This is community and how it should be!
in the basement of those old church, houses all the tools that you need but don’t use very often.
a great way to meet your neighbors and to save on all the clutter that can take up your garage rental is free and late fees or affordable. Don’t borrow from your neighbor and don’t waste the money buying just come to the North East or North Portland tool library!

Why would you ever buy a weed whacker when you only use it once a month and you can rent it for free

Um… you’re telling me I can come check out the tools I need all for the optional donation price of $ 12?! What an amazing idea and cool part of the community! Makes me very happy to live in NE with such cool programs and amenities!

This place is awesome! We recently purchased a home right down the street from here and we have saved tons of money by checking out tools for all of our small projects.

They also have the heavy duty stuff like jackhammers, table saws etc.
Membership is technically free, but they do ask for a suggested donation – even that is a steal at 12 bucks per person.
All tools check out for a week and the late fee is $ 2 per tool.
I don’t want to jinx myself, but so far they have always had what I needed available to be checked out, and everything has been in good working order.
This is a great resource for people who only need a tool for a single project or who just don’t have storage space for lots of tools (also-​tools are expensive!).
I love that a place like this exists!

We also regularly use the tool library, from simple jobs to more tool– specific. This sort of place is just what makes Portland so unique. Thanks to all those who work hard to keep this tool library happening.

Most everything looks to be in good shape.
You get up to 7 tools at a time for 7 days.
Wed 5:30p-7:30p
Sat 9a-​2p
Return it during the 1^st hour on the 7^th day or there’s a late fee.
