I love my pizza. I have a preference for thicker, doughier crust. I am from central ny and that’s just what I have grown to love. They do have a thin crust option but I didn’t try that. I found their crust and toppings DELICIOUS!!! One of the best pizzas I have ever had. Seriously! We also ordered the breadsticks without cheese or any toppings and loved them too. It was basically just cooked dough and it was very tasty. Highly recommend this place!!!

Good atmosphere even with younger kids. Pizza is good and nice variety. Definitely not your standard pizza. Have not had a bad dish there and we’ve tried a couple different pizzas and sandwiches. Nice local beer selection. Really liked the side salad, which included broccoli and mushrooms.

I hate doing the one star review but I reached out to this business to tell them how disappointed I was with their delivery. The pizza was to come with greens on it and it didn’t come at all. On the side would be nice but nothing at all. And the pizza was stone cold. Not warm, really cold. I reached out to this place and used their online comment section just to let them know of my experience. I wasn’t looking for a refund or anything, just their acknowledgment of this event. Nothing. Having been in the service industry for many years I get it. Things can go wrong but own up. Also driver couldn’t stop telling me how bad his life was. Weird…

They burnt my pizza multiple times for take out. The last time I ordered I checked the pizza before leaving and it was burnt again. When I told the guy I did not want burnt pizza, he said if I picked off the burnt parts it should be fine underneath. Really! $ 25 for burnt pizza that you have to remove the expensive toppings to eat?

Having just checked in to a nearby hotel after a long red-eye flight, we were starving and looking for a quick bite to eat. Walked over to this place and it was nearly empty at around 2pm on a weekday. Was promptly greeted by a friendly hostess who also happened to be our waitress. She explained their dough options and pointed out their specials. We were able to order two types of pizza in one — the Nor’Eastern for one half and the Monhegan on the other. Both were super delicious and the beer dough was great too! Friendly service, craft beers, and good eats — definitely worth a try if your in town!

I used to really like portland pie. I always ate in the restaurant, it was a treat. Having grown up in rural maine, delivery was out of the question. When I moved to Portland I was so excited to get portland pie delivered to my door! The thought of staying in my pj’s and having someone deliver deliciousness to my door was amazing… little things make me happy. What doesn’t make me happy is having a cold pizza the first time, a pizza that looked like it was dropped because all the toppings were on the pizza box not the pizza, the wrong pizza another time… yes I tried it many times and honestly I can’t remember a time I have been happy. Sorry portland pie but I guess I will have to put pants on to enjoy your pizza.

I ordered the s’mores pie tonight and received a charred mess. It was completely burnt and inedible. So disappointing. I don’t know how anyone thought it was ok to give to a costumer.

Placed a delivery order and was told half hour-45 minutes. So it was a little over an hour later and we hadn’t received our food yet. I called and the person I talked to was very apologetic and said the pizza was on them and that they were on the way. 5 minutes later they called back again and said they are sending the pizza and a gift card. The delivery guy showed up with our pizza, a gift card and complimentary drinks. Very impressed with the customer service not once were we upset about what happened but they made sure to take care of their customer. We are close by to the York street location so we are going to stop in more often being impressed with the service and I never have a complaint about the pizza! Yum!

Wow! Our second visit on this vacation to Portland. We were lucky enough to get the same server twice, Calli, and she was great. She even remembered us. On this visit we got the stuffed meatballs and a 14″ THIN garlic crust Bar Harbor pizza. The meatballs were good but the pizza was really good. Loved the creamy Alfredo, crispy bacon, and perfect crust. I’m taking note to order this again. We love Portland Pie and eat here each time we visit Portland. Looking forward to our next visit.

This is the best place in Portland to get pizza, great food and atmosphere. The staff there are very friendly and are always pleasant to talk with. Also has a real hometown feel when you walk in and they know your name there.

I agree with a previous reviewer. The guy who answered was a total dick. The food is decent, but I had forgotten the name of the salad I wanted when I called in, so I started naming the ingredients in the hopes that the guy could help me out. He didn’t respond for a solid 30 seconds and then said he had no idea what I was talking about. Then I found the name and he said they were out of the salad. Just plain rude.

I love your pizza, but you need to hire a guy to answer the phones that’s perhaps a little less of a dick. I’ve never had anyone talk to me like I’m an idiot, he could’ve started off the call with«we’ve got a new computer system and I need to re-enter your info» but instead I get talked to like I’m 12 and then made to feel like I’m the one with the issue. It’s too bad because I had been a regular and loyal customer for a long time.

I love the pizza at Portland Pie. The first time I went to the Scarborough location. The pizza was fabulous but the service was terrible. My husband and I decided to go to the Portland location the other day and we were very impressed. This location of Portland Pie is excellent. We were seated quickly, the service was friendly, and food arrived promptly. I ordered the Merrimack river pizza, which was basically a margherita pizza. It was so flavorful and delicious. Their pizza sauce is so good. It’s a nice blend of sweet and spice. I ordered the basil crust, and while it did have a small hint of basil, it wasn’t as basil-y as I would have hoped. My husband ordered a pizza w/the garlic crust and he couldn’t really taste the garlic either. But besides that, we were extremely pleased. Parking is on street and luckily since it was a quieter evening, parking was easy to find. We will definitely be back.

