My favorite place to get pizza. I love that his topping choices change seasonally and that you can find different topping options for your pizza that you can’t find most places like kale and zucchini even though most of the time I go classic with mushrooms, pepperoni and red onion. The sourdough crust is amazing. Get pizza to take home or hang out at the bar next door and have your pizza brought over… yummm.

Many«new» fads regarding good ol pizza abound and they often involve resurrecting something from the past or transplanting/interpreting styles from elsewhere… Neapolitan style, Sicilian style, NYC style, Chi-town style, thin crust, wood fired and etc. If you seek slices or pies that pack all the flavor and satisfaction of much more expensive establishments yet you want to pay street vendor prices, Pizza C’s is the spot. Located in the parking lot of the Fixin’ To on the corner of Lombard & Richmond in St. Johns, most evenings you can find the man himself or an employee hand crafting every pie from dough to ingredients. When a product sold at street level availability & pricing exceeds it’s expensive competition in both quality and originality, I call that value for the people…

I love love their pizza and the only reason I give them 4 stars is because they sometimes run out of d me toppings but then that means that people love them as much as I do and that’s good for them more business means they stay around. A must try if you haven’t already!

Best pizza in st.johns. Just make sure you double the time they tell you and then add 10 minutes. Well worth the wait but it would be cool if they knew how to tell time

This is the best pizza in St. Johns. There are four pizza places here — too many for a tiny neighborhood really, so why does a food cart win? Well, the sourdough crust, for one thing. It’s always perfect. I’ve had it too burnt and not burnt at all, and either way, it’s magically wonderful. The sauce has some spice to it, just the right amount — it’s not just slopped on, it’s considered. The cheese. He’s often got some interesting choices to pick from — goat cheese, etc. — and there’s not too much, not too little. And the toppings. Well, sometimes they’re the greatest thing ever — spicy meats, unlikely greens, that sort of thing. Other times, it feels like you’ve got to pick from a bunch of neglected vegetables from the bottom of the crisper and are going to end up with a disappointing pie. The cash only policy and awkward hours of operation can be a bummer. I can’t really knock a star off because they won’t deliver, although if they did, this would be a five star review for sure. We’re lucky to live near such a good pie all in all — on a cold rainy Portland night, this pie is just the thing.

I’m not saying anything new here, but holy crap, is this pizza good. We got chef’s choice tonight and it was pepperoni, green apple, green olive, and goat cheese. It was out of this world. And the crust is superb. Only docking a star for extremely long wait, being cash only, and being at the fixing to, which I personally can’t stand. But this pizza is freaking delicious.

Went by one pizza place; closed. second pizza place, closed. Ended up at The Fixin To and found Pizza! I got the pepperoni slice planning to pick them off to plain cheese, but they were really good. Not greasy or chewy. Crust was excellent– thinner but both crunchy and chewy. Light, high quality cheese, and you can get extra parmesan on top. There’s simple and exotic choices, and you can bring it inside the bar with you.

I was really excited to come here after reading all the wonderful reviews, so decided to make an outting up to St. John’s for pizza and a movie. According to the website, he is open at six, but like another review mentions, he was not actually ready at that time. In fact, his softball game ran late so it was actually going to be another 45 minutes or so. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to wait because I would have been late for the movie. He seemed like a real friendly guy and the pizza sounds great, so I hope he gets it a little more together.

I cook, but since I don’t have a stand mixer or a 600 °F oven, pizza is something I will order out. You know the feeling when you pass a food cart and it calls to you? Pizza Contadino called to me for months, and I finally answered the call. It is by far the best pizza I have had in Portland. I ate most of a pepperoni and sopressata pie for dinner last night, and as soon as I woke up this morning I had the last two pieces before my coffee. Hell yes.

Pizza pretty good. Even great! I don’t carry cash. I live a block away and would order from them way more, I would recommended them way more if they made the simple gesture of making it convenient. The whole world offers the option of paying with your ATM card or Credit Card, except… this one pizza joint. I’m pretty sure there’s a reason and maybe it’s some sort of arrogance, or maybe a political stance? Probably one of which I’d agree, screw«the system». But I’m selfish and just want to order a pizza when I don’t feel like cooking and not have to go to the bank to withdraw cash for the privilege. If you make enough money, to not have to cater to the non-cash carriers, all the power to you, well done my friend. You should sell your business plan and I’m not being a jerk, I’m serious! Maybe Square? It’s cheap for you? I like you! Ok, I want to order, please?

Yes! Delicious! I got a full pie with my friends. The crust was superb, and we chose all sorts of excellent veggie toppings. I usually hate eating all the cheese and everything on the pizza because I am a picky jerk but this was perfect as it came. This place is definitely going places.

I really hate writing this review, I always hear great things about the pizza but I just cant give them the 5 stars I would give because the poor guy is a hot mess. We tried to eat here three times before successfully bringing a pizza home to eat. There hours say they open at 5, however that doesn’t mean you can get a slice at 5 or that he is totally ready to start making pizza at 5. That means he showed up at 5 to start his food prep. Since we were ordering a whole pie he was able to take our order and we can go in to the fixin to, to grab a drink while we waited but I watched him turn away people who just wanted a slice because he hadn’t prepared all his toppings and what not yet. The pizza itself was pretty awesome, I hope this guy gets it together because he definetly has something good going on here. Also he only takes cash.

I moved to St. John’s almost 2 years ago and every time I consulted Unilocal for a good pizza place or local joint, Pizza Contadino popped. Imagine my disappointment when I realized that this highly rated cart wasn’t a consistent fixture in the St. John’s community. Well, it seems that Pizza Contadino has found a home in the parking lot of the Fixin’ To. Talk about a match made in heaven– my favorite neighborhood bar with a stellar pizza place! HEAVEN(and possibly dangerous). My boyfriend and I headed out last Friday in search of dinner and drinks to welcome in the weekend. Imagine our surprise and delight to smell the amazing aroma coming from Pizza Contadino’s cart. We immediately walked over and placed our order. Every pizza is custom made with fresh ingredients. For $ 20 we had a pizza with cheese, Italian sausage, chard, and zucchini that had a great crust and zesty sauce. The crust was charred in parts and chewy in others, great by my standards. So next time you are in St. John’s, swing by the Fixin’ To for a drink and stick around for a made-to-order pizza at Pizza Contadino.

This is a review by a vegetarian Oh, this place is so close. The pie I had was a bit overdone and was too redolent of oregano. But damn, the crust is fine and everything is so aligned. it’s just short of 5 star pantheon pizza. If it’d got that cook time right it’d easily blow past pyro and depokos in quality and value. Toppings seem to vary per day and are listed when you call to order pick-up. Not really any good place to park to do that pick-up though
