Very close to the hotel we stayed at. We came back late and needed to find a place to eat and ended up here. Both bartenders were very friendly and funny. We both got burgers and an order of macaroni. Burgers were great macaroni was flavorless and probably about 9oz for what I believe was $ 14. I loved that they had a drink menu, as I never know what to drink/order. We planned on coming back for a few drinks but our shopping took a little too long so we decided to stop by buffalo wild wings instead: P

This has become my favorite place to eat in Portland. Everything I have ordered has been delicious! The service is great and so is the atmosphere.

Has been me of my favorite spots for the past few years to grab a burger and beer. Stopped in this afternoon and grabbed a booth. Sat for over 10 minutes and no even said hello, no menus, waters, etc. Got up and left and no even bothered to acknowledge I was ever there. Very disappointing. It was not crowned. No excuse to not at least say hi and bring menus.

Order extra tartar and malt vinegar up front y’all. You’re going to need it to get through the not so crispy fish and chips. Today’s rendition of the usually tart and belly warming fish and chips sort of plate left me with a «cold fish» sort of feeling. Don’t count on the less than inspiring coleslaw to take up the slack either. Check your glass for lipstick leftovers before taking a swig of water too. Even my Long Island ice tea tasted like a Coke, not a Long Island ice tea. All around disappointing trip to a usually«got it together place.» Service was efficient enough. Hence 2 stars.

I’ve been coming to Paddy’s for years now and am sorry to say this is the first time I’ve written a review for them. First off, the staff are the most knowledgable and professional people I’ve encountered in the service industry. The second thing is the selection of alcohol available. I love the wall. I love messing with the bartender and getting him to climb to the top for my drink. Usually they already have what I need, but it is cool to see that much alcohol. The food is always great and very quick to make it to my table. My only complaint is if you go during the height of peak hours it is hard to find a spot to sit down, but I suppose if you’re business is often packed you must be doing something right.

If you advertise you are going to show sporting events both on your website and in the bar on posters, you should have them on TV as promised. When customers show up to watch them, you should buy the game, instead of saying«sorry we don’t want to pay the $$ to order it.» Next time I’ll just start at your competitor down the street.

This would be an okay after work hh bar if the service wasn’t so damn terrible. The staff seems annoyed to be taking your order, drinks take forever and cashing out can be a painful process. We called ahead and reserved a space for a larger group for a goodbye party. I placed an order for 3 items and checked in with the server at the 30 min mark. We’re talking nachos, poutine and kale dip… nothing that actually requires long cook time. The server said it should be right out. 30 mins later there was still no food. I checked in with the server again and she then realized that she forgot to put in the order. We received our food 10 mins later but it was still on the bill when we went to cash out. They could have easily acknowledged the mistake and taken the items off the bill in an attempt to rectify the situation. Bottom line=terrible customer service. Everyone has a bad day and we all forget things but your customers should not have to pay for your mistakes. I definitely won’t be back.

Very fun place to grab a drink, especially if you aren’t in a hurry! BESTMOSCOWMULE! We definitely had a bit of time to sit and have a drink and hang out. The service was pretty ridiculously slow, we were alright to enjoy each other’s company, so definitely don’t come here when you are on a time frame. I love the décor and the feel of the restaurant, I would love to come back for a meal and try some of their library of drinks.

Terribly slow bartenders who are too busy to make eye contact. I had to practically throw my empty glass at him to get a fresh beer. Scotch egg was yummy. Bitchy wait staff that dont pay attention to details like… silverware. the black haired bartender was sloppy, spilling beer and Jameson whiskey specifically into the ice. Tries to be slick but is just too rushed-Coming from a 20+ year bartender. The only reason I stopped here is bad beer at MFNW so at least Paddys has a decent draft menu.

