Ohgushi Sara, ND

I had Dr. Sara Ohgushi as my midwife and also follow up for my homebirth. She was respectful, VERY knowledgeable, loving, and she was so in tune with my family and I, my elder son would cry when she would leave. I was anemic, she got me on a high dose of iron. I came up with Group B strep, she found a solution that did not involve antibiotics, which I did not want to use. She was like a loving mother to our entire family. She was on top of my son’s weight gain and even came by extra times and lent us a scale to monitor his weight gain. We were thankful to have her catch our baby.

Dr. Ohgushi facilitated the home birth of my daughter last November. I have nothing but praise for her and her business.
Because my husband and I didn’t have insurance, she offered us her discounted rate; $ 2700 for all prenatal visits (I believe 6 in total), delivery, and three post-​natal checkups. (Much as I liked her from our first meeting, this was the clincher.)
Sara provided confidence and security throughout my (thoroughly unpleasant) pregnancy experience. I could call her at any time of day and she’d answer her phone.
At no point did have I ever felt bullied, pressured to make decisions that run contrary to my personal philosophy. (She and I share a less-​is-​more, prevention-​is-​cheaper-​than-​a-​cure approach to healthcare.)
Based on my fabulous pregnancy and labor experience, Sara is now our family doctor, and she’ll be our doctor for as long as she’s in business. I have never known a better healthcare professional.
