food in a matter of minutes. So happy to have found this place. If I was a local I would definitely become a regular. The relaxed vibe is perfect for sitting back with a good book and peacefully enjoying excellent, healthy, flavorful food!

If you’ve seen the raw diet farting episode of Portlandia, then you already know about Prasad. Pretty sure the episode is based on their earthy menu of raw veggie bowls and fresh-pressed juices. Since I’ve got no problem with«cleansing my system», Prasad was the perfect antidote to a weekend of over-indulgence in Portland. You feel healthier just stepping inside and feeling the good vibes. It’s located inside Yoga Pearl, but has a substantial area that feels like it’s own little café. You order at the counter, then grab a seat in the light-filled dining area with communal tables, bar seats, and little 2-tops. The virtuous menu features mostly healthy«bowls» with brown rice, quinoa, tons of steamed veggies and vegan sauces. They are DELISH. Even my stubborn carnivore husband happily scarfed down every last bite. There’s also local kombucha, green juices, tea, and vegan desserts on offer. For $ 8 – 12 you can fill yourself with health and make up for all the donuts, fried chicken and martinis you’ll likely consume the rest of the time in Portland(if you’ve got restraint as weak as mine). After a class at Yoga Pearl, or after one too many toxins, Prasad is the perfect way to stay on the healthy train… or hop on it for a few hours. THANKYOU Prasad for making good-for-you taste so darn good.

Downtowns mix of tourist trap high calorie slop finds reprieve in this peaceful yoga studio counter café with its big windows, small wood tables, clean vegan bowls and swift expedient service. I chose the dragon bowl $ 10 with black quinoa, kale, a whole fresh avocado on top and two sauces, carrot habanero and green chili. Ingredients were fresh and well prepared highlighting their good simplicity. Often you can sense the mood of the chef through a dishes taste, and in this case it was a serendipitous whole joy without lies. This is the way Americans should eat more frequently — vegetables with healthy fat and grains. No fillers here. The dining room was a nutty mix of knowingly perfect pretty young women, quirky Portland seniors, and brutish muscle men. Everyone will allow you to nutrient up in peace, as the realistically happy plump rock a billy babe cashier commented after my payment«enjoy your health.» The café sits in and feels like a lobby, which it is, so it has a transitory temporary feel, where well manicured ladies will be waiting around with yoga matts for their next session.