Overpriced and Overcooked. Looks like microwave pizza, plain tasting. There was a bite taken out of one slice. And locals told us this was the place to go. Hahahahaha. Yeah. Not exactly.

I still love Portland Pie’s pizza, but today I ordered the meatball appetizer. And to my shock and dismay, I received three meatballs for $ 9.99… yes, you read that right, three meatballs for $ 9.99. Add to that, one was burned so badly that only 2⁄3 were edible. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on my wallet!

I came here on my most recent trip to Portland. I chose this place purely for the fact that it was very close and the rest of my family was ready to kill each other due to low blood sugar. We showed expecting nothing special, but this place was amazing and I will come back the next time I’m in Portland. The pizza here is crazy good, and I really like the beer crust. We ordered the Moosehead and Dead River pies. They were f#$*ing amazing! Even my picky sister ate the Dead River, and I’ve never seen here eat anything other than plain cheese pizza. The ingredients tasted fresh, especially the Red sauce. I also liked that they offered a flight of local Maine beers, because at the time we only got Sea Dog Blueberry in Texas. Waitstaff was very friendly and inviting. Overall, I can’t recommend this place enough!

We’re spoiled for«fancy» Pizza in Portland honestly. Bonobo, Otto, etc. Portland Pie is another solid option, and on top of the pizza sports perhaps the largest«other» menu of the bunch. Sandwiches, salads, apps, calzones, etc. My husband went with fish tacos off the app menu and pronounced them«meh,» so maybe skip that. However, I could certainly see coming here with a group where not everyone is ready to ride the pizza train. I found my pizza a little too greasy with tomatoes had that under-ripe, pale look, in this hood I’d much sooner choose Bonobo for topping excellence. Put the big wine and beer menu and lots of gluten free/vegetarian options in the«pro» column and Portland Pie Company comes out at a solid 3 stars.

I’m not sure why we keep returning to various portland pie locations, to be honest: I’m pretty irritated. Today, Sunday, my boyfriend and I walked into PP downtown. It’s a beautiful day to eat downtown, however we usually local the Scarborough location. Our last visit there was not great and we have since decided yet are a takeout only location for us. We still live the food, so we decided to hit downtown for a sit down pizza binge. We’re both training for big events and wanted a badass cheat meal. We waited at the door for a few minutes before we were seated. The place is EMPTY. Around us in this section/the dining room are two dirty tables. One large(8-top?)and one smaller 4-top. We waited for over 20 minutes before the bartender saw us waiting and sent a server. We would have left and were about to, but we both did fasted cardio today and needed to NOT walk all over before eating. We put in our entire order at once: drinks, apps, and entrees, and then will probably just get the check and some boxes immediately, and take off once they are out. I need to know: What is the service trend with all the PP locations? Why is this even a thing? As a server working in fine dining and everything down to diner breakfast for the last ten years, I would never let that happen. It’s your reputation! I’m really disappointed. We love PP for so many reasons but won’t be frequenting anymore. The food is amazing, the management clearly has other ideas about priority. We’ll be sticking to takeout and subpar pizza at Otto from now on.

I’m not even hungry right now but I’m thinking about Portland Pie Company’s pizza with artichokes and kalamata olives on a gluten free crust for dinner. If I get one, it will be the third time in eight days. When I brought the first one home, my boyfriend, who isn’t wild about olives or artichokes and had ordered chinese food for himself, couldn’t resist a slice and then snagged a second. A few days later I had lunch plans with a friend and asked if she wouldn’t mind pizza, because I wanted another one! Luckily, she obliged and we dined in. The second pizza was just as good as the first! I’ve had other pizzas from there but something about the artichoke and olive toppings are kind of magical, I think. Sauce and cheese is also delicious. Their gluten free crust is the best I’ve had so far. Table service was friendly and efficient. When the bill came, I got a «Frequent Pie-er» rewards card. I think I’ll be using it pretty soon, and pretty often!

On one of our early days in Portland, the hubby and I explored our little city on foot and were so delighted to stumble on Portland Pie Company. The husband was so excited, he LOVES pie– its probably his favorite food. But right when we opened the door, we realized our mistake. The delicious smell of cheese, garlic, tomatoes and crust wafted out at us. At first we were slightly disappointed that we’d gotten it so wrong, but made a mental note to try it sometime because– lets face it– you can never have too much pizza. So we brought the parents back on their first visit up from Boston. Of course we couldn’t agree on one or two to share, so we got three pizzas. Solid choice! The sampling was amazing. I’m a more traditional girl. The Moosehead and the Old Port on the beer dough satiate my pizza palate. We also tried the Harbormaster on Garlic Dough and the Mt Katahdin on wheat. Everybody left full, happy and with leftovers for lunch the next day. I was so pleased when I started working at my current company to find that PPC is their pizza of choice in the café, though I must admit, its not quite as good after sitting under heat lamps for an hour. Even though we have relocated off of the peninsula, we still order from PPC. Sure, it takes like 45 minutes and the pizza is a bit pricey, but it always arrives piping hot and the delivery person is so friendly and even brought us our dinner in a crazy snowstorm once. He’s also very good with my crazy mutt and always asks to pet him. The way to my heart isn’t only through my stomach– but also by being nice to my dog. You win PPC.