Iced coffees were the bomb! Avoid the tables at all cost and go straight to the bar. The bartenders are awesome and incredible attentive. The table service is terrible. We were neglected for a half an hour before we wished up and decided to sit at the bar and got immediate assistance and greetings. Literally polar opposites. I ordered the Irish Coffee over ice. Rich, creamy and flavorful. Nice pick me up to finish a Portland night out. Guinness was poured perfectly, chilled right with the perfect amount of foam frothiness at the top. The girls should take a lesson from the bartenders in service, charm and restaraunt etiquette.

Really surprised to read all the negative reviews about service, Paddys has been a go-to bar for years. The bartenders are fantastic. Chino, Phil, Luke, Emmy… have never welcomed me with less than a smile and stiff drink. Admittedly, this is my late night bar and I can’t speak to the after work experience, but they stay open until 2am daily, show every game, are right on the MAX line, and have a late night happy hour served right up until 2am. They don’t even bitch at you for showing up at 1:45 with four drunk friends and ordering six plates of nachos. Besides the service, they have a beautiful mirrored wall of liquor that the bartenders climb a rolling ladder to reach. Solid whiskey and gin selection — Phil makes my favorite Boulevardier in the city. Pro Tip: Save your high-ladder orders for the ladies, they look much better from this angle than the gents Honestly, it’s downtown Portland. I dare you to go up the Street to Yamhill Pub or Rockbottom and then complain about ANYTHING at Paddy’s.

Mediocre food, loud environment, and they don’t validate SmartPark tickets. Ordered the roasted pork loin on the recommendation of the waitress to learn that they were out, to then learn that they do have it. When it arrived, it was only broccoli and pork; no pineapple, herb crust or Yukon Gold potatoes. After asking, they did bring out mashed potatoes, but the dish was certainly not as advertised. Very underwhelming at best. Icing on the cake was that they don’t validate parking tickets. 375 companies in the area do, but not Paddy’s! On a positive note, the Wi-Fi was fast, very helpful in writing this review!

Beer is excellent so are the onion rings! Ambiance is good pub, service was very slow but very sweet her fist night… Food honestly was just good but could easily be better. My salmon was a tad dry and the flavor was not as advertised. Same for hubby with his lamb

Come during happy hour. They have some beers and specialty drinks that are pretty cheap. The place can get pretty packed though but there’s also outdoor seating for when the weathers nice. Servers are miss and hit. I’ve had good ones and others that have completely ignored me. The food is ok and the it’s near the waterfront so if you get too toasted to drive, take a walk and relax by the water.

Not a big fan of places that allow smoking on the patio. People that don’t smoke also like to sit outside so that is the lost star. While we didn’t eat, I ordered the Curty’s Cucumber Julep with vodka added and it was delightful to sip while watching the people show walk by.

Loud. Loud. Loud. Loud The din of the patrons voice’s of a half-filled bar was horrible. I went on a Friday so I expected a certain amount of activity but the bar was not busy. I think it was the layout. There were sports on all the televisions but the sound was off and I had a very unfortunate table in that it took me about 30 minutes to determine the two basketball teams that were playing It was a very attractive and clean space. The massive bar area with all the tiers of alcohol was quite impressive. But, the bartender sucked. Ordered my usual rum and coke with lime, with the ice strained off and light on the coke. First one came with too much coke and no lime. Second one came with less coke, but less rum and a tiny slice of a lime. Successive orders(and yes, I should have stopped but I really wanted to have a good drink; I’m stubborn that way). In the end I ordered a shot and washed it down with one of my weak drinks. The shot had more alcohol than my cocktail. The service was spotty at first but I was waiting for a friend. That tends to lead to people ignoring you a bit. This was a tad more than a bit so when my friend came, the service got better. We went for happy hour and the food prices were quite good. The portions were proportional to the prices but still well sized. I had the garlic fries and the irish empanada. The garlic fries were cooked to perfection but the seasoning was on the light side and the herbs consisted of parsley. If there was something else, I couldn’t taste it. The colcannon was pretty tasteless as well even with the demi-glacé although the potatoes were real. The filling in the empanada just tasted of beef although it was lamb which was a little odd. My friend had the scotch egg and the reuben sliders. He said the scotch egg was a bit too overdone but liked the sliders. He had the Tullamore Dew and his normal IPA and was happy with his drinks. The place came off as a chain. Some of it was the cleanliness. I know, it’s a backhanded compliment because it’s important to me but it was just a little too sterile. The bathrooms were fancy and had the last cleaned by sign you see in fast food restaurants. It came across as contrived rather than conscientious. The waitresses uniforms were contrived and cheap looking. I felt it detracted greatly from the ambience. If I had to be in the area again, I might stop in for happy hour but I don’t think I’ll be back. I’d much rather go to the Moon and Sixpence and get the personal experience with better food and drinks.

