Friendly staff and understanding! The VT took time to help me understand the procedure being done to my pup step by step & the proper at home after-​care information! I am very glad I was able to find such an amazing Veterinary center in Portland!

This place is really great! I came here today for the first time because my dog had an eye infection. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and I felt like the DVM was very thorough in his assessment and treatment. Best vet I’ve been to!

After more than 17 years of loyalty to the excellent staff at Rose City vet (we used to live a few blocks from there but have now lived in Westmoreland-​Sellwood for many years) I decided to try the new vet that moved in down the street…
First I took my [super healthy] four year old German Pinscher to Powell Vet last month for his annual exam and was pleased enough to bring in our [nearly] eleven year old blue Doberman last week. Lola gets the full senior panel twice a year and both dogs get titer tested for their vaccines (we’ve been able to avoid re-​vaccinating for almost everything for many years as a result). I was really impressed with how familiar Dr Welker was with Lola’s health history during the exam (I’d had our records transferred in advance).
I was very happy with all the services provided and my pups were at ease with the staff who all treated both of my babies like special guests. I didn’t compare prices, but they seemed in line with what I’m used to. All of the test result were clearly explained to me along with a plan to follow up on Lola’s slightly elevated liver levels.
We’ll definitely be back and feel confident recommending this clinic to others.

We (AB + one small, furry roommate) are so happy to have a second outpost of this awesome veterinary practice a little closer to home! Longtime patient (s) of Powell Vet’s original location at SE 39^th and Powell, we have always received top-​notch care from every staff member and excellent follow up. Now, we get the same great service in a shiny new office, with familiar faces.
Located in Sellwood/​Westmoreland, the office itself is pretty straightforward, with an open lobby, retail (food, toys) off to one side, and a private parking lot.
After many years of taking my own animals and foster cats to the original location, I have not one negative experience to report and again must mention the follow up is great: they always call to check in, even after a minor incident/​visit. I really appreciate that. Billing/​checkout is always a snap, too.
