Am glad this place was closed! Years ago I was taken here for dinner on a trip. I found the food portion on others’ table was disgustingly HUGE. So I told the waiter that I would have nowhere to take leftover back to, could I have half portion… I even offered to pay the same price. But I was brutally refused with a scorn: «This is America. We have plenty of food! Don’t worry.» I remember the fat-pig attitude so well that I never go for the chain again. Total misrepresenting the word Bistro and the worst kind of junk food.

Nice server. That was it. Ordered margaritas in the sun, an apologetic house manager finally brought them 20″ later. My friend’s lunch arrived about 25−30″ before mine did. As we were going to ask for the check, mine came! The chili sauce tasted like PURE salt. Yuck. At least it was sunny. #P.F.ChangChinaDisaster.

This place has enough MSG in it to always cause me to feel a little ill after consumption. But I still keep coming back despite the emergency bathroom breaks. Why? It’s not some weird weight loss strategy but the fact that… voice drops to a whisper… I like the food… Yes the food is commercialized and not good for you but it’s so tasty. Yes, I love the lettuce wraps, the wonton soup, the twice fried noodles, the Mongolian beef. I will eat it all. They may not have locally sourced food and the quality may be a little lacking but it packs a punch with flavor. Apparently this place is super popular. I frequently see this place packed with large parties of people and the waiting extends out into the street. None of which I have the time or patience for when there are so many better options nearby. I suggest being 3 – 4 drinks in and rolling in and sitting at the bar. Weeds out the hoards of small children and service is faster. Even better if you can make it during happy hour and save yourself a few bucks. As much as I hate to admit it… I will be back.

PF Changs is on my all time favorite list. The staff always seems pleased to serve you and friendly as can be. There are so many choices and combos of food… and delicious every time! Some reviewers mentioned prices but I go at happy hour and eat well for cheap — they even sell wine by the half glass. Ive been to locations in several other cities too, and the staff, service and food are always on point.

PF Changs has a gluten free menu with a yummy dish — Phillip’s Better Lemon Chicken. It is the best item on their menu with stir-fried chicken breast and broccoli in a light fresh lemon sauce sans gluten! The minus two star rating is for when I ordered it for takeout last evening. The broccoli was cooked too long and it flavored the rest of the usually fresh lemon chicken in it. My suggestion would be to serve the broccoli in a side dish for takeout — I intend to order it that way next time. Also a note to the owners: I live close by and past the restaurant daily — suggest you have the cook staff and waiters smoke somewhere else than outside your delivery/staff entrance.

Don’t do the curb side service. I’ve been to many of the P.F. Changs restaurants on the west and east coasts. This one just completely screwed up. I don’t do curb side service much since I usually dine in but at a last minute, I thought I would pick up dinner for myself and friends. First of all, I should have realized there was trouble when the attendant came to my door and popped the bag of goods on the passenger seat and just handed me the order ticket without going through the bag and checking what was inside. This may sound completely stupid but once I got home, about 20 mintues later, there was no dang rice in the bag! Seriously? Isn’t that a basic from a Chinese restaurant? Long story short, I got home, called the restaurant and talked to the manager named Natalie. After being on hold for over 5 minutes, she said she was sorry and wanted to comp me my meal. I really wanted her to know that her waiters really need to check the order before they bring it to the car and it wouldn’t hurt to recheck it with the customer before they pull away. I’ve done curb side at other P.F. Changs locations here an in California. I gave her my address etc. but never received anything in the mail. It has been over a week and I know that the USPS is not the fastest in the world but given that I’m in the Portland area, it should take that long. After this disappointing experience, I’m not sure I would go back, especially not the curb side crap. It seemd convenient at the time but now wish I wouldn’t have done that and instead found a parking spot(big issue in downtown Portland) and gone and checked the meal before I paid and walked away. I regret leaving a good tip for the waiter who came curb side since he didn’t deserve it.