Coming from Boston to Portland I was concerned about the loss of access to amazing Irish & English pubs. Paddy’s is one of very few Portland«Irish pubs» that would totally old it’s own when compared to Boston(The«old» Kell’s being the other). Excusing the heinously sexist waitress costumes(the Hooters outfit with plaid) the whole place is great. Good service. Well stalked bar. Actual British ales. Great outdoor seating, even if it is just on the street. Why not 5 stars? The horrible way the female staff are treated like meat vs humans. How is a mini-skirt at all reasonable for someone who has to scale a giant ladder in the middle of a crowded bar???

The food is terrible and the service is poor. I’m not going back to this place if I can help it. We ate most the menu as a group, and nothing was eaten more than a few bites. Bad burgers, bad Irish food, and bad pub snacks. The menu was also written poorly and names of items and their descriptions didn’t accurately reflect the dishes that we received. The server was in a bad mood and that affected our experience quite a bit. On the plus side: The bar itself is beautiful, the whiskey selection is okay, and they gave a big screen for soccer games. It’s a soccer bar that allows minors, so you can bring the kids. But, the food is terrible and I don’t know may kids who are capable of sitting in a restaurant without getting hungry, so you’re setting yourself up for a bad time.

This review is for late night(well, for ME anyway) bar service on a weeknight. On a rainy night in October, I was lucky to have my GPS as it’s been years since I hit the«Wall of booze» at Paddy’s. Dark and with few lights and I feared it was closed but I luckily found a parking spot right in front at the exact time the ELITES were scheduled to meet us, the proletariat and unwashed masses of the under 800 reviews set. I shared a few minutes with Tyler, the bartender and it did not require much effort to be the best customer(AND the only one) at the bar. Slow? I had to ask if they closed at 9… HUGEMISTAKE. And then it happened. The invasion. First a dozen Unilocalers(apparently already half in the bag) followed by several batches of other downtown denizens of the service industry sort… all a bunch of funsters and a couple of community managers. Luckily, Anna(some swagger) helped me out with names for a few familiar faces. I owe HER a double Ouzo. And speaking of liquor… now THIS is a liquor stash !! I tried, and succeeded to catch up with the Elites BAC with a couple large # 12s. MUCH dryer than Metaxa… and rarely found in Stumptown. Oh…Tyler…now doing triple duty. Fixin cocktails, beers of wide variety, and some kinda special whiskey Colonel Don seems to have taken a shine to. AND speaking of Bourbon on the rocks… Tyler always asks if you’d prefer ONEBIGROCK… a giant super cold ice cube that chills, but not dilutes your Kentucky sour mash. Great idea. And he does this while doing three other jobs at the same time. Great drinks, fast service, Pepper poppers that give me the hiccups… what else can you ask for? Just watch your change… those quarters just might be Jean Baptiste Charbonneau dollar coins, not quarters.(go ahead… BET me there is a U.S. Jean Baptiste Charbonneau coin) Not to worry, I mucked up his cash drawer too. Fun times… DOITAGAIN

Pretty good hh, the cocktail on special when I was there was an Irish Mule(YUM Ginger lime and whisky). Table also had kale dip which was tasty. Good atmosphere for mixed company, they play music and football was on the TV. HUGE liquor selection.
