I was very impressed by the knowledge and helpfulness of the young woman who helped me. They have a great selection of raw, freeze dried, and high quality pet foods, including local options. I feel great about supporting this local business rather than online retailers I’ve used in the past.

Ooooooo I love shopping for my dog here! Everyone who works here are so friendly and knowledgable! They helped me with a special diet for my dog when she was feeling sick, and really helped to calm my nerves.
They also have a low-​cost vet come every 4^th sun of the month, which is aaaamazing. I love supporting businesses like this and will totally continue to :)

we love this place! they are so nice and helpful here, and they are always so sweet to our rambunctious shiba whenever we come in. what’s great about this place is they guarantee all of their food/​toys/​treats, so if something doesn’t work out we can take it back even if it’s been opened or half eaten which is really nice when you have a picky pup. it’s not a huge store, but they have a great selection and will also special order something if you ask.

The best pet store and so friendly. One time I forgot my debit card. They just gave me the pet food and said they trusted me to come back the next day and pay. Now that’s what a neighborhood store is all about. Excellent selection of treats, too!

A very cool store. It’s not huge but they have a great selection ranging from toys to excellent quality food (kibble and raw) and even bulk treats and stuff. The guy working (probably the owner) was awesome, he really loves his animals and he’ll love yours too, you can tell he cares a lot. It’s worth a stop for sure.

Natural Pet Food Solutions is as good as it gets. It really is. I first started going here a year ago when they stocked a hard-​to-​find pet food I was feeding my cats. The staff were super friendly, so always kept on coming back. I recently welcomed a puppy in to my life and are at Natural Pet Foods weekly.

Great local pet store! I get my pups food here regularly. They have a great selection of treats, toys, and all the essentials you need for your pet. The staff is super helpful and always very friendly. Can’t beat this place if you live nearby.

I’ve bought cat food, litter, collars, treats, ID tags, and more from here. They have a variety of pet products for cats and dogs. I think I also saw some things rabbit owners could use but as I only have cats I didn’t explore what they had for different pets, but they definitely had a big selection for cats and dogs. It’s a great store, nice smaller size when compared to Walmart sized Pet Stores I’ve previously had to go to. It’s clean and pleasant. The workers are very friendly and I get greeted each time I visit and offered assistance. But I never feel «pestered» for assistance. It’s a nice friendly balance. I met the owner today when I payed for my most recent purchase. Kristen is very friendly and told me about the inventory they had and when they would have new products in. She seems to really curate the store’s products so there is new and unique merchandise available in addition to the staples everyone likes. She also told me about upcoming events like a store anniversary party and sale and an October costume contest for pets. She even laughed at my silly stories and made me feel so valued. I can’t recommend this store enough. They also have a couple friendly cats roaming the store which is important to know for customers.

It’s not everyday you look forward to shopping, but I can honestly say there isn’t a day when I have ‘Dog Food’ written on my grocery list and I don’t mind having to stop in here to get our dog food. We’ve been customers for just over one year now, and I am very thankful to have found this shop when we moved to Portland. The products are great, above that, the staff is exceptional. Helpful, friendly and so caring. You can tell they all really love their jobs and their customers. We appreciate all the advice and conversations from our first year anniversary as customers!

I like coming in here. The roaming cats are good practice for my excitable lab. Going in there knowing what to prepare for helps set up some good training sessions. The cute guy working there today also gave me one of my doggie ice creams for free.

This place really knows their stuff! It’s so nice to have such a great mom and pop pet store in town and everyone who works there are absolute pet lovers. Prices are great, store is neat and clean. They even have store cats up for adoption. What more could you ask for? Check it out.

My corgi Dutch and I love going here! Everyone is so nice that works here and they spoil Dutch with treats and love! Just watch out for kitties sometimes they don’t wanna join in on the conversation, they wanna scratch! I love to give them love too though. Good prices and nice treat selection

My girlfriend and I moved to Sellwood about a year ago and have been coming here because it’s close to where we live and offers the food that we would be purchasing elsewhere for more expensive prices. However, we come back because of the staggering amount of good service and selection of products.
The owner, Kristen, is an absolute delight and knows her stuff. She’s super helpful about natural pet food, but offers great home tips to solve pet ailments. Our cat had a diarrhea problem and she talked with us for about ten minutes and gave us some great ideas to help us out. She remembers us every time we walk through the door and has a huge enthusiasm that is largely missing from this industry aside from the mom and pop stores sprinkled throughout the area.
If you want a friendly neighborhood pet store, this is the place to beat!