Meh. I guess my expectations were way too high. Everyone raves about PF Changs. Being pretty budget conscious, we don’t typically spend more than $ 20 on dinner, but opted to «treat» ourselves and were in the neighborhood so we checked it out. Hostess was pleasant, seated us right away. Didn’t mind that we had an infant in tow and even stashed the stroller for us. Waiter was pleasant and attentive. We ordered the lettuce wraps, vegetarian fried rice and sweet and sour pork. Lettuce wraps were pretty good. S&S Pork was alright, small quantity for the price, and the rice was wayyyy too salty. Tasted like they only used soy sauce to flavor it. We had some plain brown rice we used to try and cut the saltiness down with. Still too salty. We really wanted to like this place. But unfortunately we did not. And will probably not be back.

Average PH Chang’s… Nothing special… just like all the others. And when you think about it, consistency is a good thing. I don’t think I will go back since they have so many other Asian options in Portland, but it worked for me on this visit…

I love their Mongolian beef! Substitute the green onion to snap peas or green beans. The spicy green bean apetizer is to die for.

I have somehow never made it in to eat at P.F. Chang’s until today. The funny part is that I’ve seen them, parked near them, driven by them, just seemed like I was always on my way somewhere else in a hurry and that it would be a shame not to relax and enjoy a meal in a nice restaurant like this. Today, a couple of wonderful friends allowed me to choose where to eat lunch(their treat, wow, lovely), and since we were parked nearby(like I always have been in the past), I decided that it was time to eat at P.F. Chang’s. We decided to stay inside because it was just a touch too hot to sit outside and enjoyed the coolness of the darkened and very attractive interior. Our server was very nice and gave us plenty to peruse the detailed menu. I ordered a glass of iced tea. Because she only had a partial amount of tea for my glass, she gave me that glass for free and brewed me a completely new glass. Ahh, a perfect day for two glasses of iced tea. My friends ordered a couple of the chicken dishes, and I had the dim sum lunch, which was the perfect amount of food, and it came with a salad with lime vinegarette. The several pieces of dim sum were perfectly steamed and seasoned, and the dipping sauce was delicious. My friends enjoyed their dishes as well. I definitely would return to eat here(or any other P.F. Chang’s) and bring friends and family along as well.

We stopped in for some lunch. The soup alone could have made a wonderful meal, but everything was wonderful! Reasonable prices, friendly waiters, and the artwork on the walls was beautiful.

I KNOWIT’S A CHAINRESTAURANTBUTIT’S JUSTSOGOOD! I love P.F. Changs. When many of the options for American Chinese Food feature cheap ingredients and questionable hygiene, P.F. Chang’s in NW Portland offers food that just tastes good. I also enjoy the drinks. I love the Bloody Mary and often sneak sips of my boyfriend’s Mojito. It is often busy, so make a reservation online!

This is a solid choice if you are looking for good-quality and healthy Chinese food. The prices are a touch high… The place can be really busy… The staff is super friendly and helpful… The food is decent and consistently prepared… All in all, a good choice.

I am a PF Changs fan. I have eaten at several locations all across the country. This one used to be my favorite, mainly because I recently moved here, but now it is super gross. The first few times we went, about a year ago, the food was great, the service was great and the atmosphere was great. All great so that’s great. The past two times that we have went(within the past two months) the food has just gone way down hill. We ordered the chicken lettuce wraps, one of my favorites, and what came was a mix of chicken and tofu. Um, ew. Especially if you don’t like tofu. I’m sure if you like tofu and ordered the vegetarian lettuce wraps that you wouldn’t want chicken mixed in yours. Then, the crispy honey chicken that I faithfully order has had fatty bites and actual BONES in them. Seriously?! The past two times that is how the chicken has been. I just can’t go back to my favorite restaurant. At least for quite awhile.

Places like this confirm my thoughts on why I steer clear of chain restaurants. PF Chang’s can be filed under, «Crappy Asian food portrayed by crappy American food». What’s that you can’t hear me because of the misguided«Top 40» music playing in the background. We let me spell it out for you. P. F’s is about as Asian as Olive Garden is Italian. The only positive is the server was really nice and attentive, but he somehow turn out to be a douche by not letting any of us know that gratuity was added into our bills.

