Polliwog

Love at first sight! Polliwog has everything cute/​unique and not everything is pricey. I came here to find a gift for my 5 year old cousin and went with the honey bee lunch bag. The store itself is very organized and beautifully arranged. They are well stocked on everything from clothes and accessories to books, toys, and stuffed animals, etc. They even have Totoro items!!! What a fantastic surprise! Anyway, come check this place out for all your gift finding needs or just something cute for yourself… I won’t judge ;)

I stopped in to buy a baby gift for my niece. I settled on a cute outfit that was organic cotton and made in America. Awesome find and very glad to have that choice, prices are in line with quality. Would have liked more made in America and organic choices. Store clerk was nice, I like the focus on high quality and natural items and will definitely stop in again.

I love this store. It very much reminds me of one of my favorite stores in Chicago. They have really cute, unique clothes, quality toys, tons of accessories (think cute pens, erasers, hair clips) and just the right amount of books. I do think its geared toward the younger kiddo/​baby, but that’s fine with me because I’m usually going here to find the special present for the wee beasties.
They will wrap your gift up too in lively green paper and raffia ribbon. I’m usually excited about this because wrapping is an additional step cost I’d rather just put to the present. I end up spending a good half hour trying to find the right gift, and I can feel good that I’m going to get something cute/​unique and local.

I love this store! This was the only store where I could find adorable clothes for my son so he didn’t have to wear clothes with trucks on them all the time! Now I get to shop here for my daughter and I’ve never been surrounded by so my beautiful dresses! I only wish they carried more clothes for 8 – 10 yr old boys.

I’m not a parent, but a proud uncle as of recent. I am very happy and proud to have a store of this caliber here in Portland. Why? Read on.
This store has a great product mix of goods fitting developmental ages from birth into grade school. They also have healthful, ethical and responsible choices with greener materials and sustainable sourcing. Soft, plushy animals made without added chemicals. Cards printed on recycled papers and with green inks.
It’s pretty much everything you’d think of an excellent children’s store having when it’s born out of Portland. The owner are very nice, friendly, and have great taste in goods. If you don’t believe me, check out the store, and have a conversation with them yourself.
Being a designer and producer of my own products as well, I’d have to say the price range is exaggerated on the overall review, and would assert most of the items as inexpensive to moderate. I’ve also noticed they are fairly priced at great value, so I would recommend them both as a producer and as a consumer.

This shop is really cute when I was pregnant I would come here all the time and buy things for my baby they have very unique cool clothes and baby accessories I bought a set of bamboo fabric blankets that I could not live without my daughter has to have one to sleep! I have had to return one thing because it tore after only one wear and the woman owner was very gracious about it.
Negative aspect is the clothes are sooo cute but never stocked up properly they will go weeks with hardly any sizes also they are super expensive the mark up is average but Ive gone down the street to another baby store and seen the same clothes for 2 bucks less.
They should have some moderately priced items for those who dont want to spend 50 bucks on an outfit that will be worn for a month and try to keep the clothing stocked consistently
Another positive is the bathroom saved me a few times from changing my babe in the car!

I stopped by Polliwog this morning to pick up a baby shower gift. I was impressed with their collection of adorable baby clothes and spent quite a while deciding what to buy. I thought the staff was nice — polite without being pushy.
The merchandise was a little expensive… but it’s worth splurging for a great, one-​of-​a-​kind gift!

This store and black wagon are the only Portland baby stores worth a visit.
The sales people are friendly and their merchandise is unique.
They only sell new clothes.
I buy something every time I stop in!

Such a great store. Everything in here is darling and the owners are really really nice. Every time I come in they make my daughter and myself feel welcome. The only reason I don’t give out 5 stars is that many items are pretty pricey. If you have the money and want your kids to be the best dressed in town, come here. You won’t be disappointed.

This is where I head every time I am seek a practical and/​or stylish gift for the kids in my life. Amazing selection, knowledgeable and friendly service and high-​quality merchandise.

I have driven by this store for years and always wanted to check it out. Well, I finally did and it’s great! My favorite part about this store is the wonderful, organic baby clothes. In particular, they have the cutest baby t-​shirts you have ever seen. I was also really happy to see that there is a large selection of boys clothes. I feel like most shops are 90% girl clothes. This would be a fantastic place to buy a really unique shower gift that any hip mama would love. They also have a great selection of kid’s music here, like lullaby renditions of Journey songs. :-) I also found the sales help to be friendly and not pushy (my favorite combo)

I love this store! I’m expecting and I was so excited when I found this little gem; they had so many things I had been looking for. My husband, who hates shopping and usually pouts, enjoyed himself by playing with some of the toys and checking out the cool baby clothes.
The gentleman working seemed friendly and helpful, not at all pushy.
Can’t wait to go back!

Polliwog is an adorable local store with stuff that runs the gamut. You can find things for pregnant women, nursing moms, infants, and children. They have a lot of whimsical things like dress-​up clothes and toys, too. I don’t know why someone said they had a problem with the sales people, I found them to be extremely helpful and friendly. By the time I left we were chatting like old friends. I will definitely be back to enjoy this neighborhood jewel!

They have really cute kids toys and clothes here. It’s a little on the pricey side, but I would pay extra for awesome unique stuff like this.
I especially liked some of the adorable baby hats, leggings, and pjs.
If I was a baby, I would shop here.

walking into Polliwog is like a dream for me… all of the color and whimsey and cool product gets my juices flowing!!! It is, if I had my own, just as I would design a kid boutique such as this one.
That being said, I have mixed experiences with the service. Somedays I get friendly and welcoming, other days cold silence. I guess everyone has their off days.

I love the merchandise in this store. What I don’t like is the attitude of the salespeople.
I have gone back 3 times, and made a purchase each time. Not even giving these people my money will get them to treat me with anything resembling courtesy.
Again, they have great stuff here so if you’re willing to be treated like crap in exchange for cool kids junk, this place is for you.
(I, however, won’t be going back for a 4^th serving of rude, thank you very much.)

Portland is full of hip, adorable, young families. And of course, their kids look just as hip as the parents.
Do they all shop at Polliwog, I wonder? Is that the secret?
The clothes here are cute, hip, locally made, sometimes recycled, and everything else Portland. They have toys here that you could apply a similar string of adjectives too.
This is a great place to buy gifts for a little one.