Prices aren’t great, but then again, at what pet store are the prices cheap! I use Nutri source grain free food along with a raw diet. It’s pretty much the best of mid-​level foods, and they didn’t have grain free when they opened, but their food selection has at least doubled since then. I don’t mind spending a couple dollars more if I can go around the corner instead of driving all the way to pets on broadway. Nice helpful staff, just watch out for bringing your dog in without checking for roaming cats! Then again, where aren’t there roaming cats? Anyway, nice place, best option in the sellwood area by far!

I could not ask for more from a neighborhood pet supplies shop. So welcoming, with friendly staff, and all the brands I look for at good prices. I usually go to Sellwood Dog Supply nearby, but the last couple months I have been splitting up visits about ⁵⁰⁄₅₀.
It is like a pet food joint custody situation.
Over the summer, they participated in a fun event, Passport to Sellwood, and they had crazy sales plus free gift bags for all your beasts at home! It was near the end of the day when I stopped in, event was wrapping up, and they told me to take as many as I wanted. Nice!
Kudos on their involvement in local adoption efforts as well. Very nice shop, go say meow.

This shop has really fair prices on all the better variety cat and dog foods. I was thrilled to find that Kristen carried Acana and Orijen, a great high quality Alberta made cat/​dog food. She kind of has a variety of foods that makes it hard to choose for your pet… they are all so good. Often, she has samples of the newer variety of foods as well that she is happy to share (she doesn’t hoard them and make you beg for them). If you are looking for something that she doesn’t have in the shop, she will see if she can order it in for you.
Her work with the Multnomah County Animal Shelter and the adoption of shelter cats is outstanding. She has adopted out an outrageous number of animals since opening her shop… I can’t remember what the number was but it’s somewhere around 15 – 18 or so now… maybe more. She keeps up to 4 cats at a time right there in the shop, in a nice little cat hotel. The cats are let out to roam the shop on a regular basis which makes it very difficult for me NOT to take them home with me when I go in to buy cat food. Thanks a lot Kristen…
The shop is neat and tidy, well organized but homey. Kristen kind of makes you feel like she’s known you for years after only having met her a few times. She’s kind of homey too. She will do very will on her little corner. If you haven’t been in to see her shop, go see her.

My dog Olly and I went dog-​food shopping here today. He was down to the last few cups of his current food and it was time to try something new. Kristen was very welcoming to us and gave Olly lots of treat samples. I asked for her advice on what type of food I should try to make… ahem… his poops a bit firmer. He’s been in our family for about 2 years and we still haven’t found his optimum food. She recommended Pure-​Vita, so that’s what I got. She also sent us away with some raw food treats. Anyway, this is a great store and we’ll definitely get Olly’s food from here from now on. Her prices seem fair or at least in line with the other independent shops. I’m not savvy enough to know if it’s cheaper or more expensive. The shopping experience makes it worthwhile, regardless!

Natural Pet Food Solutions is a gem.
First off, it’s owned by a friendly and enthusiastic pet lover, Kristen Larson who’s been in the business of pet supplies for 18 years. It was her dream all that time to open this store. If that isn’t enough of a reason to visit, let me say that Natural Pet Food Solutions has a plethora of fun doggy and kitty treats, toys, and food, and there are so many colorful things to look at! Every time we go in, our dogs pick out what they want, and we humans are greeted with genuine interest.
Second of all, they foster cats for adoption within the store, and do benefits for local animal rescues. How cool is that?
We recently went to their Holiday event where our beloved Beardie, Guinness got a photo with Santa Paws, many treats, and a visit with pet psychic, Faye Pietrokowsky, who was right on about everything from Guinness’s life before he was rescued by us, to my partner’s health. It was a lot of fun, and very affordable. We also caught up with our trainer, Camilla Wellhaven (Ain’t Misbehavin’) and our dog walker, Patrice Courtis of Petunia Pet Care who were there meeting and greeting. It’s a small world, and clearly great hearts beat together. ;) We left with a free giant goodie bag of natural treats and bones! It was incredibly generous of Natural Pet Food Solutions!