Did I maybe want to try something different on my trip to Portland… probably yes, but nonetheless I was with 3 hungry women who just wanted some consistency and something fast. We had just beat the 5:00pm dinner rush on a Saturday evening and was seated in a very comfortable large booth for 4. Cocktails? Yes, please! Between the 4 of us, we all tried something different: red wine, hot sake, pear mojito, ginger mojito… and more. Consensus==love, keep ‘em coming! Next, food. I had not been to PF Chang’s in years so I was happy to see the«PF Chang’s for Two» for $ 39.95. We ordered two of these for 4 people. Yay! On our list of yummy food: — Lettuce Wraps: fresh, crispy lettuce with hot chicken. mmm!(see picture) — Crab Wontons: always a fan of these; great balance of cream cheese and crab(see picture) — Ginger Chicken with Brocolli: pretty standard, but everything tasted fresh(see picture) — Mongolian Beef: I love the green onions with this and the beef wasn’t too tough(see picture) — Black Sesame Chicken: «spicy is relative»(see picture) — Kung Pao Shrimp: «spicy is relative»(see picture) And the deal also comes with dessert for all! Loved the Tres Leche Lemon Dream dessert… so tart and a perfect ending(see picture). So now that I’ve raved over the surprisingly delicious food, now onto the service. If you are ever here, ask to be seated in Jessica’s area(I hope there aren’t multiple Jessica’s). She was absolutely amazing. She was attentive, conversational, and super sweet. She was so fun and sweet that we almost invited her out with us for the rest of the night! :) THANKYOU, Jessica! :)

I just wanted to add that recently I ordered my lunch online here, and the service was amazing. I had the lettuce wraps. Seriously, who is this genuinely friendly and peppy at noon! Bonus points for being able to order ahead online. I just popped in and headed back to my office with my lunch in tote.

Second experience at this chain«Chinese» restaurant. Not impressed. All the chicken dishes were made with breaded chicken. Most of these dishes are not breaded at more traditional Chinese restaurants. Not much taste. Overpriced for not so good food. Go anywhere else and get something closer to real«Chinese» food. Service was good for our group of eight. Food came out fast and hot

«Well», the authenticity Nazis sniff. «It’s not REAL Chinese food.» Are we in China? Then shut up. Or move there. Both are equally acceptable options. I super dig the PF Chang’s food. I’ve never had anything bad or unrecognizable, which is something that simply can’t be said about a more stringently Sino-compliant food experience. I’ve always sat at the bar so I really can’t gauge the table service. It’s corporate so I wouldn’t expect too much. Best of all, after you eat your chicken or noodles or whatever, you can have cheesecake. Beats the hell out of authenticity.

I received a gift card for this place last Christmas & wanted to use it before the end of the year! Now, I remember why I always opted to eat somewhere else instead of here. After ordering Dan Dan Noodles & asking for whole pieces of chicken instead of ground, the entire recipe for the dish changed. There weren’t any scallions, garlic or chili powder stir-fried with the chicken. Rather the dish came with handful of chicken pieces plopped on top of a thick, soy sauce flavored, bbq look-a-like sauce. This seemed odd as I thought the cooks made each dish from scratch. How hard is it to add pieces of chicken instead of ground chicken to a sauce with scallions, garlic & chili powder? Is this dish premade & that’s why? I’ve experienced PF Chang’s before & wasn’t all that impressed. I gave it another try because it was free. Now I can move on to supporting my locally-owned restaurants again!

So many unfriendly reviews of PF Changs! It had been months since I had my Stir-Fried Eggplant fix. My friend and I had not planned on going to PF Changs, we were actually on our way somewhere else, but there is something about that aroma as we walked by. Do they pipe that aroma out the doors on purpose to lure people in? Well, I was compelled to satisfy my sudden Eggplant craving. We did an about-face and ended up in the front door of PF Changs and were seated immediately. Although I live nearby, going to Changs is more of a treat for me when I want something like Chinese comfort food, heavy and a bit on the greasy side. We started out with the happy hour menu. I’m partial to the Crispy Green Beans; they have a nice little kick to them. I love the spiciness of the Dynamite Shrimp but could do without so much deep fried bread all over them. How about lightly battering them instead? The Eggplant was as wonderful as I had always remembered it. If it wasn’t socially unacceptable, I would have licked my plate clean. No doggy-bag necessary for me. Our server was pleasant and attentive, made sure that my order was correct(no scallions) and kept us well hydrated. The Bistro Ginger Beer was fantastic. This is why I keep going back, always a pleasant experience and the Eggplant always hits the spot.
