This is a great place for breakfast and lunch. They have pancake and waffle bar as well as made to order grill station. Whatever it is sweet or savory breakfast you want, they got you covered. Lunch is the same. They have wide selection of salad, pasta/noodle, grill items. Definitely worth a visit.

This cafeteria inside the Standard Insurance Center has an airport foodcourt vibe, but the food is better and the staff are friendlier. They have Peet’s coffee, too. Outtakes has a core menu, plus specials and an array of cold sandwiches, salads, and snacks that are pre-made and ready to take out. I especially like that they have really good sauteed or roasted veggies every day, and not just the ones everyone seems to like – last week I had roasted carrots; today they had Brussels sprouts! Some people complain about the prices, but I think the prices are fair for the quality of the food and the service. I never eat at the tables outside of the café, though. It’s too noisy there for me.

I don’t care how good your food is(it is quite good). If you over-charge me, you get 1 star. Maybe next time the cashier can stop chatting with a coworker to realize my food should not cost $ 11.

C’mon guys, this isn’t fine dining, it is a cafeteria, a really excellent one. Especially in the past year, they post information about ingredients and seek to offer healthy choices and terrific variety. The recent chef’s choice table provides a creative selection prepared to order. There is something for everyone from the vegan to the meat and gravy crowd.

This was such a great find! There are no other restaurants like this on this side of down town. The building is absolutely beautiful and has plenty of seating, and a great recycling center. The food selections are always delicious; from the fresh fish, to the sushi and salad bars. The drink selection is hands down the best I’ve seen. Better than most convenience stores. They’ve got tons of snacks, and the menu is constantly rotating. The themed lunches are fun as well. The people are always fast and friendly and keep things moving without feeling rushed. It’s a great spot!

Love this place! They have a rotating menu so it’s not the same thing day in and day out. They have pre-made items like salads, parfaits, etc. They have fresh items grilled to order including chicken, burgers, and fish selections. Their chef table always serves something amazing and there are fresh sandwiches to eat cold or hot. Overall, I love the variety of fresh items available. Oh, and the staff ROCKS!

Outtakes has always had a very large array of things. On a daily basis, they have the basics such as soup, salad, sandwiches, etc. Premade stuff. On the grill, they usually have rotisserie chicken & mashed potatoes as their standard in addition to whatever else is the special that day. Since Christa, the new manager/chef came in, I really do like it much more here. There are«themed» days now and the food has gotten slightly better. For instance today, there was a Mardi Gras themed day with jambalaya and other seafood stuff. Christa definitely wanted to bring in more culinary expertise and I believe she did exactly that. As far as breakfast is concerned, I really don’t care much for Outtakes. Just feels too cafeteria like, but still edible. I usually swing by for oatmeal when I forget my breakfast. Kinda flavorless and I don’t care much for the eggs. The two reasons I marked Outtakes down is because with a new culinary experience comes increased prices. The prices even for downtown seem too expensive. Today I got a «turkey bacon w/avocado» wrap that was $ 5.79 and had approximately two pieces of bacon in total throughout the whole thing. That wasn’t including a drink. They also have been really trying to upsell lately and push their new organic packaged product and it’s a little annoying. Those things aside, I’ll still keep coming back because the staff is really friendly & always genuinely ask you how your day is.

This is in the lower lobby level of the Standard Insurance Center building. They serve breakfast and lunch as well as a variety of stationary snacls and drinks. The menu is a daily mix of featured items, as well as a fixed menu. They have a lot of premade items as well as assemble by order. The food is good. Remember you are in the equivalent of a corporate cafeteria with a little bit of flair. The menu can be a bit pricey in ratio to the quality of the food. But overall the experience isn’t bad.

I’m not going to lie… this isn’t a bad place to come to for lunch. I food is pretty good considering it feels like a cafeteria. After my dry hamburger experience at a local restaurant I came here with a co-worker to see what they have going. I’m thinking slop, step two places and pay for slop. That wasn’t the case. They have burgers, chicken burgers, and other stuff that they cook. The burgers are cooked to order if you order a combo. It comes with a drink and fries as well. The place is clean and the staff are very helpful. I like this place and something I can go to if I feel like something different. Doesn’t hurt the wallet. The only problems is they have a TV in the eating area… do we really need to watch continued coverage of news? Perry Mason is on!

The Outtakes is a cafeteria at the basement of Standard Insurance Building in Portland, but it’s also open to the public. I like to stop by here when I forgot my breakfast from home. They have usual cafeteria goodies, such as bottled drinks, yogurts, fruit cups, coffee, fountain drinks, cookies, brownies, chips, bagels, and more. I think the perk of this place is the HOT breakfast that they serve and you can get it to go also. Usually, I got my two eggs(sunnyside up), 2 pieces of bacons, and Hashbrowns with Gravy on top for about $ 4 ish. That’s like two days worth of breakfast for me. They also have breakfast special daily such as Eggs Benedict and Huevos Rancheros. Service was fast, food is fresh, but they have a minor flaw which is the flavor of the food. It’s kinda tasteless, so if you love your salt and peppa… make sure to grab at least couple packages of them and sprinkle them on your food. Besides that, I’m a fan of this place and hot breakfast makes my day 10 times much better.
