As if they couldn’t get any worse…
I moved from my residence that used PP in August 2012 and provided them with the forwarding address that they should send my final bill to.
ONE YEAR LATER (two weeks ago) I receive an «Oops! We forgot to send you this bill» bill for $ 72. I toss it in the bill pile, to pay later, and go on with my life. TWO WEEKS LATER, I get a notice from a collection agency informing me this debt was given to them for collection!!!
Seems that, despite the fact that this was PP’s fault and were operating just find without the $ 72 for the last year, they suddenly decided that they really, really wanted that $ 72. And NOW.
Assholes. Seriously. I paid that shit immediately and when I did, the CSR told me I wasn’t the only on PP did this to, as she handled another annoyed caller earlier that day.
Unbelievable.

Not really sure what the point of reviewing the power company is… like we have a choice of power companies?
I’ve been a PGE customer for 25 years, no complaints… power is on all the time. PGE is owned by Scottish Power.
Just moved a couple of months ago and was surprised to discover that my power company is Pacific Power and Light (PPL), which is owned by Idaho Power. They were very nice on the phone getting my account set up, and they noted correctly that they are net metering the solar power that I’m generating. After I received my first bill, I was able to sign up for green power options, and we decided to go for the top shelf option which is 100% green power plus money for salmon habitat restoration. The guy on the phone was well informed and enthusiastic about the green power program. Lots of info on their web site. If you don’t sign up for green power, about 70% of it would come from coal generation.
